Bienvenido a An Diank Meur (¡Cornualles para 'The Great Escape'!)
Esta hermosa cabaña de pescadores de Cornualles de 150 años de antigüedad está llena de carácter y características originales. Convenientemente situado en el corazón de este puerto pesquero histórico, venga y disfrute de una verdadera experiencia de vacaciones en Cornualles.
Ubicado en un remanso tranquilo, 'An Diank Meur' se encuentra a unos cientos de metros del puerto de Porthleven y está perfectamente ubicado para caminar a los numerosos bares y restaurantes, varias tiendas, galerías, la playa y el camino costero.

Tradicional pero modernizado y bien mantenido, el alojamiento está distribuido en 3 plantas. Con una gran cantidad de vigas a la vista, el cómodo salón tiene una estufa de leña en una chimenea de granito que ofrece el lugar perfecto para relajarse después de un largo día en la playa o caminando por el camino costero.

Hay tres habitaciones ubicadas en 2 niveles en la planta baja y en el primer piso, con capacidad para 5 personas, solo niños en las literas (se recomienda una edad de 4 a 15 años). La propiedad no es adecuada para niños pequeños (menores de cuatro años) y ancianos / enfermo debido a pasos empinados. Chicas en brazos bienvenidas.

Habitación doble en la planta baja tiene una cama de 4 pies; El dormitorio principal en el primer piso tiene un doble de 4 pies y 6 pulgadas y el dormitorio tres, también en el primer piso, está equipado con literas adecuadas para niños mayores de cuatro años.

En el piso inferior, se accede a través de la escalera baja original del siglo XIX (¡cuidado con la cabeza!) Es una cocina moderna, bien equipada y totalmente equipada, lavadero con lavavajillas y lavadora y baño familiar con calefacción por suelo radiante.

La propiedad se calienta eléctricamente en todo momento, lo que proporciona un ambiente cálido y acogedor para cualquier temporada y en invierno, se proporciona una canasta de troncos en caso de que desee tostar los dedos de los pies junto al fuego.

Un televisor inteligente con TDT, reproductor de DVD completo con una variedad de DVD, sistema de música blutooth, libros y juegos están disponibles para que usted y su familia se entretengan.

The house was great, it was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen and bathroom are new and up to date. Comfortable beds and 2 minutes walk from the harbour.....what more could you want! The staircase to the kitchen and bathroom is steep with a low ceiling, so only the able bodied and sure footed should visit, but we loved the charm of it and reversing into the kitchen :). Would recommend

Great location, lovely cottage, and super clean!

We had such a wonderful time at the cottage and in Porthleven! Thanks to Maria’s tips in advance, a very comfortable check-in and the easy communication throughout we were able to enjoy our stay from the very beginning on. The cottage is very well equipped (we are a family of five), especially the kitchen provides everything one could hope for and washer and dryer were a great asset as well. The location is perfect (everything from supermarket to harbour and beach is just a short 5 min. walk away) and Porthleven is a very charming town. We were particularly happy about the cleanliness of the cottage. It’s a bit unusual to have kitchen and bathroom all the way downstairs - and the stairs would be too steep for smaller kids. Also, the taller ones of us did hit their heads once or twice - but it didn‘t take long to get used to ducking your head when entering the bathroom :-)We were super happy with the cottage, would definitely recommend it and would love to come back one day!

Excellent stay

My family and I had an excellent stay in Porthleven. The house was lovely, very clean, and it had everything we needed for a week away from home. The location is excellent and it was just a few minutes walk to the harbour. We couldn’t always get parked on the street that the house is on, but we did manage to park each night in the street behind if needed which wasn’t a big deal. We messaged the hosts a couple of times and I have to say that they were excellent. They replied quickly each time and they were super accommodating. Overall we had an excellent stay, and I would highly recommend this property and hosts.

Perfekter Urlaub!

Porthleven ist der ideale Ort um Urlaub in Cornwall zu machen! Die Lage ist hervorragend, man kann in alle Richtungen ausschwärmen oder aber auch vor Ort bleiben und an den wunderbaren Sandstrand gehen, den Küstenpfad erkunden oder das Hafentreiben beobachten. Es gibt tolle urige Pubs, schicke Restaurants, hübsche kleine Geschäfte und an jeder Ecke tolle Ausblicke aufs Meer! Am Abend hat man absolute Ruhe in der Wohnung oder man geht nochmal runter zum Hafen und erlebt ein liebevoll mit bunten Lichtern geschmücktes Fischerdörfchen, das so romantisch strahlt, dass man sich einfach wohlfühlen muss!! Wir hatten das Glück fast 2 Wochen bestes Sommerwetter zu haben und wollten gar nicht mehr heim! Cornwall ist traumhaft schön und Rob und Maria waren die besten Gastgeber! Es fehlte an nichts, sie waren immer erreichbar und wir können sie und ihr süßes, Cottage nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen! Herzlichen Dank für einen traumhaften Urlaub, wir würden gern wieder kommen! Amazing place to recharge

