Do you love the Sea.... the salty air? Then you will love your cheerful upstairs apartment in the quaint seaside town of Coupeville. The deck, living room and dining room have full water and mountain views.. this newly renovated apartment was designed to be cozy and comfortable and to meet your every need and to make you feel welcomed and at home.

The private bedroom is roomy and comfortable, has a well appointed Queen bed, and a comfy overstuffed reading chair and a view of the water and the amazing sun sets out one side and historic downtown Coupeville out the other!!

The living room has an American Leather Queen Sleeper Sofa that will comfortably sleep 2 peeps, and a Twin Futon that will nicely accommodate a child or small adult. Be aware, the rates are set for 2 people and there is an extra person charge for more than 2 people.









The small kitchen is "light-duty" only - NO "heavy-duty" cooking or frying! It has everything you need to pull together a simple breakfast or lunch or a light dinner ... or just a few steps away are several exceptional restaurants, many featuring our world famous Penn Cove Mussels!

Charming historic Coupeville - small enough to know you, but big enough to offer unique shops, shopkeepers and experiences!! Come and visit us... we promise to treat you right!

I love Patsy and Larry!
The hosts are so accommodating, kind and friendly. It’s a bonus that they own the wine ship (fabulous Washington based wines!) underneath the apartment. Coupeville is lovely and I plan to come back again!

Great location but loud
This unit is located directly above a a wine shop bar, emphasis on the bar. When we arrived they told us they were having a party on Friday evening which was not a big deal until it started. You could hear every word each of the 20 people downstairs were saying. It was chaos. We had to leave for three hours because it was unreasonably loud. Fortunately the party was over by 800. Otherwise our stay was great. It was very clean and well maintained.

Outstanding getaway location and rental
Coupeville is a special small island town that is clearly loved by its residents and businesses. We loved our rental apartment and the location right on the waterfront! The restaurant next door was wonderful and served up delicious Penn Cove mussels. We were treated to a locals holiday parade that was absolutely delightful and festive!

Cute place for two with easy access to downtown
Loved this place. Will likely book again. It has a nice sitting area and the bedroom is very nice. The kitchen is cute, but no major cooking is allowed. Coffee and tea are provided. From the living are you are able to watch the crowds wandering town. The unit sits above a wine shop and you are able to hear the noise in the unit, but it is not open late. It is a nice place to have a glass.

Absolutely Magical Property
My daughter and I stayed at Vails's View for a girl's getaway and I can't say enough about the delightful experience we had. The apartment is just as pictured, only better in person. It had everything we needed, is so cute and is in the absolutely perfect location to tour Coupeville and the surrounding areas. The views are gorgeous from the apartment. The restaurants and shops are right outside the door and parking was easy and always available. Patsy and Larry are wonderful and fun people and we enjoyed our chats and the delicious wines in their shop. I highly recommend this magical property!

Great place to stay right in the heart of Coupeville! The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We stayed on a Monday/Tuesday and found that some stores are only open Weds-Sun during the off season but the view and the people were lovely!

Excellent small property! Comfortable set up and perfect for a two person weekend getaway. The only criticism--and this is rather minor--would be that the kitchen is tiny and light duty making it unsuitable as the primary source of eating while there. That said, the listing was up front about that and the place is surrounded by excellent dining options. Overall, I give it five stars and would recommend it to others. If we are back in Coupeville, we would certainly stay there again.

Was a bit difficult to move around with my mobility impaired mother, lost our parking spot and wasnt able to come back until the end of the day. Was very very busy labor day weekend. Incredible and relaxing home away from home!
We loved staying at Vails View in Coupeville - it was our first time on Whidbey Island, and this location cannot be beat. We didn't have a car, and we were able to walk everywhere. Waking up with the view of the water out our window was incredible. The kitchen was well stocked, and the apartment is very spacious, especially for a couple. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the quaint town of Coupeville!

Lovely Location
Although the price was more than we normally pay for lodging, it certainly was a convenient and picturesque location. Walking to restaurants, shopping and the adjacent pier as well as the water view made this stay a good choice. I don’t normally use VRBO and I struggled finding how we were to access the apartment once we arrived. Perhaps having the app would have helped. Luckily the owner arrived to assist. Apartment and bed comfortable and the area quiet during our stay. Well supplied. Would recommend. struggled

Beautiful in every way
Beautiful town and fantastic unit. Exactly as described on Verbo. The place was very clean, quiet and supplied with all amenities. Located right in town on the bay. Owners were very friendly. Everything worked out perfectly for me. Highly recommend.

We bought a home and fledgling photography business in 1991.. we packed up our 2 teenage boys and all our worldly goods and moved from Eastern Washington to Whidbey Island where, for the next 20 years, we ran a portrait photography business out of our home.
In 2011, we retired from photography to open a little Washington wine shop and tasting room in the Magical little Seaside town of Coupeville!! January of 2014 we moved our little shop into a much bigger and better location.. across the street.. on the waterside.. with twice the space and a beautiful outdoor patio! In 2015, we bought the 5000 square foot building our wine shop lives in AND we sold our home and moved ourselves into one of the two beautiful upstairs apartments in our building. We renovated the other apartment and are excited to begin sharing it with family and friends and with YOU - our new friends!! Our oldest son and partner continued on in the photography industry and is the one helping us to manage our beautiful new vacation rental - Vail's View!

Why they chose this property

After running our wine shop in Coupeville for 2 years, meeting the other business owners and residents, the many and diverse visitors... we realized we "fit" in this charming, diverse, and very accepting community of people.. We started looking for a way to live here and we found one! We bought a beautiful, historic building on the waterfront side of downtown Coupeville and we can't wait to share it with you!!
