Large lawned garden (shared). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a pond in the garden, 40 yards away.. In the grounds of the owner’s home, this detached, well-presented holiday cottage is situated in Uplyme, on the outskirts of the popular World Heritage Jurassic Coastal seaside resort of Lyme Regis, with its picturesque cobb and harbour. The quaint resort offers a traditional coastal town with fishing, swimming, boating, fossil hunting and scenic coastal walking along this beautiful coastline, and within easy driving there are many attractions to visit and enjoy. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

As a couple, this place was the ideal size in an area we love to visit. It was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. It has a nice view over the large garden, in which deer can sometimes be seen!The amenities of Lyme Regis are a short drive / half hour walk down the hill.

We had the most wonderful mini break at Coombehayes Lodge.

We had the most wonderful mini break at Coombehayes Lodge. We were made to feel very welcome and communication from the host was excellent. We appreciated all the thought, facilities and details that the Lodge offered making it a very easy, home-from-home stay. The Lodge hosts good quality and tasteful fittings and furnishings making it a luxurious stay. It was perfectly located for exploring Lyme Regis and the surrounding area. Set back slightly from the coastal town, it gave us the peace and relaxation we were after for our Christmas retreat. We highly recommend this venue - you won’t be disappointed.

Well I think as it was our 19th visit that speaks for itself. Fantastic as always, a perfect space to unwind and recharge your batteries. Lots of wildlife to see in the garden with all sorts of birds on the feeders and the special treat if you are lucky the deer family, lots of squirrels too. The Talbot Arms do great meals but you have to book early for a Sunday lunch. There is a gentle walk along the river down to Lyme Regis just a little harder coming back up but not as hard as the road way. We hopefully will be back soon.

Just Perfect-Peaceful with Wildlife

The lodge was exactly as described. Surrounded by a large green garden and woodland and hedgerow. It is off the beaten track but this made it perfect for a quiet getaway. Waking in the morning to see a deer grazing was an absolute treat. Also got visited by a Pheasant as well as a very healthy looking fox!! A previous review mentioned some dodgy Wifi, but after bumping into the lovely owner of the property it got resolved, so absolutely no complaints at all. Did not go there for Wifi anyway! Only a 7 minute drive from Lyme Regis itself, it is a perfect little getaway if you just want to escape for some peace and tranquillity or just as perfect if you want to go exploring. If we are back in the area we would definitely be considering booking it again.

Really excellent Christmas stay in a very peaceful and superbly well equipped lodge. Small but beautifully formed as they say. Everything we needed was supplied, plus homemade mince pies, clotted cream and sparkling wine. It was all immaculate and we had a brilliant time watching the wildlife just outside the window. Certainly hope to visit again!

We stayed 3 nights in late October, and found the cottage/lodge lived up to its reputation, and agreed with previous comments. The lodge was well presented and spotlessly clean, and the owners very welcoming. The situation is delightful, surrounded by a large garden area, and although well out into the countryside it’s little more than a 5minute drive to the local general shop and petrol station. We much enjoyed watching the wildlife, right outside the window; many birds including pheasants and a flock of goldfinches, as well as the occasional deer! We had intended to stay an extra night, but due to some unrelated commitments back at home, and deterioration in the weather, we had to depart a little earlier. Yes, we would highly recommend Coombehayes. Just one aspect didn’t quite work out as we’d hoped, but which for many visitors might NOT matter at all. The advertised WiFi was extremely unreliable, and very rarely available. Hence we didn’t really have any access to the Internet, which has become part of our regular life (eg, we download our newspaper daily rather than buy it in shops). To be fair, the owners on site admitted it was patchy, and given the general location (Dorset/Devon) we might have guessed that it could be a problem. We did notice as we left down the driveway that the WiFi did seem to kick in ok there, so if it had been summer, and we’d noticed that earlier, we might have worked out a ‘solution’. Overall, we had an excellent holiday; many thanks.

The Lodge is perfectly located for exploring the surrounding area. It’s situation in fantastic gardens is something to admire. The Lodge itself is maintained and cleaned to the highest standard. The owners gave us a very friendly welcome. Could not fault in any way. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

My second visit and the place is still amazing. Spotlessly clean, superbly equipped and close to lots of interesting places. The gardens are beautiful and there are loads of wildlife to watch and enjoy. Quiet and peaceful with helpful owners who are there if you need them. One of the best cottages I have ever stayed in.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in,so peaceful,and the wildlife you see from your cottage is fantastic.They roam the garden just a few metres from you from Deer to Foxes and various birds.The welcome cream tea was much appreciated.It was our 2nd year in a row and we will be back.

The cottage was lovely , set in a private garden which I can only say was outstanding.

The cottage was lovely , set in a private garden which I can only say was outstanding. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet. In the garden were many different types of birds, we counted 21,there was a squirrel, 4 pheasants and 2 foxes... the best was when a deer walked passed the cottage window,which we saw 3 times. The cottage was immaculate,well equipped with a welcome pack which included a cream tea. The owners were very friendly. I would highly recommend this cottage.
