Reunion in Wimberly

Comfortable and inviting. Nice deck and spacious back yard. We had other family members staying in houses close by. The River access was great and the pool was nice. We also enjoyed the shops in town.

Wedding of the Year

We were in town for a nephew's wedding on June 1. I couldn't have picked a closer house to stay at, as the Old Glory Ranch venue was just down River Road. It was perfect. I was also a good location and not far from Market days, which we also attended. The property manager was easy to work with. We had plenty of room for everyone staying. They had everything there that we needed: kitchen supplies, bed & bath linens, etc. Will stay again, if possible, next time we visit Wimberley.

Disappointed

This could be a beautiful home with some TLC and DEEP cleaning. Had high hopes for improvements from previous reviews. There are some repairs needed and way too much personal items left in the home. The various rm closets had shoes, clothes and junk. All drawers in most rooms had many random items in them (heating pads, table cloths, and the list could go on). There was no organization to the kitchen cabinets and lots of well used "stuff". We were disappointed that the bathroom towels were well worn (good car wash/dusting towels now) and folded but thrown randomly on the bathroom shelf. Did find some nicer towels tucked away in one of the dresser drawers and under the sink in the master bath. The rugs in all bathrooms need to be replaced or a good washing. The mattress in the master needs replacing. We found ourselves rolling to the center of the bed because it was so worn out. A big disappointment was the TV service. There are TV's in some of the bedrooms and in the living room but the info on the rental does not mention that there is no reception over a normal antenna or cable. There is only streaming such as Netflix or AppleTV or DVD's. This is only mentioned in the book left for the guests which has many pages handwritten (not neatly) in pencil. I could go on but will refrain. I would be happy to discuss further if contacted. Not great for $1200+. Felt it was someone's home and they leave when it's rented. We will not recommend this property unless improvements made.

Fun with the Grandkids

Plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 kids. There is so much to do in Wimberley , While on the Blanco River we saw Wild turkeys and deer crossing the river. A great getaway from big city life.

Girls Trip!

The property was nice - it did have a good layout for sleeping for 7 women. There were all the kitchen necessities for sure and the porch was nice and comfy. The biggest issue was that it was not as clean as it should have been. The dishes needed to be washed before using any of them. (we left a note for the staff and the woman that cleaned the place called apologized and said she had not realized the dishwasher was not working when she put away the dishes BEFORE we arrived.) The house needed a good dusting. We found plastic drink lids on the floor and on a nightstand. Sounds silly, but it showed the cleaning staff didn't do a very thorough job on easy things ... so what about the deeper cleaning issues? There were dead bugs in the light fixture in the kitchen and in any of the cute decorative items. There was quite a bit of the owners personal belongings in the house. One closet had clothes and supplies in it, but the other 4 bedroom closets had things piled in them that it seemed they didn't know what to do with. (Floaties with the air half in them, old mattress topper, comforter/pillows (some of which were stained and could never be used - so why not pitch them?) In all it was a nice house - and would have been perfect if it had been picked up a bit better.

Christmas family get together

We needed a place with plenty of beds and bathrooms -and close to rest of my big family for our Christmas celebration. All my young grandkids loved the play room upstairs and the big covered deck in the backyard too. This was a wonderful house for us with extra space for everyone to spread out.

Dog Barks ALLLLLLL NIGHT LONG! No sleep here

Unfortunately we were in town for a funeral. There was miscommunication upon check in and we had to clean the kitchen. But the WORST part is the Neighbors Big Dog Barked literally the entire night! We had to buy ear plugs and the owner lives next door so its not like they did not know what was happening. Super disappointing to spend a lot of money for a 2 night stay and get zero sleep on such a hard emotional weekend.

Out dated house

We had to call the home owner due to the AC leaking in the kitchen. We could not have the ac lower then 75 or it would start to leak., the upstairs bathrooms were hot! The floors were dirty and they left all there personnel toiletry & hygiene product in the restroom.

