Great setting
Fay and Colin ensured a wonderful holiday for us and our dog. Very pleasant accommodation in botanical garden setting. Our dog Kalo had a great time and we were able to leave him in the secure kennel provided enabling us to visit Cradle National Park for the day.

Very clean, well-equipped and comfortable stay at Altona, with enjoyable gardens. Loved being able to BBQ and eat under cover even in the pouring rain! Close to Devonport for eating out, and exploring local sights like Mt Roland and Tasmazia. Teens appreciated the wifi...

Altona Gardens are amazing, so beautiful and well kept. You can feel the owner's love for their property in every hidden nook and flower patch. Very relaxing to be surrounded by greenery.
The unit is spacious and tidy with everything you need for a comfortable getaway.
Set in a valley spectacular 3 acre garden with ponds, beautiful mature trees. A real delight to explore. The unit is well equipped, and the mattress toppers make for a comfortable sleep. Undercover parking a bonus.

Soothing welcome to Tasmania with a superb garden
I chose this retreat because I'm a professional gardener and I know how gardens help settle you like a big hug.
I loved this special place created from scratch by the owners who I found so easy to approach and generous with eggs, rasberries and a welcome for my little pet.
I highly recommend Altona Garden Retreat to anyone just off the ferry or about to board, especially.

Thanks Leeanne, we are humbled to receive such a review from a professional
Thank you so much for our lovely short stay. The gardens were even more beautiful than the photos and the cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. It was a perfect base for our exploration though I would have been equally happy just staying at Altona
The property was neat and comfortable and suited our requirement of two double rooms. It is in a quiet country setting but only a short drive to many north coast tourist attractions. The hosts were very welcoming and invited us enjoy and explore the stunning gardens, where there are a number of tables and seats to enjoy the view across the dams, watch the birds and listen to the frogs. They were generous with their time if you were interested in hearing about the development of the expansive gardens but also happy to leave you to enjoy your stay uninterrupted.
We could easily have stayed longer.
This place is a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day sightseeing. Gardens are amazing and so peaceful. Accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Would like to have stayed longer. Highly recommend.

Hi Betty, it was a pleasure having you stay, especially when you left the unit as neat and tidy as you did. Would never have known you were there if you had not left the bed turned back. Many thanks Colin & Fay.
