This was a nice cottage and worked fine for our family. There are a few wear and tear type updates that need to be made. Our kids loved the waterfront and having their own play area on the lower level.
The lake was crystal clear and the kids and dogs were able to swim in it. Had a grate time fishing, swimming, boating and shopping in down town Traverse city. Highly recommend... We will be back next year...
Offer travel size shampoo, conditioner and soaps.
Didn’t know we had to replace paper products as per your welcome binder.
Enjoyed paddle boat and use of lake and beach.
Enjoyed the beautiful view and sunsets.
Thank you and would recommend to others.
Home has plenty of rooms and setup great for socializing as family. Nice clean beds, showers. Did need to rewash many dishes and vacuum when we arrived.
Water a bit tricky to use and not great pressure. Area nice and quiet. Kids had fun at lake and traverse city soo close.
Summer getaway, good location.
We rented this property for a summer vacation. We had a great time and overall enjoyed our stay.
The cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage on a shady, woodsy lot on Rennie Lake. It is roomy and can comfortably sleep about 12. It is well-stocked with towels, outdoor necessities like camp chairs and life jackets, and has AC and a washer and dryer. The upstairs is a little bit dated, but good for a family. The basement is recently updated and has a walk-out family room with bunk beds, futons, and a pull-out sofa (we called it the girl’s dormitory during our stay).
The lot is right on the lake, and we spent a lot of time on the water. We swam, boated, and fished. Bring your fishing license if you like small-mouthed bass. They were delicious! The swimming area is somewhat “mucky” and will steal you water shoes!
The deck and grill were favorites, and we spent a lot of time sitting on the deck snacking, chatting, and playing games.
The location was also great. We drove about 25 minutes into Elk Rapids for dinner one evening, and spent another day shopping in downtown Traverse City, which was a 20 minute drive.
The only things that would have made our stay better would have been a dehumidifier (Michigan humid summer!), and a working DVD player (missing cords). These are very minor suggestions as we really had a pleasant stay.
We highly recommend!
Our family had a great time in this property. The location is perfect. It's about 20 minutes to downtown Traverse City and and 50 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Pictures are very accurate. The neighbors dog, Molly, came to visit multiple times during our stay. The kids absolutely loved her...she is very sweet.
