We can’t wait to host you at French Farmhouse Holiday. This beautiful 4-bedroom 2 bathroom farmhouse with shared heated pool nestled in the heart of the Dordogne has stunning views and lots of local activities to enjoy. It accommodates 8 guests and is set within 9 acres of grounds inc gardens, pastureland and it's own woodland, which includes a Zip Wire ride within the trees that is surrounded by beautiful countryside. This traditional stone property has many features including terracotta floors and a natural limestone fireplace with wood burner. Perfect for the winter months. It is ideally situated for walking, cycling, canoeing, historical architecture & pretty villages or wandering around the many local markets or if you just want to unwind, relax or swim in the lovely heated pool. ( heated from May - Oct )
The kitchen inc dishwasher, washing machine, gas stove, microwave fridge/freezer coffee machine kettle, toaster.
The lounge has comfortable leather sofas ideal for relaxing while watching TV ( French free view TV).
French doors lead out to the patio, perfect for sipping morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.
The bathrooms have modern fixtures and fittings, one with walk in shower unit, the other bath/ shower. Both are on the ground floor
Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, one with a four poster bed, the other a twin bedroom
On the first floor is another double bedroom and twin room
All house bed linen and towels provided, pool towels also provided on request.
The 5m x 10m heated pool & sauna are shared with another 2 bedroom property but there is plenty of space and sun loungers. Parasols are also provided. The pool is fully alarmed and meets French regulations.
Outside there is a BBQ and 2 dining areas. A range of other games available ie Pool table, table tennis , trampoline, our Zip wire in our woods, boules &, tennis rackets. There are also some bikes available free of charge.
Holidays at French Farmhouse Holiday have a lot to offer whether planning an in active holiday or whether you just want to soak up the peaceful atmosphere here while relaxing by the lovely heated pool. It's a great location for family, friends or couples alike.

Tranquil and recharging

Lisette and Craig were excellent hosts, quickly dealing with a couple of light bulbs that had gone, and provding a great mix of being very welcoming and accommodating but not intrusive. Lovely property, where we could all just totally relax and switch off. Beautiful scenery and location, and a car is definitely required, but well located to access some wonderful places in the Western Dordogne. Thank you for a great stay

Excellentes vacances au cœur du Périgord vert !

Belle villa avec une belle piscine et des activités riches et variées ( billars, badminton, ping pong...) petit point de Progrès : l équipement de la maison (aspirateur et hotte dans la cuisine ne fonctionnant pas par exemple ...) mais un detail dans un séjour en famille très agréable !

bonsoir, la maison n'est pas faite pour 3 couples retraités comme nous. Il n'y a pas de toilettes en haut et les 2 salles de bain se trouvent en bas avec les toilettes dedans. sur l'annonce ce n'était pas précisé.. La batterie de cuisine est peu fournie et très vieille. nous avons passé tout de même un agréable séjour ! Mais cette maison est faite pour 2 familles avec 4 enfants. Catherine

Wonderful property, kind owners, great stay

My family and I stayed a week at Lizette's house as part of a two-month tour of Europe. My kids keep asking to go back and begin each new leg of the journey with "Well, it's not Lizette's, but otherwise it okay". The pool (during a 104 degree F heatwave) was a welcome respite. The zipline and woods were a hit with the kiddos. The bikes, fooseball, and ping-pong, were also fun. The house was immaculate and a beautiful place to stay. Great proximity to some charming French towns and activities like caves, kayaking and markets. Lizette (and her sweet dogs/cats) could not have been kinder or more welcoming. We were sick for most of the days there, and there was a several-day heatwave, and we still had an amazing time. If you don't have fun here, you are doing it wrong! In short, the place was perfect.

Beautiful Gite in a fabulously beautiful location - perfect for families and cyclists!

Our family spent the week here in early April and we were blessed with sunny and dry weather. If you want splendid isolation and family friendly accommodation then this is perfect. You WILL need a car or transport to get to the nearest towns but that’s the attraction. Lizette was a charming host and very friendly. She was exceptionally friendly and helped us settle in. The area is EXCEPTIONAL if you enjoy walking/trekking or cycling. I am a passionate road cyclist and managed to cover over 500kms in the week - in the most beautiful countryside and cycling through historic villages. The roads are virtually empty! Our only negative point is in relation to the WiFi/Internet connection - you simply cannot get connected in the main house and have to exit the property and sit near to the owners front door. So, if it’s raining or cold and you want to be connected to the world then good luck! If it’s sunny and dry then you can sit outside and it’s not a problem. The facilities available for the family are great - there are bikes available, trampoline, swimming pool (amazing position), zip line in the summer, table football, etc. So overall a really lovely time. Get out and explore.
