Cabañas del río Watauga - Cabaña Laureles

La cabaña Laurels es parte de nuestro 'lodge rústico'. Nuestro albergue se encuentra a orillas del hermoso río Watauga, a medio camino entre Johnson City y Elizabethton. El albergue fue diseñado para parecerse a un establo de caballos y se encuentra en 5 acres con más de 600 pies de frente al río y consta de 3 cabañas.

El Laurels Cabin de arriba tiene más de 600 pies cuadrados de espacio habitable. La cabina tiene una cama queen, un sofá para gatos, un baño completo, junto con una cocina completa y sala de estar. La cabina Laurels puede acomodar 2-4 cómodamente. La sala de estar tiene un sofá para gatos que se reclina casi plano en caso de que desee dormir.

Todas las sábanas están incluidas, todo lo que tiene que hacer es recoger algo de comida y traer sus artículos personales, ¡todos los demás artículos se le proporcionarán! La cocina está totalmente equipada con vajilla, utensilios de cocina, tostadora, cafetera y microondas.

La cabina tiene calefacción / aire acondicionado, ventilador de techo, TV de pantalla plana vía satélite, DVD / VCR, servicio de lavandería central y parrilla de gas.

Muy conveniente tanto para Johnson City y Elizabethton (10 minutos) como para las estaciones de esquí Roan Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain y Hawksnest (45-60 minutos). Inmediatamente adyacente al albergue se encuentra el río Watauga, que mide unos 100 pies de ancho y alberga algunas de las mejores pesquerías de truchas en el este de los Estados Unidos. Las especies de truchas en el río Watauga son Rainbow, Brook y Brown, así como varios tipos de Bass y varias especies que no son de caza. Esta parte inferior de Watauga ha sido designada como la "Zona de Trucha de Calidad".

Incredible property right on the Watauga. Allows you to get away and relax in a secluded property while still being 10-15 minutes away from Johnson City or Elizabethton.

Loved our stay at the Watauga River Cabins. I was very impressed with the property. Some of my favorite features were the fire pit area/common area, the river and ease of access in & out of the property. I plan to stay here for the Bristol Night Race again in the future!

Wonderful stay! We enjoyed walking our dog by the river and on the well maintained grounds. We also enjoyed the beautiful view of the river from the balcony each morning with coffee. The Laurel cabin was cozy with everything needed to feel like home away from home.

Laurel cabin was perfect for our stay. my dogs loved sitting outside along the river. The scenery was gorgeous, The accommodations were clean & adequate. The owners very helpful. I will probably choose to stay in Hemlock or Sycamore next time because of no stairs. Definetly plan to stay next year

The upstairs one bedroom was great although the steps took some effort. The open living room, kitchen and dining room gave plenty of room to spread out. The porches on each end really added a nice touch as well as the fire pit and stack of fire wood. The walkway to the creek was well done and gave easy access. There was nothing to really complain about but I would mention the water pressure was not high even when we were the only ones staying but the hot water was truly and pleasantly hot. We will be back.

Listening to the water

Great property where we listened to the water down the river all day. The balcony was great for a morning cup of coffee. Our kids had a great time playing outside and going down to the water. Would definitely go back.

Lovely peaceful setting on the river, quiet country setting. Access to surrounding towns was easy and I appreciated the list of businesses you provided. The views from the balconies were great as well. Managing the stairs with luggage was a bit challenging. Would be nice if owners could build out a bit of a landing zone at door height for luggage to sit on while you open the door. That was such a tiny part of the visit, it wouldn’t prevent me from staying again though. Overall I enjoyed the setting and the stay.

Convenient to fish the S Holston and Watauga Rivers

Great location on the watauga River in a country setting. Unique cabin, with Everything needed for our stay. Enjoyed a relaxing evening by the outdoor fire pit. Will likely stay there again next year. There are also two new mini-splits which made it very comfortable when the overnight temp dipped into the low 30’s

Cozy and quiet.

This is a great place to stay for your trip to Johnson City and surrounding areas. Be advised that each cabin is actually more like a cabin apartment. But it didn't detract from our stay at all. Its clean and cozy. Staying right on the bank of the river is very relaxing. Sunrises are stunning!

Highly recommend these Cabins, the location is great, so many things to do there and within a short drive. Kiddos had a blast and played outside almost all day! The river is beautiful to wake up to and enjoy a cup of coffee with.

I own a retirement mobile home park in Florida and my wife is a Biology teacher.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The river property came into my mother’s family in the 1890’s. My great grandfather built the family homestead. In 1901 (pre-dam) a flood came and damaged the home. With mules and logs they moved the 3,000 square foot, 2 story home across the creek and placed it on higher ground. Before the dam was built in the mid 1940’s, the river would sometimes look like a creek, at other times it would rise and come out its 50 foot banks. In the winter, the river would freeze and my great grandparents would cut squares of ice from the river and bury it in their home for later use. Before the bridge, there was a natural shelf that allowed the horse and buggies to cross the river in front of the cabins.

The ground was farmed until I received it in 2003. My mother was raised on the property, until she married my father in 1947 and moved to Florida. We vacationed here every year, so I have always loved this place. I wanted a place of my own but hated the idea of having it sit empty most of the time. I am in the rental business in Florida so I decided to build something that could be rented when we are not able to be here. At that time, there were no buildings on the property so I was able to start from scratch. I really like the character of horse barns and thought, why not build one that could house people. So, in 2004, we built the cabins and it has been a great adventure! This past winter, we completed our retirement cabin. The cabin has three bedrooms, three baths, and an apartment on the lower level.