Like Staying at a Friend's House

This property is wonderful! Host is wonderful! My in-laws were the first to arrive to the property, and it was not quite check in time (4pm). But the neighbors were so friendly and welcoming, and gave them directions to the neighborhood river access. The property host was just finishing laundry, and let them change clothes at the property. Such friendly hospitality! Then the host arrived later to put the laundered sheets on the bed - she was so kind. Having rented a variety of properties off VRBO, I'm never sure what kitchen supplies there will be. So we brought lots of pans, a blender, measuring cups, etc, but SURPRISE! This place is fully stocked, just like your own home would be. Plenty of sleeping space for everyone as well, pillows were great, lots of towels, and the big back yard / patio was lovely in the evenings. Also (thank you for having...) parking spaces for our 4 cars. The property is in a wooded, quiet neighborhood with great Blanco river access. Lots of deer to watch. Bring your tubes, floatees, swim suits and water shoes for a wonderful stay!

The accommodations for sleeping were plentiful, games for kids and toys were excellent. Kitchen fully stocked. River access was easy. Lots of wildlife. They did overbook us on the last day so we had to check out a day early which worked with our schedules but potential renters should be aware.

Bachelorette Party

We had a great stay here for a bachelorette weekend! There were plenty of beds, location was great, and river access was awesome. Check in was a breeze. The house had a lot of items you do and don’t realize you need- plenty of pots and pans, condiments, etc. Overall, it was perfect for our group and our 4th of July weekend trip.

Great family vacation

Rented this for my kids and grandkids. They loved it! Family of 5 had lots of room to play and relax. Great fun at the river all day! Enjoyed the backyard and covered porch in the evening. Upstairs space with lots of toys and books for kids.

Wimberley Market Days Getaway

We are 4 long-term friends who spent the weekend here and shopped at Market Days and Wimberley Square. We enjoyed the house. Check in was a snap. There was enough seating in the living area for us to spread out and be comfortable. The air conditioning was good and the kitchen was adequately furnished. The owners must spend a lot of time here because there were more personal items than any other VRBO house I have rented. It was not bothersome, just unusual. Our major complaint was that there was no cable/satellite, as advertised. Three of us cannot turn our minds off enough to fall asleep without the TV. It was disappointing. We did watch some Netflix movies. At least there was that. Also, the sheets on one of the beds smelled sour. It was like they had sat wet too long and soured before they went into the dryer. One of the main reasons, we took this house is because of the number of bedrooms. Affordable 4-bedroom houses are difficult to find and this one fit the bill. All in all, it was a great weekend.

Easter Weekend

Beautiful location. The home was well kept, accommodating and relaxing. The outdoor space was beautiful and the kids loved running around and the tire swing. Would recommend if you want to get away and relax.

Great location

This home is very convenient to Wimberly. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs. Two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. Full size washer and dryer. Creekside BBQ restaurant is 10 minutes away on River Road. The Wimberly Cafe and Wimberly Square are about 15 minutes away. We loved watching the herd of deer every morning.

Wonderful family retreat

My family (three adults, two young children, and one teen) stayed four nights for spring break. This property was perfect for us. There’s lots of room and it’s clean and very comfortable. We cooked several meals and found all the cookware we needed in the spacious kitchen. I would recommend this property and will likely book again.

Good, but not the best for couples

Let me start with the positives: -house was clean, communication was good, and the owner was nice. - nice big back porch. - the private river access area was beautiful Better for families than couples because of the bathroom layouts. 2 of the three bathrooms are within the bedrooms. Only one stand alone.

Amazing

We had an amazing time at the house, the River entrance is nearby and so convenient for all of us, we couldn't ask for more, property was clean and had everything we needed for cooking for a large group, we will definitely rent again.

Family weekend reunion with new baby boy in 2020!

This property is consistent with VRBO's description and photographs. We were blessed with unseasonably pleasant weather compared with normal Texas July heat! If you're a porch-lover, this property has access from two downstairs bedrooms -- without disturbing other family members. Another bonus to this property is its private, gated access to the Blanco River. Ample parking, too. And the co-owner introduced herself when we arrived. I highly recommend this home for your next visit to Wimberley, the Blanco and outstanding Texas Hill County location.
