When we booked this property, we thought it looked nice, but none of the pictures truly prepared us for what awaited. This has to be one of the most wonderful, spacious, and comfortable properties we have ever stayed in abroad, and we have stayed in a fair few!
The house itself is so roomy, and your every need is catered for, from the American-style fridge, with iced water on tap, to the coffee maker. With two teenagers, we particularly valued there being double beds in each of the rooms, as well as separate showers/bathrooms. Everybody had plenty of space to relax in, and, with nine different seating areas to choose from, there was something for everyone. Fans in each of the rooms were a huge bonus as well.
The pool and gardens were just wonderful. We hadn't realised just how much land surrounded the property. The whole place felt truly luxurious.
The town of Cotignac was lovely. Unfortunately you can't really walk into town from the property, which was a real shame, but parking was easy (except on market day), and so we really didn't mind. There are plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from (booking HIGHLY recommended to avoid disappointment), but we particularly enjoyed eating crepes and drinking coffee at the local cafes in the mornings. It's a lovely town to simply wander around, and the market on a Tuesday morning is a real treat.
All in all, this is the most wonderful property, on the outskirts of a lovely town, in the most beautiful part of France. Highly recommended.