What can we say we had amazing weather a small fishing town with everything you need and dogs are welcome but not on certain beaches during the summer months .The beaches are stunning and the sea so clean Loved every minute 👍👍👍

A little gem

A wonderful quirky property in a perfect location, just a stones throw from the Harbour. Beautifully clean, the property was exactly as listed. Definitely not for really tall people or little ones due to the height of ceilings, steepness of stairs and layout of property, but was perfect for us! We all loved our little home for the week. Maria and Robert were more than accommodating when we had some personal issues trying to check out - we can't thank them enough! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will definitely return ❤

Only minutes from the harbour with shops,pubs,cafes and restaurants.Lovely views and coastal walks.

Very clean with all the essentials for self catering. The cottage has been refurbished to an excellent standard but has retained original features. It was comfortable and just a lovely place to stay. We would certainly recommend it to others looking for a holiday in this part of Cornwall. The owners were friendly and easy to speak with and we were given details of their house keeper in case we had any problems. We have no complaints at all.

Insects found in bed

Sadly the review of this property is skewed by the fact that on the last day we found our bed to infested by what looked like caterpillars of some description. There was also a strong smell of damp in this room, which we were willing to overlook until this happened. Thankfully the room our daughters shared didn’t have any issues. It is a real shame that this occurred, as the cottage by and large was quirky and nice. Albeit if you are over 6ft tall you will struggle going down to the kitchen and bathroom. The location is excellent and very convenient for the town with its lovely harbour and restaurants. It’s also a good for exploring Penzance, lands end and other towns around the area. We brought this to the attention of the owners 24hrs ago and sadly they haven’t got back to us, but their representative was very helpful at the time. We would certainly return to the area and recommend, but not at this property. Overall a great holiday ruined at the end by the disgusting finds in our bed.

Fabulous!

The prettiest cottage ever. Absolutely spotless & so welcoming & well equipped. Owners & housekeeper lovely to deal with. Porthleven is gorgeous - stunning cliff top walks & such a pretty harbour & beach. There is a dog friendly beach too - walkable from cottage. Helston really lovely too - boating lake & a brilliant free museum. Best holiday ever.

Lovely comfortable cottage in great location

We had a great week in Porthleven - a lovely spot with the cottage 5 minutes walk from the harbour. The cottage was warm, cosy, spotlessly clean and with everything you need - exactly as described. Tastefully decorated, period features yet with all mod cons. Strongly recommended and hope to return another time.

Sehr hübsches, liebevoll eingerichtetes Cottage in toller Lage

Das Cottage ist wunderschön und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Anreise war sehr unkompliziert und auch noch spät möglich. Vielen lieben Dank dafür! Mit Kindern ideal: Der Weg in Ort, Hafen und zum Strand ist sehr kurz. Sehr gute und hilfreiche Tipps für Ausflüge sind im Cottage zu finden. Wir haben die Zeit in Porthleven sehr genossen. Great week in Porthleven

Very much enjoyed our week in this property. It has everything you could possibly need and location is good. Just found it slightly challenging due to height issues. Porthleven is beautiful with numerous stunning beaches within easy reach.

Really enjoyed our stay in 7Thomas street Porthleven,top marks for cleaning,spotless.Close to all the amenities the only one thing I would comment on is when returning back to cottage it is difficult to park close too, however we always did find somewhere.

We was lucky with the weather we did lots of rocking pooling with our grandson. We had to leave early (Friday) as our grandson was unwell and was advised to go home .Our only concern was the parking We was told parking outside house but only if you could find a space Some days we had to park up the hill .

Lovely well equipped cottage in close proximity to all Porthleven has to offer!

Really enjoyed our week in this cottage, everything was as described and really was well equipped with everything you require. A short walk takes you right into Porthleven Harbour where you find shops, lovely restaurants and pubs. Would definitely stay again!

My wife and I first holidayed in Porthleven in 2012 and have been returning every year since; our friends auntie, Maggie, owned the cottage and we always had a wonderfully relaxing time, a true home from home.
When we learned the cottage was for sale we took the opportunity to purchase a small piece of the wonderful harbour town of Porthleven and we now consider it our very own An Diank Meur (Great Escape, in Cornish).
We never tire of returning to Porthleven to enjoy the wonderful scenery and costal walks with our cocker spaniel.
It is a real home-from-home for all the family to enjoy, we hope you love it as much as we do.

We fell in love with the cottage whilst holidaying here and we loved its cosy
interior and wonderful location so close to the harbour, the beach and lovely local pubs and restaurants.
The cottage was aptly named An Diank Meur (Cornish for The Great Escape) and we have found this to be true because as soon as you step through the door you escape the real world and relaaax.
