VÀlkommen till vÄr Costa Rica Villa retrÀtt. Vi ligger cirka 10 minuter norr om Tamarindo, som Àr en livlig surfstad, dÀr du och din familj kan njuta av mÄnga restauranger, butiker, spa och ett roligt nattliv vid stranden. Vi Àr en kort enkel resa till mer Àn Ätta av de bÀsta strÀnderna lÀngs "Guldkusten" i Guanacaste. Perfekt för surfing, snorkling, kajakpaddling, paddling eller bara koppla av. Vi hade det lyckliga alternativet att köpa var som helst runt Tamarindo och valde detta omrÄde eftersom vi Àlskar staden Tamarindo och allt liv och rörelse men vi ville inte leva mitt i det. Vi föredrog att bo pÄ ett lugnt, centralt lÀge med en kort och enkel körning till alla fantastiska strÀnder och aktiviteter. NÀr du bor i vÄr villa fÄr du ocksÄ Dominic, han kan vara din personliga concierge i Costa Rica. Dominic talar flera sprÄk och har omfattande lokala kontakter för hyrbilar, vulkanÀventyr, fiske- och segelbÄtar, surflektioner och praktiskt taget allt annat du behöver eller kanske vill göra. Beautiful Property

This was a wonderful stay, the property had absolutely everything we as a family needed to enjoy our vacation, Daniel was such a pleasure to meet, we loved Pantera visits, the property is close to everything - gas station, grocery stores, Tamarindo is about 10 min away max, pool is very nice too, with iguanas visiting all the time, we loved the stay , highly recommend, thank you!!!

Spectacular

Place was awesome and just a short drive to many awesome beaches. Far enough away from town where we felt like we were experiencing the Costa Rican jungle. Pool and deck spaces were swesome. .

Monkey Paradise

We loved our stay at Casa Castaway. Our favorite part was the space in the home for 3 adults and 3 BIG KIDS:):) We got to see the monkeys during the am and pm moving their families down the creek. This was a very peaceful location far enough away from Tamarindo beach to enjoy without the large crowd. We look forward to staying here again.

Amazing home that’s close to everything!

Our family absolutely loved Casa Castaway! We visited 6 different beaches in 5 days and loved every second! Our 2 teenage daughters loved having their own bathroom and space, and the 3 outdoor decks were both super for dining and relaxing! The home is close to the supermarket with made cooking and packing sandwiches and snacks for the beaches a breeze. Dominic is the secret sauce to this property, visiting daily to help arrange activities including a lovely sunset cruise, beach horseback riding and snorkeling! The dining options close by in both Huacas and Tamarindo were fantastic. This is our 2nd time to Casa Castaway and we are already planning our next trip back!

Best house we’ve stayed EVER.

If you're searching for the perfect Costa Rica home base, look no further. Our family of six (43, 42, 16, 13, 13 and 13) were blown away by this property and it was one of the many highlights of the our first trip to Costa Rica. The property is perfect. Communication between the owner and property manager, Dominic, was outstanding. Dominic is so welcoming and his dog, Pantera, was our girls friend for 9 days. Our family felt this was our favorite vacation ever and the best house we've ever rented. We are thankful for the hospitality and cannot wait to return! 6 stars!

The Perfect Home Away From Home

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely property! The location is perfectly located and just a $10-$15 Uber ride to various towns and beautiful beaches. It’s also right next to Guanacaste Children's Community Center, which was a big plus for our young kids! The house itself was wonderful! We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower and the nice lounge area by the pool, which was ideal for relaxing and catching up on naps. The daily pool service was a great touch, keeping everything clean and inviting. We were delighted by the abundance of wildlife around the property, which added a special charm to our stay. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to cook meals at home. Multiple surfboards, snorkel sets, and beach necessities made our days at the beach feel like we were locals. The property literally comes with everything you could ever need for a home away from home. Dominic and Maria were such a delight and provided us with plenty of recommendations for local dining and activities. Their hospitality truly enhanced our experience. We felt well taken care of and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique, equipped, and convenient rental!

Breathtakingly beautiful, a lifetime of memories! #pura vida!

