Do you love the Sea.... the salty air? Then you will love your cheerful upstairs apartment in the quaint seaside town of Coupeville. The deck, living room and dining room have full water and mountain views.. this newly renovated apartment was designed to be cozy and comfortable and to meet your every need and to make you feel welcomed and at home.

The private bedroom is roomy and comfortable, has a well appointed Queen bed, and a comfy overstuffed reading chair and a view of the water and the amazing sun sets out one side and historic downtown Coupeville out the other!!

The living room has an American Leather Queen Sleeper Sofa that will comfortably sleep 2 peeps, and a Twin Futon that will nicely accommodate a child or small adult. Be aware, the rates are set for 2 people and there is an extra person charge for more than 2 people.









The small kitchen is "light-duty" only - NO "heavy-duty" cooking or frying! It has everything you need to pull together a simple breakfast or lunch or a light dinner ... or just a few steps away are several exceptional restaurants, many featuring our world famous Penn Cove Mussels!

Charming historic Coupeville - small enough to know you, but big enough to offer unique shops, shopkeepers and experiences!! Come and visit us... we promise to treat you right!

first visit to Coupeville

perfect location for an exploratory trip to Coupeville. We enjoyed walking through downtown and into the adjoining neighborhood. Very quiet location, highly recommended.

This was our second stay at Vail's View and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Patsy and Larry are delightful and thoughtful hosts and the apartment is adorable. It's located right on the main street of Coupeville, in perfect proximity to restaurants, shopping, taking walks and easy access to exploring the rest of the island. The view of Penn Cove is stunning with a cute balcony overlooking the cove. The apartment has everything you need, so cute, very comfortable and well appointed. Plus Patsy and Larry own and run the wine shop downstairs. A nice bonus! Vail's View is the perfect place to stay and return to after a day exploring Whidbey Island. Highly recommend!

Wonderful weekend getaway

Our weekend stay at Vail’s View was great! The description and pictures are very accurate to what the property offers which doesn’t disappoint. Walk to everything and a bonus is having Vail wine shop for tasting and more just steps away.

Best Location

We love staying in this one bedroom unit in Coupeville. The location is ideal and the small balcony with table and a glass of wine and the best view few ever; is hard to duplicate. Short walk to the best restaurants in town; Front St., Grill and oystercatcher. We would definitely stay there again.

This apartment had everything we needed for two nights on the water. Next door to great dining, close to the bookstore and when it wasn’t raining we had a lovely walk right on the beach. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay! The vrbo was wonderful and comfortable. Our hosts were fantastic, helpful and we felt like we left as friends. Coupeville is a wonderful town with great food and sites. Whidbey Island has great hiking and site seeing as well. I suggest going downstairs to the Wine tasting room and visiting with your hosts. Have fun and relax.

Peaceful escape

Incredible and relaxing home away from home!

We loved staying at Vails View in Coupeville - it was our first time on Whidbey Island, and this location cannot be beat. We didn't have a car, and we were able to walk everywhere. Waking up with the view of the water out our window was incredible. The kitchen was well stocked, and the apartment is very spacious, especially for a couple. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the quaint town of Coupeville!

The perfect location for a relaxing vacation

The property is right on the cute downtown strip, you can walk to dinner or a drink or just pop downstairs for a glass of wine. You are literally on the water. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Parking was a breeze, even during the busy time the furthest we had to park was a block away, most the time we got a spot right out front. The owners are great and it was fun to chat with them while wine tasting in their shop. We will definitely be staying here again and suggesting it to friends.

We bought a home and fledgling photography business in 1991.. we packed up our 2 teenage boys and all our worldly goods and moved from Eastern Washington to Whidbey Island where, for the next 20 years, we ran a portrait photography business out of our home.
In 2011, we retired from photography to open a little Washington wine shop and tasting room in the Magical little Seaside town of Coupeville!! January of 2014 we moved our little shop into a much bigger and better location.. across the street.. on the waterside.. with twice the space and a beautiful outdoor patio! In 2015, we bought the 5000 square foot building our wine shop lives in AND we sold our home and moved ourselves into one of the two beautiful upstairs apartments in our building. We renovated the other apartment and are excited to begin sharing it with family and friends and with YOU - our new friends!! Our oldest son and partner continued on in the photography industry and is the one helping us to manage our beautiful new vacation rental - Vail's View!

Why they chose this property

After running our wine shop in Coupeville for 2 years, meeting the other business owners and residents, the many and diverse visitors... we realized we "fit" in this charming, diverse, and very accepting community of people.. We started looking for a way to live here and we found one! We bought a beautiful, historic building on the waterfront side of downtown Coupeville and we can't wait to share it with you!!
