Piso privado de una habitación en planta baja, precioso entorno de pueblo con tienda de pueblo, excelentes pubs y comida de pub a pocos pasos de distancia (The Farriers Arms tiene su propia microcervecería - prueba el '1606' bitter!). La estación internacional está a solo 10 minutos en coche (35 minutos a Londres, 2 horas a París), el túnel del canal Le Shuttle a 15 minutos y Dover a 30 minutos. Estacionamiento privado fuera de la carretera y jardín propio, piso bien equipado, cocina de galera con nevera, horno / microondas y lavadora / secadora. WIFI, TV y DVD, etc. Hosts 'de al lado' si necesita alguna guía o ayuda. Ubicación ideal para viajeros en su camino hacia o desde Europa. Entorno de la aldea central, dos bares tradicionales, con buena comida y la tienda del pueblo, todo a poca distancia a pie.

Property was difficult to find because of no internet coverage for me to be able to access the information provided. Positive things were cleanliness, very comfortable bed, a few start up provisions, and a television where we could acess ITV plus (we can't do that at home)Negative things: I hadn't realised it was a combination microwave. I had brought a meal to cook in an oven which required both things to be cooked at once. Therefor I couldn't cook it and had to go to the pub for a meal, incuring a 50 bill, for a main course each and a soft drink, that I hadn't planned for. I cooked another meal on the 2 ring hob, but 1 of them kept turning off (error 6 in the book) The microwave and fridge/freezer were set far too low for a 77 year old to comfortably use. I had to bend double and peer upwards, not easy when you wear varifocals. So although the positive things were good, I wouldn't stay again, because of the inconveniance. Also I didn't like it that the saucepans were kept in the same cupboard as the cleaning materials.

Great accommodation for a short break.

The Annexe is the ideal property to stay in Kent to be near to the coast and the towns. It is well furnished and equipped with all you need for a short break.

Mersham Village outside Ashford, Kent, UK

The Annexe is the perfect place to stay if you want see the Kent County but live in a quiet village atmosphere at the same time. We used this one bedroom apartment as our base and it was so accessible to all South East England towns. The apartment was a good size, very clean and had everything you could need. Marion and Chris were perfect hosts and having the basic food items in the cupboard and fridge on arrival was very much appreciated. Chris was very generous with his time, showing around and inside the old church. Fascinating piece of history. The local area has two old pubs and both are great but special mention to the Royal Oak for making us feel so welcome. This stay was absolutely delightful and after driving around sightseeing it was so good to relax in the absolute quietness and serenity of the village lifestyle. Thank you Chis and Marion

Very quite and Private Apartment

We had a delightful stay at this attached apartment! It is in a very quiet neighborhood. It was a lot larger then anticipated and very clean. We were provided some basics- bread, milk, butter and marmalade (very tasty!) It is around 10 minute drive to the train station and an easy walk to 2 pubs. Highly recommend!

The perfect base for a Kent stay

Our stay at this property was just perfect right from the beginning. Marion gave excellent directions for finding The Annexe and to have the basics in the fridge was truly appreciated. Everything worked and being all on ground level made access so easy. To be able to do our own cooking was an exciting way to use local produce. The location was a little further outside Ashford than we'd expected but it was a perfect base for traveling around the area and the village has so much history. Thankyou so much for a great stay.

A great stay in the pretty village of Mersham. The local pub does the best food.

We found The Annexe to be a very clean, comfortable and homely property with all that we needed for our stay. Some breakfast items and tea/coffee, more than enough for our stay, were unexpectedly supplied and very much appreciated. The small secluded garden with chairs and table would have been used, but unfortunately the weather did not allow.

Perfect spot.

The annexe has absolutely everything you need and set in a lovely village which is ideal for exploring the area. Easy to find, private parking and great to have provisions there when you arrive. Having you own little garden area, a real bonus too in the warmer weather. Great accommodation!

Fabulous Accommodation

The Annexe is just absolutely everything you want in a rental accommodation. It is perfect, it has everything you think you want and then a little more like the Orange Juice, Milk, Bread, Butter & Jam in the fridge. It is spotlessly clean, bright and airy. A great comfortable bed & a comfy sofa! A great outdoor space which is a suntrap to enjoy a glass of wine. Marion & Chris are great hosts & really friendly & thoughtful. Mersham is a village just outside Ashford, it is a fantastic location as everything Kent has to offer is accessible. The village has a post office/shop and an awesome Pub - The Farriers Arms, ever more remarkably the pub was bought by members of the community and it is a credit to their hard work & investment. Great outdoor garden space & views and fabulous food! Love this place, would love to keep visiting.

