Great property and fantastic host!
We had a great trip and throughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Great/new kitchen, large comfortable living room, and plenty of comfortable beds. I definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting the Julian or Lake Cuyamaca area!
We had a relaxing and fun stay in this home. It's conveniently located to Julian, where we had great BBQ and apple pies, and to many sections of the PCT for hiking. The hike had everything we needed and more 😊.
The house was amazing. Great for families with kids. Had everything you could need.
The house was very impressive. Bigger than expected.. I recommend it highly. Really only one issue. The upstairs never really got warm. We didn’t get very lucky with the weather. But still had a great time.

Peaceful and serene lake house
We came here to spend a quiet weekend before our baby arrives in a few weeks. This was exactly what we needed! Across the street from lake cuyamaca, we were greeted right away by wild turkeys. We drove 10 minutes to Julian to grab dinner and when we got back, there was an owl in the car port, hooting away. At night, you could hear the coyotes talking to each other, which was absolutely breathtaking! The next day, we made our way to a local orchard and picked some apples and a frozen Apple pie. We came back to the house in the late afternoon and cooked up the pie. We then went for a nice stroll down to the lake. I brought the bird reference sheet that's near the fireplace and we spotted tons of birds in the area. We ate at the very close Lake Cuyamaca diner and walked back. We saw the owl again at the house, spent another cool and peaceful evening and left the next morning. If you are looking for a beautiful and serene setting, a place to get away from it all, this is where you want to go. The interior design is comforting and clean. Furniture is new, linens are clean, dishes are plentiful and clean. I wish this were my house and this is what I came home to every day!
We had a fantastic time at this cozy little cabin. Our group of six adults had enough room to sleep, play and relax.
The balcony was not in service but this place was so great it didn’t impact our stay. Many of loved that there was carpet instead of all hardwood.
Great location with soft beds which were a great comfort after a day of boating on the lake.
Minor complaint was not enough towels and no dish towels to be found or hard to find.
Overall, highly recommend and we will be back. Thank you so much!

What a great place! I don't think the pictures do it justice. The house is very spacious! Our family had such a great time. About 10 minutes to Julian. Very close/easy walk to Lake Cuyamaca, views from the dining room and bedroom. Everything was very easy...reservations, confirmations, instructions on how to get in, etc. We didn't need it, but there is a nice playroom for kids, games and DVD's.
We just picked this place blindly, based on needs and reviews and we were very impressed and would recommend and return to this rental.

Great cabin!
The house is very big, the kitchen dining and living room area makes it perfect to hangout with the family. The deck is nice too and there are plenty of toys and a swing that were great to entertain our kids. Thank you Barbara!

Great if you don’t mind being off the grid
We had a wonderful stay, however an important note, there is no WIFI on the property and the TV only takes DVDs, so come prepared to be off the grid and enjoy the quiet. Overall the beds and bathrooms were very clean and well kept. The kitchen had a few dirty dishes in the cabinets and a portion of the fridge froze one section of our the food we brought. The other disappointing item was we tried to get in for an early check-in, Zora said to simply call that morning and she would let us know but when we left her a voicemail and text she did not return our messages. Other than that we had a great time. We would return if WIFI was installed.

Great location. We'ld gladly return.
Our family loved the size of the house, nice open space. Location near the lake was great. Parking was not the most conducive for a regular car but we managed.

Ahhhh..... so peaceful!
We stayed in this home in February 2017. Even though the weather was rainy it didn't dampen our spirits thanks to this amazing home! We enjoyed the beautiful lake view and hiking around the area. It was so nice to stop our hectic lives and soak in the warm fire as we made a puzzle and played cards. The home was much larger than expected and we loved the open feeling it gave us.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Retreat
This house was the scenic getaway this family of city-folk needed. The house is super clean, with plenty of room for larger families, and our family loved hanging out together in the super comfortable living room.
We woke up to deer in the front yard the first morning, and my kids were able to see wild turkeys the next morning. We also loved feeding the bids off the big deck, including our favorite, hummingbirds, and the bird guide that was in the house was a great resource (Thanks Laura!).
Just minutes from Julian, we were able to get some of the best apple pie and cider money can buy, while also getting to enjoy the small-town feel. One of the things the adults enjoyed the most was being able to disconnect and enjoy the peace, quiet, and sheer beauty of the area, as you are just a short walk away from Lake Cuyamaca.
Believe it not, the drive into San Diego to enjoy the beach, zoo, or safari park is very manageable, so we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, even if we were making plans in the city. However, next time, we plan to spend more time at the house, enjoying the comfort, beauty, and quiet!

Perfet getaway for our family
THE FRESH AIR!!! We loved our time at this house. The area is absolutely gorgeous. The house is very comfortable and clean with everything we needed, also spacious and well maintained. There's a nice deck off of the family room for outside hanging. Extremely quiet - best sleep I'd had in a while. There is a play room for the kids stocked with some toys and books. We met wild turkeys and deer around the property each day. There are several homes in the vicinity, but it still feels secluded. An easy walk to the lake and you can hike, fish, and eat at the lakeside restaurant. We went into Julian for a stroll around town and to get some pie/beer/etc, but honestly wished we had just stayed at the house for more tranquility. It's such an easy and perfect escape from the city for us. We will definitely book again.

Amazing property
I can vouch for this place, owners are the best at making sure EVERYTHING is taken care of. Not a detail gets overlooked. And the view is perfect. I love it there and I am certain you would too. So much nicer than a hotel and it's not too far away !
