About Michael and Consy
I am Michael, a retired cosmopolitan architect and this is the home my grandmother bought, on her travels throughout Italy in the 1860's...she was looking to buy an iron-ore mine and bought this property thinking she could use it as a port. The mine fell through, (not literally!) but the house remained in the family. It is now my home. I was lucky enough to grow up here. Every summer we came down from Florence to spend many months of carefree swimming, beachcombing and lazing around in total freedom, just swimming pants and bare feet. Heavenly.
Michael and Consy purchased this House in 1863
Why Michael and Consy chose San Vincenzo
There aren't many places around that combine such a unique position on an unspoilt beach, in an unspoilt area, with a XVI century Tuscan farmhouse of beautiful proportions. In short, it's the real thing.
What makes this House unique
Where else can you spend your holiday with your feet practically in the sea all day long, at the same time keeping an eye on your children while you eat a delicious lunch in the shade as they play on the beach.

Thank you Gaby and Michael, it was a real pleasure to have you as our guests!

There's a great restaurant in Baratti, right at the end of the port, situated in the old tower, Ristorante Canessa, where you can eat delicious sea food enjoying the view of the sea, the coast, and in the distance the twinkling lights of San Vincenzo. Try it! Here's their phone number: 320 932 8353. Buon appetito!
Oh...an afterthought...if Canessa is full, you can always try their direct competitors, Ristorante La Pergola, which enjoys the view directly over the little port of Baratti. Here's their number; 0565 29596. Delicious food here too.
I nearly forgot...try La Barcaccina restaurant right on the beach in San Vincenzo, a great spot to dine while watching the sun set over the sea, while the lights of Elba twinkle in the distance. Here's the phone number: 0565 701911 and the address: Via Tridentina, 1, 57027 San Vincenzo LI. We like their grilled fish.
