Overall a great property and fantastic views only slight issues were badly worn sofa which is waiting to be replaced and possible addition of curtains needed in tge bedrooms to stop light coming in through the blinds other than that a great place to stay

Outstanding house - everything we’d hoped for.

Outstanding house - everything we’d hoped for. Absolutely perfect for family and friends with a love of being in the outdoors and long beach walks with the dog. The house is exceptionally well equipped and lovely that in December we could regulate the heating. So much storage space and the sofa in the lounge is incredibly comfortable and frames outstanding views of the Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle. Great to have so much off road parking and the secure garden and sunroom was simply ideal for letting the dog out safely on dark evenings. The welcome pack was a real treat- thank you. Already booked again for next year.

Room with a View

The location and view from the lounge window are stunning and really enhanced our overall experience. We enjoyed the walk into Seahouses for food each evening and marvelled at the beauty of the sunset on the return trip. The house is spacious, allowing enough room for guests to opt to be in the thick of it with the family or to sit somewhere quieter. Outside there is ample parking on the front of the property and the fully enclosed rear garden was ideal for our dog. We have said that we'd love to return with our granchildren too.

We all loved it.

We all loved it. Wonderful place to stay. Could sit and watch the changing view all day. Only 2 things bothered us: the extractor fans in the bathrooms didn't appear to be working and there were no cords to pull. We booked this for Christmas 2019.

We booked this for Christmas 2019. The house was great, perfect location and all the amenities you could ask for. We noticed other reviews saying the kitchen wasn't well equipped so we brought our own baking trays (so as not to have a spoiled xmas dinner!). Indeed the baking trays supplied were worse for wear but there was ample crockery - plenty of cups, plates and glasses so either other families have over used or the owner/managers have listented to reviews and sorted it. Other reviews are correct in that the blinds in the front bedroom are useless and you're basically trying to sleep in daylight especially as the lights on the drive come on automatically and cannot be turned off at night. There was a large garden which was fully enclosed. The garden could do with some attention and the conservatory was too cold to use at that time of year but we could see how it would be a great addition for families in summer. What has really let this place down for us is price and I think it's probably an issue for the area. This is Seahouses, not Florida. It's cold in winter (and most of summer) and there's not a lot to do once you've done the shops and the boat ride. The house, although lovely and well located, was not out of this world. Even though it was christmas there was no effort made to make the house nice or special like add a few decorations to warrant the higher price we paid for the Christmas period. The welcome hamper consisted of a few teabags and some buiscuits. We paid over £1000 for a week - this was a huge treat and as it was Christmas we wanted something by the beach and this was one of the few properties left. On looking to see what the price would be at other times of the year in 2020 it's equally high. We thought about booking for Christmas next year but the price is already several hundreds more than we paid last year, way above inflation and not really justifiable. The sad thing is while we were there the town was totally deserted. We had visited a different property in April when it was much busier. When I asked the locals they all said the same thing; much lower visitor numbers than normal and they blamed this at least in part on the cost that certain companies are charging for properties especially in school holidays. We went to the curry house for a takeaway and the restaurant was absolutely empty on a Friday night! By comparison, I'm just about to book a villa in France for the middle of August, all mod cons with wifi, air con etc (i.e. comparable standard) and it's still £400 a week cheaper than the price quoted for this place. Don't get me wrong, you'll have a fab time if you book here and I guess a big family or a group sharing would make it worthwhile. But the increase in price in our view simply isn't justifiable. Our party of 4 (+ 1 dog) stayed in Seaview Cottage for a long weekend in December. The location sold it for me, right across from the beach, who needs tv! My husband & I had the downstairs area and it almost felt like we had our own flat, such a spacious house. If I was being ‘picky’ I’d suggest putting a larger mirror in the bedroom and perhaps some storage space in the downstairs bathroom (there was nowhere to put toiletries) but that is literally all. It’s a beautiful house in a prime location only a 5 minute walk from Seahouses. I would definitely recommend. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Excellent location as only minutes to the beautiful beach. Wonderful sea view, but note it is not quiet as while we were there was a near constant string of people walking past on there way to and from the beach. We would probably stay again however the property is slightly let down by the quality of finishing touches in some parts of the house. For example: Cheap equipment in the kitchen (pots and pans) Lots of chipped crockery Only two of the 8 dining chairs had cushions and those were heavy stained Only a handful of hangers in the whole house and those that were there looked to be a mish mash of ones left by previous guests Poor welcome pack of a few tea bags and some individually wrapped biscuits, we have seen much better attempts at other properties. In summary good house, but needs to do better to be excellent and fully justify the high price tag. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We really enjoyed our holiday.

We really enjoyed our holiday. However - There is a severe lack of mirrors throughout. The pans need to be upgraded as they are next to unusable - nearly everything just burnt. Excellent location and overall a really good property. Marked down due to a few issues - cooker very temperamental - some of the settings on the over didn't work. Also some crockery badly chipped and unable to use (there was still enough for 6 people). Would benefit from an outside tap to enable you to rinse shoes/feet after being on the beach. We would rebook this house in an instant. We loved our time here. It's actually better than the photos show. Plenty of space, very comfortable and the view is amazing. It takes two minutes to get to the beach and is a short gentle stroll in to Seahouses centre. Very minor points....Having more crockery would mean the dishwasher could be more useful and having mirrors in the upstairs bathroom and the bedrooms would be desirable. If you're holidaying with a toddler I'd advise you to take a safety gate as the living area and kitchen are upstairs. We needed a couple of blocks in order to fit ours as the staircase is wide But, overall.... Absolutely brilliant. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

No oven gloves, need more coat hangers, no hairdryer, household waste calendar a year out of date. Bottom warming oven filthy . No spare toilet rolls, no soap to get us going , bedside lightbulb gone. Venetian blinds dirty Front out side lights need to go off earlier as the light gets through the Venetian blind Pile of building rubbish in front garden. Seaview House is a stunning property, possibly one of the best we've ever stayed in. Exceptionally clean and in an excellent location with views to die for. If I was to be really critical, the only irritating thing was only one door key. The cottage has three bedrooms and that means potentially three couples staying who may wish to go their separate ways during the day. We stayed with our son and his girlfriend and it really was a faff to keep using the key safe each time we went out. Other than that, excellent. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Five of us shared this house and found there to be plenty of room for us all to enjoy private space when needed . The view was superb, the walk into Seahouses just enough for my 75 year old mother. Local amenities were very good, with a superb Italian restaurant in town and loads of fish and chip opportunities!! Beds were comfortable, showers great, kitchen facilities superb. Parking for two cars was comfortable, but four would fit in a q in the drive. Be sure to take the short walk down to the beach....it is beautiful. Only one point stopped a full 100% score. The blinds are not good at keeping the light out. You may wake early on sunny mornings...although that may not bother you. :) Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
