About the property

In Marigny Triangle. Really cool and charming 2 bdrm 2 bth/ aprox 1200 Sq. Feet

The 12 foot ceilings, re-finished original red pine floors, 2 original (decorative) fireplaces have a very warm and inviting feel from the moment you walk in. You will find the furnishings tasteful and so comfortable that you will be glad to return home after a busy day or late night. Living room has Harmon Kardon BT speaker, flat screen TV with cable and HBO. A small galley kitchen is stocked with anything you might need to cook a meal. There is a coffee bar is the dining room stocked with coffee or tea and a dining table that seats 6. Both bedrooms have an en suite, very comfortable mattresses with Egyptian cotton sheets. and a TV in both bedrooms. In the hallway is a workspace with a PC and printer. There is a small private courtyard in the back off the second bedroom thats great for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Washer and dryer are off the courtyard. There are 3 security cameras outside. I have a parking pass for 1 vehicle which is golden in NOLA and MUST be left inside when you check out ( $250 fee if it disappears). $25 fee for early check in late check out/luggage storage if available.

I have a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment with a private entrance and a balcony available independently or combined with main house to accommodate a larger group. It has the same amenities and is a very cool space.

About Pam Johnston

New Orleans has been a part of me from the first time I visited. I love great food, music and football so its a natural fit. I was so fortunate and excited to have found this home that I decided to share it with others when I wasn't there. Its called the Big Easy for a reason. No worries. I have meet some really cool people and have really enjoyed listening to people describe their time in NOLA. Gotta love the Saints for better or worse. Been going since I was a kid. WHO DAT!!! Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!!

Pam Johnston purchased this house in 2015

Why Pam Johnston chose Faubourg Marigny

When this property became available I was so excited at the possibility of having a place in NOLA and being in this location made it even better. It was one of those things that just fell into place. It was such a fun project. You couldn't pick on a map a better location. It's amazing to me every time I walk out the door. Steps away from the French Quarter and Frenchmen but still has a cool neighborhood feel .

What makes this house unique

Of course the location is prime but in addition, the history of the house, the red pine floors and tall ceilings like made it feel like home when I was searching for a property. The original fireplaces (although decorative now) are beautiful and add to the charm of the home. And most important, LOCATION, LOCATION,LOCATION!

What an amazing home — and so close to everything we wanted

  • 5 of 5

We loved this property! Absolutely perfect for our group of 4 and so close to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter.

We loved the historic charm of the home and the thoughtful appointments throughout. The surrounding neighborhood was great. We also loved working with Pam — who thought of everything we needed for our stay.

We highly recommend the Jazzy Sweet Spot for anyone visiting New Orleans.

Owner's Response: Sounds like you had a great time even though your trip was a little shorter than originally planned. My house is great for couples with each bedroom having its own bathroom. I must admit that I’m somewhat perplexed about a 4 Star review but glad you enjoyed your first VRBO experience. Hope to see you again. Pam

Great fun location to enjoy NOLA!

  • 5 of 5

First, Pam is a great communicator and made us feel very welcome. Second, the location was perfect for our group of four attending the jazz fest. It is in a nice neighborhood and close to everything but not too close to rambunctious activities. It is next door to a great neighborhood bar, which we enjoyed immensely, but the noise is not a factor when inside the living space. The apartment itself is styled very nicely, has everything we needed. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom which is very nice for 2 couples. Backyard small patio to soak up morning sun. We loved hanging out in the apartment itself between activities. We cannot recommend enough. We will definitely be planning on return visit!

Stayed for JazzFest. Excellent location close to heart of NOLA but in a quiet neighborhood. We had 4 people in two bedrooms and it was the perfect stay.

A lovely N.O. apartment with an incredible location. Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

Simply put, we plan to rent this apartment again. It was clean, orderly, lovingly put together and perfect for two couples. As you can see from the pictures, it is exactly what you'd expect an apartment in a historic building to be; it has high ceilings, beautiful old wood floors and tall windows in the living room. It also has two modern, clean bathrooms, a small up to date kitchen, truly comfortable beds and air conditioning. And the bedrooms are quiet. .

One of the best aspects of this apartment is its location. It is one block from Esplanade Ave., one of the streets that borders the French Quarter. From the front door, you make a right, walk 60 feet and take another right onto Royal. In around six blocks you are in the heart of the French Quarter. If you do not turn onto Royal, go straight and you'll come to Frenchman St. in a block or two. It is the best new place for music and partying. If you want to go to another location in town, I recommend Uber and the streetcar on St. Charles, the best way to see the Garden District. I always like to know the layout. Basically, this is a shotgun house, so there's little space between buildings on each side. That means the interior rooms have little natural light. However the front living room and the back bedroom have plenty of natural light, so our group had no problem with the layout. The living room has large windows that look onto the street The next room from the street is the dining room, from which you enter the middle bedroom, kitchen and hallway to the back bedroom In the dining room, to the left of the large wall piece is the door to the middle bedroom. We slept there because it has a bathroom with a tub. On the left wall of the dining room are the kitchen and the entrance to the hallway for the second bedroom. This back bedroom has a bathroom with a large shower.

Lastly, there is a small grocery two blocks away on Esplanade that's open late and, if you go a block or two further, there's Buffa's with great music and no cover. The regular Thursday evening due--clarinet and piano--is as good at it gets. I cannot wait to get back.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review Cynthia. My house really is in the best location. While it's not a true shotgun ( you don't have to go thru one bedroom to get to the other bedroom) it is similar. There is so much music in the area it's hard to pick. Hope to have you back again. Pam

My house is in the Marigny Triangle. The most convenient location in NOLA. It's 1 block from French Quarter and 1.5 blocks from Frenchmen. Located between Bourbon and Royal. Close to some of the best restaurants and music you will find anywhere. Snug Harbor, Spotted Cat, d.b.a on Frenchmen or Restaurant R'evolution, Arnaud's, Antione's and G W Finns in the French Quarter just to name a few.
