Wonderful get-away! A great little cabin among the trees, so peaceful and relaxing but still very close to everything to see and do in Aggieland. We had a great stay! Thank you!!
The property is very charming and the Crow's Nest Cabin it self was very cozy. The location for anyone seeking a quiet place that feels like you are in the middle of the woods, while still being conveniently close to both College Station and Bryan.
I will certainly return in the future.
Also Doug was very accommodating with our needs.

Great location!
Loved our stay here! It felt like we were in a tree house. It is nice, quite and romantic. The location is perfect for Aggie events. It is quick to get to campus and there is much less traffic on this side of campus. We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet, clean, super friendly!
Doug Kessler and his wife are super friendly! They had everything ready for us, including a welcome sign and cookies and drinks in the fridge. The loft above the barn was so nicely built and decorated. Very innovative use of space! We saw Doug when we arrived, and the day before we left. It was nice to have a friendly face nearby in case we needed anything (which we didn’t), but also very respectful of our privacy. Bryan had nice small-town shopping, and we also enjoyed Brenham and Bastrop on the way home. This vacay worked out great as a quiet getaway from the norms of life. Thanks, Doug!

Great place
I thoroughly enjoyed the Crow's Nest with it's peaceful setting in the tree tops. I woke to birds singing in the morning and was able to sit outside on the deck in the afternoon and soak up the natural surroundings. And just a short drive to College Station.

The Crow's Nest Cabin on Piper Lane has been lucky to host consistently friendly and upbeat guests. It is rewarding when our guests really take time to relax, sit on the deck with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, listen to the birds and relax.
We appreciate the feedback and kind words.

Charming and Perfect for our Getaway!
Crow’s Nest was perfect for our extended football weekend in a College Station (Roll Tide!). The pictures on the website don’t do justice to the charm and unique setting of this treetop cabin. Lots of character in the decor, both inside and outside. Doug’s hospitality was second to none and all the amenities that are needed are readily available (snacks included). So convenient to the Texas A&M campus but also located in a very quiet setting (great for sleeping in!!) We will definitely visit here again. Thanks, Doug for making our stay so wonderful!!

Quirky Treehouse
We loved this little apartment! It is atop a small barn just far enough away from town to be very quiet and restful. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and I slept like a rock. There is a large, full-sized kitchen, a big dining table, and a picnic table on the deck outside. I'd like to stay for longer someday and take advantage of all this, as the restaurants in College Station are often very crowded. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Quiet, but close to the action
Crow's nest is a wonderful cozy cabin which is about 75' from the main house. It feels fairly private with trees and undergrowth. The cabin and spacious patio are upstairs with nice scenery. Nice touches such as a mini Christmas tree on the table and personalized welcome sign! Doug the owner was very accessible and helpful. My husband and I plan on staying here again and highly recommend to a single or couple.
The cabin was super clean & well-maintained. We went to Santa's Wonderland which is a must-see for Christmas season. Pretty close to A&M and restaurants. Highly recommend Sodolaks and Blue Baker. Mickey's Sliders was pretty good. Bush Library & Museum is very interesting.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crow's Nest cabin. The cabin was beautiful and extremely clean. Mr. Kessler and his wife were very kind upon our arrival and we truly enjoyed our conversation with them. The Crow's Nest was perfect for two, the bed was very comfortable, the cabin cozy and the Kesslers provided everything we needed for our stay. Will definitely return.

Great place to stay near Texas A&M.
This second story cabin with a large adjoining deck created a sense of living among the treetops. It was clean, homey and comfortable.
We loved the private, tranquil setting which offered a quiet retreat from the nearby city and college campus.

Lovely little getaway
My husband and I had a chance to get away for a weekend. We chose this little hideaway and it was perfect. They had everything we would need, including a tasty bottle of wine in the fridge :) The location is great, no more than 15 minute drive from all of the locations we had planned to go to, a concert in the nearby amphitheater, a local brewery with live music and some really great restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. The space was clean, inviting, wonderfully decorated. The owner was friendly and accommodating.

About the host
Hosted by Loranda Stuart
The owners, husband and wife have five children and three grandkids and are closely affiliated with Texas A&M and proud to say a couple of our children graduated from there. We've lived on Piper Lane for nearly twenty years.
Why they chose this property
This property is quite unique from almost anywhere else. Why? It is situated on the non-congested side of the Texas A&M campus. Most traffic exiting the university travels south and east. The Crow's Nest Cabin is west, just past Easterwood Airport. But the best part is within 10 minutes of leaving the heart of the campus you can be sitting on the deck of the Crow's Nest surrounded by trees and you would never know you're so close to town. Peaceful and secluded.
What makes this property unique
In addition to huge projects such as the San-Francisco-Bay Area bridge and Lincoln Tunnel, as part of the "New Deal" offered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt many smaller local relief efforts were initiated including funding to build local community buildings. > The Crow's Nest Cabin is built nearly entirely from lumber reclaimed from the old Harvey Community Center built in 1934. It was located on Highway 30, just east of College Station. The old oak tongue and groove floorboards of that beloved building are now the walls and ceiling of the Crow's Nest Cabin. Each sanded, and refinished by hand. And yes, screwed into place by my wife, my son and me. Like I said, there is no other place like this.
