About Bill and Susan O'Bryant
The owners of Creek Haus on Baron's Creek are best described as a couple who love to travel, enjoy the outdoors, sports and cooking, but above all, just being together. Travels have included sailing for weeks along Italy's Amalfi coast and nearby islands, island hopping in the Caribbean and Cayman Islands. Winters are spent on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. As retired restaurant owners, they spend much of their time experimenting with new recipes, hiking, biking, traveling and playing their favorite sport, tennis.

Why Bill and Susan O'Bryant chose Fredericksburg
Having previously owned property in Fredericksburg, we quickly discovered the benefits of having a location within easy walking distance of Main Street and the Historic District. Having property on Baron's Creek, watching deer play in the backyard, and bird watching, lends to the enjoyment and feel of country living, while being only a couple of blocks from all the activity! The beautiful tree lined, all weather, flowing creek, gives a feeling of privacy that is rare to find, living in town. Our open floor plan design with multiple windows, helps to bring the "outside in" and to create a natural atmosphere for all to enjoy! Having the privacy of a courtyard pool, completely surrounded by vine covered walls, is also very special!
What makes this House unique
Creek Haus' most unique benefit, is it's special location! Designed and furnished for living comfortability, within an upscale atmosphere, includes a leather sofa and wooden floors, granite, bar-style kitchen counter, where guests may sit with a glass of wine and watch their personal chef prepare a gourmet meal. The Hill Country/Southwest furnishings compliment the area in which we live. . Our home is constructed of Austin stone and even though the architecture is modern, it is a perfect fit for the Hill country. Creek Haus is such a fun house, one may find it hard to leave! Guests will love the privacy the courtyard pool. Spending afternoons swimming, sipping refreshments, lounging poolside or wading in the creek below, are all a part of the Creek Haus experience. Sitting on the terrace, beneath an umbrella or the shade of an oak tree is just one of the many amenities to enjoy! Creek Haus also offers an exclusive, complimentary VIP Concierge service, which includes, in home massage, advance grocery shopping, reservations at local restaurants, limo/van services, wine tours, and tickets for special events, as well as arrangements for private occasions and more. House was closer to town than we thought. Great house!! Great location. The heated pool was great for this time of year. We had a fantastic time. I would definitely stay at this house again. Very clean and well supplied.
Thank you for your great review! As you mentioned, our home is near downtown, but yet has a country feel with the creek and deer in our backyard. We love the heated pool as well and I believe Creek Haus has the only heated pool available to guests, in Fredericksburg!
Best Regards, Bill
Hill Country Delight
Beautiful property on Barron’s Creek where you can walk down to creek and see all kinds of wild life and here the creek running. House is speculation and beds very comfy. Great set up and space in the kitchen if you want to cook and awesome pool area off side of house. Great property where you feel like you are out in Hill Country but only 2 blocks from Main Street in Fredericksburg!
Beautiful home the pictures didn't do it justice. The house is walking distance to Main Street and easily accessible to all the shops.
Creek Haus is the Bomb!
This home was better than we anticipated. It was clean and comfortable. All the amenities needed were available from kitchen supplies to laundry detergent and iron. Towels by the pool were unexpected but greatly appreciated. We loved this home!
Great house, great location. Well stocked kitchen.
We celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary with couple of friends and family. First time at Fredericskburg but surely not our last. We will be contacting Bill and Susan to stay in this lovely home again. Heated pool was a great amenity.
Thank you Maydee,
We're glad you and your guests enjoyed Creek Haus, and your time in Fredericksburg! Looking forward to having you as return guests!
Best Wishes, Bill
Cute Little Stay!
What a wonderful little house in a quaint little neighborhood. Not only was the house beautiful, clean, and convenient, the pool and the added amenities made the stay seem extra special. We were within walking distance of our wedding venue as well as the downtown area. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this home again.
