About ΝΙΚΟΣ ΕΜΜΑΝΟΥΗΛ
This is my homeplace. I lived there since I born until 1970. Our parents stayed there for all their life long. We rennovated the house on 2015 according all state rules, since this is strictly protected as one of the historical houses in Mytilene. I live in Athens and I do run my business there. My brother, who lives in Mytilene, few meters from the house, is taking care for our all guests. He and his wife Helen, are at disposal of our people staying in house all day long.
ΝΙΚΟΣ ΕΜΜΑΝΟΥΗΛ purchased this House in 1827
Why ΝΙΚΟΣ ΕΜΜΑΝΟΥΗΛ chose Lesbos
This house is a different sense of experiense in Mytilini. 200 years old, with an old furniture, rennovated for relaxing staying, covers even the most strict hospitality specs.

Mytilene is an hisrorical interesting island. There many walking distance spots to visit like the main and old market in the port, the enetic fort and archeological musieum as well as Teriant modern art Museum ten minutes out of the city.
Petrified forest in Sigri combined with petrified history museum is a very interesting daytrip. It can be joined with a visit to Eressos during the same day.
Food is excellent in Mytilene. Local small taverns in North Mytilene (Apano Skala) serve delicious season food. For summer time ask for salty sarden, is unique taste.
Another good idea for daily trip is Vatera. A long clean beach in the leeward side of the island. Hote Irini is my recommendation because is out of "croudy " center and they have nice local food as well. Alternatively on the other side of Vatera is Agios Fokas. There is the far end of the beach, a small distance of dusty road and a small fishing port with a local tavern is the full reward for your driving there, Do not forget to see the small church of Agios Fokas a few meters further.
Of course Molivos is one of the best touristic attractions of the island with the fort on the top and the port on the base. Nice walks in the stone streets, excellent stores...Do not forget to be there before sunsent. It is colurfull and unique! In case you start from the morning your drive to Molivos try the alternative. Go to Mandamados first and then take the road to Skala Skamnias. A perfect fishing small harbour, with the church Panagia Gorgona on the top. You can have a swim and a lunch there. Do not forget to be before sunset in Molivos though which is not far from there. Going back from Molivos, take the main road to Mytiline.
Places to have coffe in Mytilene. There are many. First the one near by the house Carpe Diem. They also cook there some local recepies for lunch. Ask them they are very friendly.
Marina, 10 min walk or less from the house, nice coffee and snacks on the seefront.
In the port Panellinion , the tranditional kafeneio of my grandfather. It is still there. It is nice and you will have a taste of locals who have their coffee there. It is highly recommended.
For lunch by the port also you can ask for Apaggio. This resturant is behind Dimarxeio, 100 meters from the port. Very nice local food as well and amazing prices.
What to say about this island. There are so many places to go.
In case you like a primitive day of lunch we could recommend to drive to Kountouridia. This place is on the golf of Gera. There are two wooden boats there. You can hire for less than 10 € a boat and go to other side Perama. You can have a lunch there or a coffe and to have a back ride to Kountouridia upon request.
Plomari is also nice. Ouzo producers. Amazing houses, nice port a small museum and the most important. There is a ride to go Melinda. Of couse by car, it takes half an hour. You will have a perfect swim in green water an a nice lunch on the tavern there.
In any case, do not hesitate to ask locals. They are positive to reply in your questions.
Have a nice staying..........
