Strictly non-smoking anywhere on the property

Quiet enjoyment...no late night loud parties. I love my neighbors

And sorry but no pets of any kind on the property

I like this home so much that I kept it to live in and to rent when I'm out of town. It was so popular that I bought the one next to it.

I've never enjoyed living anywhere more than this house.

We are always sorry to disappoint our guests and do what we can to accommodate their concerns.

In this case our guests didn’t notice the two front doors or that it was a much larger house than the interior pictures would indicate. We send quite a few pictures in advance.

We have since tried to be much clearer to avoid potential confusion in the future.

We would like to please all of our guests but realize that sometimes we won’t succeed. When asked to take a $900 loss by fully refunding three days because of a misperception we probably won’t meet expectations. We were happy to give up half that amount and work harder to improve.

Very nice home and owner was very responsive

We were there for work but enjoyed staying at the house. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. The home is located only a block away from the beach.

Property was very clean and have good stuff inside but it didn't meet expectations.

When I reached the property the big disappointment was it was divided into house you have a smaller please to live in. When entered in the property I was atleast happy looking at it cleanliness and overall amenities. But sooner the impression changed. Sleeping beds were not comfortable, mattress were making noice, air conditioner was not cooling bedroom and other floors, a lot of bees were there, internet was also very poor. It's not worth the money I spent.

Owner's Response: Always sorry to disappoint a guest. I'll have maintenance address the beds and the bees. Other guests haven't mentioned a problem with internet speed in the past but I'll find out why it was slow for them. Regarding the size of the home, perhaps our guest missed the property description that said this is a twin home sharing a common porch.

Nice stay

Very nice units (1914 is nicer if you get to choose). Nice appliances. Could use a little more detail to cleaning and some new wash cloths.

Terrific location!

We enjoyed our stay. The house is perfect for 4 couples so that each couple has their own room. We had 5 couples, which was a little cozy. The location is fantastic - very close to the beach. We enjoyed the front porch. Would be even better if there was a back patio.

Recommend NOT renting

In 8 years renting through VRBO, we have never had a negative experience...until now. We were meeting family to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary and after seeing the pictures and description, we thought this would be a great place. What a mistake. This property is described as a house, but it is duplex/twin home. The owner is in the real estate business and when we called him to discuss our concerns he vehemently argued that it was as advertised and that we should have been able to decipher from the pictures the actual details of the layout. Note: At the time of our rental, the posted exterior photos only showed the property from an angle that did not show the second front door. Interestingly, the owner notes that this property is advertised on other sites, which we checked, and the long term rental sites have a picture posted squarely of the front of the property showing the two front doors.

The bigger issue was how the owner handled the situation. We only stayed one night (simply because we arrived at night and had a toddler to get to bed) and called the owner first thing in the morning to discuss the discrepancies. We offered to pay for the night we stayed and the cleaning fee and requested a full refund for the remaining 3 nights. The owner said he would have to consider that offer and would get back to us at 3pm. That wasted an entire day of our vacation and only added to the stress of the situation. He talked about needing to get some sort of statement drafted that we had to agree to sign stating that we were "happy with the outcome" so that should we write a negative review, he could post that as proof that we were "happy." We declined to do so. We accepted the best the owner would offer, which was to refund only 50% of the final 3 nights. We took a big financial loss simply to leave.

The other issue was it didn't feel like a safe area. When we drove up there were numerous police cars, and officers on both foot and ATVs at Buckroe Beach (three blocks away). When we asked an officer what was going on they said the beach is closed from sunset to sunrise so they were sweeping the area after a concert.

If we could give no stars we would but the system requires at least a one. Save your money and time and go elsewhere.
