Beautiful cabin close to downtown Boone

This beautifully wood paneled cabin is nestled in the heart of the blue ridge mountains. It is located close to town and is the perfect retreat for couples or families seeking escape from hot summer days, or simply want to relax! Walking in you will be greeted by beautiful vaulted ceilings and tons of natural light! The living room is equipped with a beautiful fireplace, and a HD TV. In the kitchen you will find top of the line stainless steel appliances perfect for cooking! Both bedrooms have on suite bathrooms, tvs with Roku/Firestick for streaming and plenty of storage. With two queen beds 4 can sleep comfortably. Reasonably priced and tailored to vacationers' desires, Mountain Mystique is the perfect retreat cabin for you!

*Please note: Roxanna St is a gravel mountain road. There is a steep area near the top. During inclement weather a 4 wheel drive and/or chains may be needed. No refunds due to weather conditions. If you don't feel comfortable driving up, you can park at the bottom and walk up to the cabin (approximately 1/4 mile)

*NO pets; only officially trained service animals are allowed. If excess cleaning is required there will be an additional cleaning fee of $100

*There is one security camera located by the main entrance, allowing view of the driveway and entry door. There are no cameras located inside the house.

*There is a gun range off Castleford Rd

Joseph and Fay are great hosts! We enjoyed a week at their lovely cabin, which is about 7 miles from the center of Boone. You will not be disappointed renting it. It is fully equipped with everything you need!!

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and just as pictured. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I will say that getting to the cabin can be a little difficult because of the gravel road. Even with four-wheel drive, it was a bit challenging, although the host does mention this in the listing. Once you get there, though, the cabin itself is wonderful. I loved the sheets in the master bedroom so much that I bought them! Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our stay!

It was a great cabin for a long weekend getaway. The place was clean, neat, comfortable and quiet. We spent two of our nights watching the fireflies glowing in the woods that we enjoyed from the balcony. Highly recommend.

My family loved the property overall. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the property and being able to watch the birds come eat from the bird feeders. Very comfortable. My son was a little disappointed because he could try out “the cool” bathtub because he is in a cast. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, outside of it being rainy all weekend and AppState football game being a bust. Anyways I have already recommended this location to family and friends that are looking for a quiet getaway in the mountains. Perfect spot for my book lovers because the deck is amazing. Also thank you for the accommodations that were provided.

Fay-- I grew up in Amherst County, Virginia and graduated from James Madison Univ many moons ago with my BSN (nursing). I am a recently retired school nurse. I love spending time with my family(4 children and one grandchild) and friends, hiking, and traveling. I love music and the arts!
Josh (our son)- I am a recent graduate from ASU in Boone, NC. I help manage the property, and enjoy hiking in the area.

The tongue and groove pine paneling and hardwood floors throughout the house afford a beautiful interior. The cabin is tastefully decorated and has a fully equipped kitchen. The location is close to downtown Boone and Appalachian State Univ. When you're in the mountains you are closer to heaven!

The cabin has hardwood floors throughout and a beautiful stone fireplace. The openness of the vaulted ceilings, modern kitchen, the cozy bedrooms brings charm to the property. The covered deck allows you to relax on the rocking chairs while viewing birds at the feeder and other local wildlife. Location is close to downtown Boone, yet just outside Boone, to enjoy the mountain setting.. There is a gun club on Castleford Rd.