The place had been cleaned to a high degree. Some milk, bread etc was left for us which we didn’t expect. Owners were lovely.

A stress free break

Marion’s communications were clear and timely. We found the property easily and the parking was very safe. It was a really nice touch to find fresh milk, bread and orange juice in the fridge. There was also a get you going supply of essentials. The property was very clean and had a lovely air freshener smell. The location was perfect for us as we visited Hythe, Whitstable, Folkestone and Bodiam castle. Our stay was very relaxing. Although we only met Marion and Chris as we were leaving they were available during our stay if needed. We would be very happy to stay here again.

Homely break in peaceful pretty village.

Comfortable and beautifully clean. A little difficult to find in the dark till we remembered next door’s sign which showed up easily in our headlights. Tiny garden was fine as we were out all day visiting relatives. Good to come and go without disturbing anyone but parking was a bit tight.. A lot of thought had gone into providing us with all we might need. We would stay again,

Downs and hills

The Annexe provided a very convenient and comfortable base for cycling around Romney Marsh, inland hills. There is easy access to Ashford station and two local pubs for food and refreshment. We would definitely like to return.

We chose this property due to the previous reviews. In these times of Covid it was important for us to stay in a property that was clean! We were not disappointed! Whilst the Annexe is smaller than a number of places we have been to via Home Away, it was comfortable and had nearly everything that you would want. I say nearly, and this is just a personal choice, a bigger frying pan would of been appreciated and a blind in the bathroom. However we improvised on both! My husband and I have never used a convection microwave oven before - and my husband who did all of the cooking - cooked a great roast dinner in it - even to the point where we have ordered one for our home! The location was quiet (lovely!) with a general store/post office and a pub. The pub would of benefited from a refresh, but their track and trace systems were excellent, and they were very friendly. As this was a relaxing holiday, we only ventured into Ashford once. We went to the main shopping centre which had an abundance of shops and restaurants. Our hosts, Marion and Chris were contactable during our stay and helped with any queries. Our only negative point (and I believe this is down to Home Away regulations during Covid) was the checking in/out times, as they differed from the "house rules" and the reservation confirmation from Home Away. Thank you Marion and Chris, for a clean, peaceful and relaxing break. What more could you ask for?

Ticked all the right boxes

Due to Covid our weeks stay in Scotland was cancelled, so we opted for somewhere completely different and at very short notice. What a gem we found! Perfect in every respect. Location was ideal for exploring. The venue was modern and exceptionally clean. Marion and Chris even went that bit extra further in supplying us with essentials like milk/bread etc. It's little touches like this that made our break that more special. We wouldn't hesitate to return, and that's unusual for us as we normally wouldn't do so. But there is still more exploring of the Kent countryside to take in. Thanks again to our hosts. Worth finding!

First rate property, but don’t rely on your sat nav as the new exit from the m20 really confuses life! Any property that offers me clotted cream on arrival deserves six stars.

Great place!

Well-designed space with a VERY comfortable sofa! Stayed here 8 nights and found it to be a very good value. Chris and Marian (our hosts) were delightful people! The pub down the street served gourmet food. We ate there 5 times!!!

Very impressed

Just spent a long weekend in this lovely little annexe. Marion & Chris have got it spot on. We couldn't fault it. The welcome pack was very generous. Mersham is handily placed close to Ashford. We can recommend the Farriers Arms in the village for superb food and friendly service.

Schöne Wohnung in toller Lager

Die Wohnung war liebevoll eingerichtet und bestens ausgestattet. Die Begrüßung, inklusive kleinem Carepacket fürs erste Frühstück, war sehr herzlich. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und haben uns tolle Ausflugstipps gegeben. Wir konnten Dover, Canterbury, London (Car Park North Greenwich oder mit der Bahn ab Ashford), Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst garden, Rye ...bequem mit dem Auto erreichen. In Mersham selbst gab es eine schöne Kirche, Pubs und einen kleinen Shop. Einen großen 24h Supermarkt gab es nur 5-10 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt. Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub und würden jederzeit wieder hinfahren- es ist ein toller Ausgangspunkt für eine Englandrundreise.

We have enjoyed the hospitality of Homeaway hosts in USA, and want to offer our apartment to visitors either en route to the continent to take advantages of great connections, or those who want to sample Kentish village life, and some of the great attractions locally available.

This apartment is totally self contained, with its own garden. Great for leisure or business travellers. Good pub food within easy walking distance, plus only 5 minutes' drive to cinema complex, restaurants, designer outlet etc.
