Birch Cottage är en härlig fristående semesterboende som sitter på en sluttning med utsikt över Loch Long och Firth of Clyde, nära Dunoon, Argyll. Det är en av fyra ligger inom en liten semesterutveckling kallad Stronchullin.

En mysig stuga, med mycket natteljus och underbar utsikt, sover sex personer i tre sovrum. På bottenvåningen finns ett rymligt öppet vardagsrum och matplats med ekgolv och vedeldad spis. Från loungen finns en altandörr som leder ut till ett stort däck och en trädgård med magnifik utsikt. Köket har allt du kan behöva. Det finns också ett duschrum och ett sovrum med dubbelsäng nere. På övervåningen finns ett enkelrum och ett sovrum med en dubbel och en enkelsäng.

Inkluderat i priset är alla bränslekostnader, sängkläder och handdukar. För logg brännkammare - vi levererar din första korg med loggar gratis, ytterligare korgar är £ 5 vardera.

Utanför sittplatser finns på ett nytt däckområde där du kan koppla av och njuta av Argyll-landskapet och njuta av utomhusrätter och middagar eller njuta av en grill i trädgården. Stugorna har en idyllisk, avskild miljö men har alla bekvämligheter i Dunoon tillgängliga bara några kilometer bort.

Short stay: four friends

Lovely location for walks (Puck's Glen; Benmore Gardens), fantastic views from property. Well appointed, great beds, modern kitchen and bathroom, wood-burner in living-room. Would definitely come again and recommend to other friends.

Birch Cottage: A Perfect Retreat, Breath-taking Views & Fantastic Hosts

During our recent stay at Birch Cottage in Stronchullin Holiday Cottages, we had a truly remarkable experience. The location of the cottage in Blairmore near Dunoon was perfect for our 6-night getaway with my wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and better still we could bring the dog! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the exceptional presentation and cleanliness of the cottage. It had a modern and stylish design with all the modern conveniences we could ask for. The fully fitted kitchen made cooking a breeze, however with the local seafood restaurants on offer, we didn't use the kitchen much (Anselmos chippy in Dunoon gets a 5-star rating, as does The George Hotel in Inveraray!). We loved spending evenings relaxed in front of the lovely wood-burning stove watching TV, and the added benefit of decent Wi-Fi helped stream the odd movie too. The spacious deck and outdoor seating area provided us with a picturesque setting to enjoy the breath-taking views over Loch Long and towards Greenock with a glass of wine or a cheeky beer or two. The cottage not only met but exceeded our expectations in terms of cleanliness and amenities. The luxurious waterfall shower was a delightful touch, and we couldn't resist the charm of the wood-burning fireplace, which added a cosy ambiance to our evenings when needed. The wooden floor throughout the main living area was a nice touch too, and really helped the property exceed our expectations. We took advantage of the cottage's West Coast location to explore the nearby attractions. Benmore Botanic Gardens and Pucks Glen were both stunning, and we even had the opportunity to hop on the Waverley Paddle Steamer for a memorable excursion to the Isle Of Bute. Poor weather on a number of days meant we had to seek out wet-weather options and, the accessibility to Glasgow for some shopping proved a big bonus for this (although the drive was a fair 2hrs). On other days we visited Inveraray, Cruachan Dam, and Loch Lomond for a 90-minute narrated cruise. The overall atmosphere of the cottage was quaint, quiet, and rural, providing a peaceful retreat, yet it was well connected to nearby attractions and amenities. The fantastic hosts, particularly David, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable and enjoyable. One thing to note is that most local activities are outdoor-based, so it's advisable to be prepared for clouds of midges, the various weather conditions you'll likely face (it's West Coast Scotland!) and also consider travel times for longer excursions. In summary, we wholeheartedly recommend Birch Cottage to others seeking a comfortable and well-appointed holiday cottage. With its excellent views, luxurious amenities, and the warm hospitality of the hosts, our experience was nothing short of fantastic.

Excellent property - super location!

Fabulous week away in a fantastic part of the country. Very quiet and peaceful and yet plenty to do for our family nearby. Otters, seals, porpoise and whales all spotted in the loch whilst paddleboarding and dog walking and amazing views from the decking all day round. Bliss

Can't beat this location for a peaceful relaxing holiday with stunning views over Loch Long. The cottage was very well appointed super kitchen & very well equipped. We loved sitting out on the decking & just soaking it all up. There was only 2 of us so bear in mind if you are a party of 6 you may have to organise a bathroom rota!

Exactly as it was described on the website. Lovely hosts and thank you for the welcome basket! Beautiful weather for half our stay and the outside decking and furniture well used. Very comfortable beds

Lovely cottage. Great Locaton.

Can’t recommend highly enough. I suspect the kitchen was newly refurbished - ir was beautiful. really well appointed and everything you could need. Lovely log burner. Good WiFi and TV. Comfy beds. Cracking view. Communication before the visit was clear and helpful. There were 4 of us - cottage was perfect. Might be a bit tight with 6 and one shower.

Overall okay

The location was fantastic the cottage was okay but the only thing I could find i wasn’t happy with was every plate or oven tray or piece of cutlery it had to be washed first because it just wasn’t okay but as for everything else we had a fabulous family holiday.

Safety issues needing to be reviewed

A lot of health and safety issues need to be addressed the main being we reported the patio door would not open it was not fixed leaving us with no exit if there was a fire in the kitchen or hall.We were asked to strip the bedding on leaving which would not have been a problem except the mattress in 3 of them were badly stained leaving us horrified at what we had been sleeping on I have a photo of 2 mattresses in question also we found an empty juice bottle under the bed not belonging to us

Wonderful holiday

Birch cottage is just as described with comfortable accommodation and fabulous views over Loch Long. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful week at Stronchullin. We only used the ground floor as there was just two of us.
