About Nathan Hoffman

We are a family of five and we have owned our cabin for 6 years now. We have added on an addition and completely remodeled the place inside and out. Most of our early memories of our kids involve something assiciated with our cabin. It has been the perfect place to get away for our family or to host family and friends. Our kids are now fully involved in multiple activities, bday parties, camps etc and we feel like it is too nice of a place not to get used more often. We love to hear when our friends and family tell us how they look forward to there time at our cabin more than any other vacation and we hope that other people can have the same experience as well.

Nathan Hoffman purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Nathan Hoffman chose Motley

We picked this property and Lake Shamineau as it was the perfect combination of a south facing private lot, quiet clear lake and far enough away from the cities to feel like you are truly up north but also close enough to keep our sanity with 3 kids in the car for the trip.

What makes this cabin unique

We mostly enjoy the variety that our cabin offers. One day the kids are playing in the water, the next on the beach, then the woods, then fishing, then playing ping pong and games on a rainy day. Every day offers something fun to do away from electronics and with the whole family involved.

Such a great place for a multi-family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This trip far exceeded our expectations. With 4 kids under 5 years old, we were expecting to have a harder time keeping them entertained, but they had so much fun with everything. There was enough space where We didn't get into each other's way and if someone needed some space or quiet they could find it easily. Thank you so much for the opportunity to build so many memories. The kids are already planning the next trip!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments. We don't get to spend as much time there as we would like to and it truly makes us happy to hear of other families making memories there. Hope to have you back sometime - Nathan and Angela

Beautiful Cabin, Peaceful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! The kitchen is fully stocked - we didn't want for a thing when cooking. The beds and furniture are comfortable. Our favorite room was the sunroom. The views of the lake are incredible! The fireplace kept us toasty warm on chilly mornings. The yard and sandy beach are large. We had a couple nice fires on the beach. There are abandoned properties on one side and one cabin on the other. We didn't see anyone else our entire stay. It was so peaceful and quiet - nothing but wildlife, water lapping up on the shore, and the wind rustling through the trees. It was nice to sit on the chairs at the end of dock and enjoy the lake. We loved the cabin and the property. We will definitely be back!

Have traveled to Nicaragua, China, Roatan, Hawaii, Alaska

Well equipped, perfect location with big beach area, lovely home, great for family reunions!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at this "family friendly cabin". It was beautiful inside and decorated in such a cozy way you could tell it was a family home. The weather was perfect during our stay in May and the water was as smooth as silk. Can't express how much we enjoyed every minute at Lake Shamineau at the Hoffman's cabin. We fished (and caught a bass), kayaked, built sand castles, grilled dinners on the deck, roasted marshmallows on a big campfire one night, saw loons and listened to them at night. We went for walks, star gazed and truly loved every minute in this secluded setting. Working with Nathan when we had questions or concerns was easy as he was easily accessible and great to work with. We would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend staying there if you want a quiet comfortable vacation by a lake in a home that has everything a family could need.

Beautiful, peaceful, perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous, spacious, spotless lake home, perfect for a long weekend over our fall school break. Lots of space for our family to spread out, and our four kids (two teens, two elementary age) loved getting to choose which room would be theirs. We didn't take advantage of the lake since the weather was too cool and windy, but we hope to return in the summer to use the pontoon, kayaks, and beach! We enjoyed the extensive game cabinet, and our little ones loved finding toys to play with in the closets and reading stories from the bookshelf! Everything we needed for meals was readily available in the kitchen, and we enjoyed fresh shrimp from the fish market just a few minutes away and grilled steak on the deck. The owner was very responsive and wonderful to work with...we would not hesitate to recommend and we hope to return!
