Yet again, another memorable New Orleans stay. We found the home to be very comfortable and nicely remodeled, while the character of this 150+ year old home is preserved.
The home is very centrally located. It is one block off of the St Charles line, which is a great east/west transportation choice for the visitor, and fare is $1.25/$3 for an all day pass. It is a very scenic line that runs all the way from the outskirts of Loyola (to the west) to Canal Street , which starts the French Quarter.
A 6 block walk towards the river puts you in the more vibrant area of Magazine Street. Great shopping, dining, and scenic Garden District walks. The area also contains the most historic cemetaries, which is a quintessential tourist activity.
The home is stocked with everything you need. A very nice supply of linens and supplies. The kitchen is well stocked, although we find the massive number of eateries in New Orleans too good to pass up.
A point of note: The layers of floors and stairwells add to the charm of these old properties. Since the main bedroom is accessed by the main stairwell, it will prove challenging for people who have difficulty walking or climbing stairs.
