This place is adorable inside.

We traveled to Spokane to Celebrate my daughter turning 16. We needed a place to stay so we can cook our own meals and have comfy beds to sleep. This place met that need. No centeal air but they had a window cooler and several fans that kept the place very comfortable. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a few snacks. They were not very many seasonings or utensils but we made do with what was there. The trash cans didn't have bags in them but after a little snooping in closets and behind doors we found the bags. The bath drain was very slow to drain but with a screw driver and a little time I was able to fix that. :) we loved the wood floors and the spacious rooms and the huge master bed. The guest bed was very, very noisy and the trundle looks like someone that was over the weight capacity may have slept on it and bent the frame. There were plenty of pillows and blankets. The laundry room was awesome to have. My 16 year old said it was creepy but I kinda liked it. The dryers (2 of them) were occupied with damp linens but after turning them on and then folding the sheets, I was set to go. Definitely a life saver since after packing everything else I forgot socks for myself. :/ The convenient covered parking was great.

The only complaint I would have is the upstairs tenants were very, very loud in the middle of the night. I am a very sound sleeper and it even woke me up. That isn't anything with the owners, except maybe a little respect from renters if they choose an upstairs unit. And, maybe get a pizza cutter. Having the self bake pizza place right there was a great option for us and had to use a knife to cut it. Again, not a deal breaker but just an idea.

Sweet and Humble

  • 5 of 5

Entry via a "secret" alley took me to a very quiet home with hard-wood floors and spacious rooms. This sweet old home was so comfortable, I was perfectly content to stay within it's confines. However, across the street were a few dining places, the neighborhood was a tree-lined street with couples and friends taking evening strolls, and a complimentary bottle of wine was on the dining room table. Just a few minutes' drive led me to a variety of supermarkets, Walgreens, or anywhere else I wanted to be. Far enough from the highway to truly enjoy silence, yet perhaps a 10 minute drive to access the nearest on-ramp. The couch was very welcoming after a day of improper desk posture.

There are so many positive things about this home-away that I can't list them all, so I'll just leave it as a Thank You to Gary (with whom I spoke) and Sarah for accepting my request to use their property as a respite from all my goings-on.