I don't even know where to start. First off Al was amazing during the whole booking process. His home is next to extrodinary and is set in a gorgeous remote and private area. Dominic the house manager who lives next door is one of the most real and kind people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He went out of his way multiple times to make sure our stay was extrodinary. We visited five different beaches all within a half hour of the rental house. Tamarindo itself is a gorgeous little surf town with tons of character and charm. The locals are like family if you make the effort and our group actually met and exchanged contact information with multiple locals we met throughout our stay. HIGHLY recommend renting a vehicle. We made the mistake despite reading the reviews and did not purchase a rental. Everything is close by but definitely not walking distance especially if you are carrying coolers. Again I couldn't recommend this place more. I have memories that I get to share with my two brothers and their significant others that will never fade away. The laughter and love of the locals is contagious. Until next time Costa Rica! Pura Vida!

Wonderful Home!

We just got back from one of the best family vacations we have ever had (2 adults, 2 tweens, and 2 teens)! Al's house was perfect for us and is in a great location! It's close to all of the beaches, and only a few minutes drive to Tamarindo which has shops, surfing, beach, boogie boarding and restaurants. Dominic is the property manager, and was beyond helpful with setting up snorkeling tours, horseback riding, zipline tours, the rental car, etc. Everything we needed, we went to Dominic and he knew how to take care of us. The house was beautiful! We had breakfast, lunch and BBQ dinner out on the patio, and the house had pots, pans, and a BBQ grill so we could cook meals there. Al was accessible and even texted me throughout the trip to make sure we were having a good time. When we got there, Dominic was there to greet us and make sure our rental car was set up for us, and that our plans for the week were solidified. We dropped our bags, got in the rental car, and headed straight to the beach where the kids played in the waves, and then we walked a few short steps to dinner. The next day we went to Playa Conchal, which is a short drive from the house. There they have snorkeling, jet skiing and four-wheelers (Dominic helped us plan our week and recommended this! I would too!). We did it all! So fun! The house is central to all the local beaches, so everywhere we went was a short drive. We did a sunset cruise, which Dominic also helped set up, and it was absolutely perfect...snorkeling, dinner, and jumping off the boat was a perfect for our family vacation. The house comes stocked with beach toys, beach towels and everything we needed for a stress-free vacation. Thank you Al and Dominic for the best time in Costa Rica ever!

Fantastic, comfortable home great for two families. Only 10 minutes from the beach!

What a fantastic home and location in Costa Rica and only 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo! This was our second trip to Costa Rica in the past two years and we found this home perfect for our group of eight (2 families) to base out of. The upstairs master bedroom/bathroom are huge with its own private deck and additional loft space up above that our oldest son loved. An additional deck upstairs was used to watch howler monkeys every morning give us a private show of their antics, truly an unforgettable experience. The main level of the house has a very functional kitchen with tons of windows and a good sized living room with lots of seating (hard to find in CR rentals). There is a covered deck off the living area where we ate breakfast every morning and watched the wildlife, the ceiling fan over the deck help keep things cool. There is an additional large bedroom and bathroom on the ground level and a smaller bedroom with bunkbeds for four that was perfect for our group. The house also has a very large washer and dryer which came in handy and allowed us to pack less for this trip. We also loved that the house had Wi-Fi and a Sonos speaker that allowed us to stream our own music so every night became a dance party! We had friends who stayed in town in Tamarindo and it's very hectic and loud there so we appreciated the serenity of this home, it felt like our own private estate. There is also a caretaker who lives nearby who was very helpful in setting up excursions for us, definitely take advantage of this as it saved us a lot of money and time. One more bonus: there is a modern grocery store and gas station five minutes from the house on the way to Tamarindo so very convenient. A few suggestions on things to do: sunset sail out of Flamingo Beach, our excursion included snorkeling with a dive master, kayaking, and swimming on a private beach with howler monkeys everywhere. Surf lessons at Playa Grande, we went with Latitude surfing and they were great for our group of seven kids, ages 10-18. Jungle River Cruise in Palo Verde National Park, we saw lots of crocs, white faced and howler monkeys, bats and lizards. We also had the most authentic, home cooked, Costa Rican meal of the trip after the cruise (included in the price). Horse back riding at sunset on the beach in Tamarindo, unforgettable experience. And check out the estuary in Tamarindo during low tide and you are sure to see tons of crabs.

