Despite seriously average weather, the stay was amazing. Porthleven is delightful and the property is very well situated with a pleasant large garden .

Thank-you for your kind review. I'm glad you had a good stay.
Comfortable bungalow with own parking. Very warm and roomy apart from bathroom and toilet which was very small. Lovely garden and outlook across fields.
Nice house, equipped with all you need. A few minutes walk to the centre of Porthleven and to the coastal path but very quiet place. Good Connection to the next cities and villages so could start hiking from Porthleven and return by bus.
Lovely area, very close to harbour and large garden for pets. Garden isnt secure if your pets have a habit of wandering but otherwise the property was fantastic.
Kitchen is great but was lacking in tools, lids for the large pans, small radiator falling off wall outside bathroom, down lights in kitchen under benches not working and outside light not working, garden a bit overgrown to front with large bramble/rose across stair to front door.

Thank-you for your review.
I do apologise for the state of the garden. Unfortunately, our regular gardener is indisposed, and the replacement we found has let us down. We hope to have this remedied soon.
We recently had a broken wall light in the kitchen removed, and the circuit to it which also included the cabinet downlights may have been disabled when this was done.
I will have the radiator checked but as far as I know the only problem with it is that it was mounted slightly crooked in the first place.
I'm a bit surprised by your comment on the kitchen tools. I thought the kitchen was well equipped, and many guests think so too. We recently had a new set of pans (with lids) . These were all in place when we visited ourselves in August.

Wonderful holiday home.
Tara is a wonderfully situated bungalow, a quiet walk down to the harbour and choice of beaches, supported very well by RNLI lifeguards. It is close, within an average 20/25 miles to most towns and attractions.
The bungalow itself is very well equipped for all family needs and a lovely size for youngsters to play. We were two families; grandparents, daughter, son in law, 4 1/2 year old and 7 month old baby but we didn’t feel once on top of each other.
We have had a fabulous fortnight.
Thank you Nick and Gill for allowing us to stay in your wonderful family home.

Not our best experience
Some one trying to make money with out spending any.
Could do with a whole new paint and emulsion throughout.door hinges old and rusted, doors would not stay open.not suitable for dogs as there were no gates on garden.would not recommend for a disabled person.
The bungalow has a large sized kitchen and lounge giving plenty of room. Welcome folder very informative, talking about places to visit from the owners point of view. Really helpful. Also the folder about walks in the area. Plenty of books, DVD's games etc to pass the time if needed. We were disappointed that there wasn't a tumble dryer as the weather turned wet and there was no where to dry wet clothing except outside. Lovely garden but it was not fenced securely so we couldn't let the dog out in a morning without going out with her and ensuring she was on a lead. We had a good week and enjoyed Porthleven very much.

Well equipped bungalow in a convenient location.
Positives: We appreciated that the bungalow was well equipped and the shower room was newly fitted. Lounge and kitchen breakfast rooms are spacious and light. Porthleven is pleasant and in a convenient location for exploring the Lizard and Land's End. We could easily walk into town from the bungalow for shopping and sightseeing.
Negatives: The bedrooms are all small. No wall mirrors apart from one bedroom. Could have done with one near a power socket for doing hair and makeup. Shower room is very small 6 ft square minus 3 ft shower cubicle. Separate loo has no hand basin. Lounge has an unpleasant doggy odour.
A nice bungalow, good size kitchen and lounge. Well equipped but some tired areas, overall comfortable. The garden was big but open to the street one side so not so suitable for our dog. Great location, close to town, harbour, coastal path and a good base for exploring Cornwall
Would you like white or red wine as a gift. Sadly neither was present on arrival. .
Great position, ideal two parking spaces but the shower is very small and as for dog friendly the garden is not fenced off. Our dog is very happily to stay close but others may want to wander off so unable to recommend as pet safe.
Otherwise the property although dated furniture was very adequate for the money.
Bungalow was spotless clean, home from home and a quiet location just a couple of minutes walk down to Porthleven!! if I was being picky I would say it’s a shame the garden was not secure for our dog and the shower is a little small but overall I am very happy with my stay and would certainly book again 😊
Really enjoyed our stay in porthleven. The cottage was in the perfect location to visit lots of places around Cornwall. The cottage needs some work on it and modernising. There was a really bad smell that hit us as soon as we opened the door it was a musty smell but quite strong and the small bedroom was really strong, our daughters were going to have separate rooms but the room smelt so bad they had to sleep together. People have commented on the shower saying it’s small but the shower was excellent..

About the host
Hosted by Nick and Gill Seagrave
This is a family holiday home.
Why they chose this property
This property belonged to our grandparents. They loved living in Cornwall with its mild weather and relaxed way of life.
We have many happy memories of family holidays here for the last 30 years so we have extended and refurbished the property.
Now it is complete family and friends will be visiting regularly, but for the remaining weeks we thought we should give others the opportunity to experience the area.
What makes this property unique
Having a base in such a beautiful location is fabulous and we think the property is perfect for an affordable family holiday.
