Great place

  • 4 of 5

We've rented a lot of different cabins on the island. This is one is easily one of the most well-maintained and comfortable ones (for small families) that we've stayed in, and the owners are gracious and attentive hosts. We would recommend it to anyone.

Short, but really sweet stay

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I spent a long weekend at Jim's waterfront house recently and enjoyed every moment of the house, the lake, the hiking at the parks, the dinners in LaPointe, and the absolute relaxed pace of the island. Living on Lake Superior means learning about the daily changes of the beachfront, the rhythm of the waves, the clarity of the horizon & the birds in action. We now know that what might be a large sandy beach one day, will be wiped away in another day, yet reappear on another day. It's all very fascinating. The house itself is depicted very well in the photos; it's very comfortable & functional. We really enjoyed the table on the porch for doing some crafts & would also be perfect as a puzzle table. We had planned to bring bikes, but had a change of heart due to some unsettled weather patterns & had plenty to do without riding. It is a perfect area for bike riding though with it's quiet & flat roads. Thanks Jim & Renee, we'd come back in a heartbeat & will be sure to let our friends know about your gem.

Sweet little cabin

  • 5 of 5

Sweet little cabin close enough to the water to hear it lapping on the shore. Well stocked and very clean. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable week long stay. Beautiful views. Easy check in and out. Thanks Jim and Renee!

Peaceful, beautiful, unplugged & re-energized!

  • 5 of 5

This place was just what we needed!!

It was beautiful and peaceful.

The sound of the water lapping the shore was music to our ears. Loved the porch! So enjoyed the beach with a glass of wine. The owners are so nice and accommodating. We forgot the butter and they were so happy to provide a stick so a trip to town wasn’t needed.

I’m pretty particular about cleanliness and this place was very clean. We had a 9 month old baby with and he crawled the floors with no worries. Also, a pack n play fits perfectly in the hall cubby.

We would recommend this as the perfect place to unplug from this busy, stressful world and center yourself again!!

Absolutely gorgeous views with your own slice of shore heaven!

  • 5 of 5

A great place! They supply all of the necessities to cook at “home” or grill out. Took my yoga mat out to the dock on a gorgeous morning and almost fell asleep it’s so peaceful. My boyfriend kayaked down the shore to a lagoon to fish. Bring a comfy blanket from home to enjoy the futon on the back porch with your morning coffee. Remember to crack open the windows at night to listen to the waves hitting the beach too. Loved this Home Away!

Great place! See review below!

  • 5 of 5

Cosy knotty pine cabin with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. Beautiful view of the lake and for us October bright fall foilage.

We could walk out to the end of the dock at times but because of the high waves both part of the dock & the Sandy Beach disappeared.. it was difficult to get down to the dock via a side path.

Bring your own boats if you have them.

I called our host Roger about lack of wood for the fireplace & he was very attentive to our needs.

Our hosts lived across the street and took me on a tour of their garden and gave us some delicious veggies to cook with.

I would highly recommend the cabin to anyone going to Madeline Island!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. We've had a couple of bad storms this fall that damaged our dock. It is scheduled for repair this coming spring. There is a nice stairway to the beach see pics on VRBO site. T