Wonderful Vacation !!

We cannot say enough about Casa Castaway!!Alfons was very helpful with his recommendations from grocery shopping to restaurants and all the beautiful beaches that are in the area . The villa is amazing, comfortable and very clean , everything you can think of is there at your disposal. A home away from home .We enjoyed our daily breakfasts on the patio , relaxing by the pool or under the cabana and barbecuing an occasional dinner. The villas location is great, not right in the heart of Tamarindo but close enough and the grocery stores are not far. Domenic is a treat . He has many stories and it was a pleasure to meet him and Maria. Very special people . Pantera visited daily and we looked forward to her welcoming us back each day. Wow, we really felt like we were in the perfect spot—both isolated and connected! Just a quick 15-minute drive from the lively coast, our family had the chance to unwind and enjoy the sounds of monkeys nearby. The house was super cozy and had everything we could possibly need. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway!

Casa Castaway was a fantastic place to stay in Costa Rica. The pool and patio were inviting. The vibe of the house is a so cool between the surfboard decor and local art. Best VRBO ever

We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBOs in a lot of locations, and Casa Castaway ranks right up there as one of the best! It was so thoughtfully appointed. Tons of towels, plenty of toilet paper and dish soap for the stay. The kitchen has everything you need. Bathrooms even had cotton balls and q-tips. It was like being at home. Board games and card games that they kids enjoyed. We even found some liquid band-aid that probably saved us a trip to the urgent care when a kid cut her foot on some rocks. I even noticed car seats/boosters for young kids. Loved that Dominic was close by for any questions. Panterra was always waiting for us in the evenings when we got home from an excursion. She was the kids’ favorite part of the house, second was the pool! We felt very safe here. Overall can’t say enough about this place. If you’re thinking about it, don’t hesitate, just book it!

It has it all!

Our stay at Casa Castaway was terrific! This house has everything you think you may have left at home and more. We used the kitchen and the grill and spent a lot of time in the pool. The dog who lives on the property was so friendly and we enjoyed seeing him every morning. This place is private but is also close to it all.

I don’t think we’ve stayed in a property that was better stocked. You don’t need to bring a thing. There’s markets very nearby, and the location is central to almost everything. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures and comfortably slept our family with a whole different room to spare. Pool is beautiful.

This was our first time in Costa Rica, and I can’t say enough good things about this house! Extremely clean and very well-equipped and maintained. The house had everything we needed for our week’s stay with comfortable beds and sofas, the pool was perfect and a nice place to relax. The outside dining area was great, we ate breakfast out there each morning. Dominic was very friendly and was a great host. Pantera, the dog would visit us each morning and each evening to get pets. She also liked hanging out with me while I had my coffee by the pool each morning, The drive to town was not far, about 18 min. We had dinner at a few restaurants in Tamarindo watched the sunset and got to see a fire show We did a couple of excursions while in Costa Rica we did an ATV tour where we saw howler monkeys, we also drove the ATVs to a few other beaches, we made a pitstop at one beach and had the best mojito ever. We also did evening turtle nesting. It was a great experience and we saw quite a few turtles and even one laying her eggs. Overall, we had a great vacation Thank you Dominic and Pantera for making it great.

Great Spot in Tamarindo

This house is great! Bedrooms are comfortable, the outside dining area is great for grilling the fish you caught the same day, and the kitchen is well set up for making a nice meal. The best part may have been Pantera! Wonderful pup came to visit up both morning and evenings; quite but very happy to see us and get scratches. Super fun.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

We had the option to purchase anywhere around Tamarindo and chose this area because we love the town of Tamarindo and all of the hustle and bustle but we didn't want to live in the middle of it. We preferred living in a central location with a short and easy drive to all of the amazing beaches and activities. We wanted to be close to the private schools and close to shopping in addition to being close to all of the amazing beaches.

A quiet and centralized location to many different beaches and activities. From our door step you can see monkeys, flocks of parrots and parakeets, iguanas and at night, fire flies.