Thank you very much. It was our pleasure to be your host, and we're thrilled you enjoyed our property! We're finding that more and more of our guests reserve Creek Haus to celebrate that special occasion, whatever it may be!
Fredericksburg has become a Hill Country mecca. Located one hour from San Antonio and Austin, the landscape changes dramatically from lower elevations of the Coastal Plains. Rising almost 2000 feet and topping out on the Edwards Plateau, Fredericksburg visitors are treated to a quaint, old world German village filled with restaurants, beer gardens and architecture from it's founding days of the 1800's, which blends very nicely with the boutiques, NY style bistros, microbreweries, wineries and tapas bars, all found in the Historic Downtown District! Ladies on a girls weekend, and couples, will love browsing through some of the finest and most eclectic shops to be found anywhere! Of course, there are always the intermittent stops for wine tastings, and later, fabulous dining at any of the great restaurants Fredericksburg has to offer!!
Visitors, who are geocache enthusiasts, can test their GPS skills in hopes of locating one or more of the 20 caches hiding in plain sight around town!
Those who are artistically inclined may want to sign up for classes at the "Yellow Door" art studio which offers sessions for all ability levels from beginner to advanced! Also offered are "Art and Vino" classes, where students may bring their wine, and sip while they paint. At the end of the evening artists may take their newly created masterpieces home with them! Materials are furnished for all classes.
Venturing a short distance out of town, driving east on Hwy 290, one finds themselves in the heart of the wine country with dozens of wineries and vineyards just waiting for patrons to sample acclaimed, award winning wines! Creek Haus' VIP Concierge service can arrange for limo or van transportation.
Sightseeing is at its best when traveling north a few miles, where adventurers will gaze in awe and amazement as Enchanted Rock comes into view. Located within a State Park, hiking, picnicking, camping and rock climbing are all a part of the experience, in one of the most visited parks in Texas. Stargazers will enjoy the clear skies, in that the park has been recently awarded an official designation as a "National Dark Sky" location, assuring virtually no light pollution in the surrounding area!
And ... don't forget, LBJ Ranch State Park located near Johnson City. Visit the Texas White House where President Johnson held many of his cabinet meetings during his time in office. Take a tour, in your car, of the Ranch at your own pace, accompanied by a recording which identifies and describes points of interest along the way. Passengers will be stopping at the President's birthplace, private airstrip, river views, the Johnson family cemetery and much more! The tour's final stop is an inside tour of Lyndon and Lady Bird's ranch house, better known as the Texas White House.
Springtime visitors will be treated to an array of wildflowers along Willow City Loop north of town. Here, the dramatic, rugged landscape is blanketed with Indian paint brush, coreopsis, coneflowers, cosmos, bluebonnets and sunflowers revealing brilliant colors of every hue imaginable.
Travel east on Hwy. 290 and exit the Old San Antonio Road for an afternoon of music, socializing and just kicking back in the burg of Luckenbach, TX. Remember "Everybody is Somebody" in Luckenbach. When you're ready for an award winning burger, travel a few miles up the road to Alamo Springs Cafe, where everyone will enjoy an old-time country feeling, while dining in the atmosphere of a country store right out of the 1800's.
A few steps away, have a seat in an amphitheater, and listen to a Park Ranger describe the exodus of millions of Mexican free tail bats, that rise up from their roost in a deserted tunnel, which was carved to make way for a railroad line that once connected San Antonio with the hill country for trade purposes. It is now called Old Tunnel State Park and is the smallest state park in the U.S. Best viewing is between May and September.
Aside from dining, art galleries, and shopping etc., Downtown offers a variety of museums, including the Pioneer Museum located on 3 acres, which depicts life in the old west, but also delves into the history of Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country. A few blocks away, one will find the nationally acclaimed George H. W. Bush Gallery, the Admiral Nimitz and the National Museum of the Pacific War, honoring our WWII military, recounting important battles that helped to win the war.
And don't forget sporting activities at the Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park which includes, golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, picnicking and nature walks along special marked trails.
