We are very sorry that our home did not meet your exacting specifications. Our house manager, who lives close by, is always on hand for any issues and problems. We, the owners, met you just after you arrived. I asked that should there be any issues, please do contact either the manager or us at any time during your three week stay. Apart from some calls on the first day, we heard nothing from you. Had we heard from you, we would have done all we could to put right your issues. Prior to your arrival the house was fully cleaned by a professional team and you had two further six hour cleaning sessions paid for by you during your time there. There was no feedback from you before or after these sessions. All the 100% cotton bedlinen and towels were as usual professionally laundered prior to your arrival. They are regularly replaced. We have an annual maintenance programme for our home and this year we refurbished one of the bathrooms, replaced the coffee machine, TV and DVD player and repainted many walls and windows. Our home is a listed modern house with simple furnishings (much from B&B Italia, the Conran Shop, Cane-Line or bespoke). The pictures, paintings and sculptures are all original. We fully accept it is not everyone’s taste and that it may not be suitable for some given the staircase design and the steps down to the pool but this is made clear in the Homeaway text and photos. Over the ten years we have rented out our home, we have never received a review like yours. Again, it seems our house did not live up to your expectations and we are very sorry for that, had you been in touch with us at any point during your holiday, we would have worked tirelessly to put it right.
