About Sofia Goncalves
Peter, originally from Sydney and Sofia, Portuguese born and raised met in Port Douglas 6 years ago. It wasn't long until we discovered each other's love for renovating, designing and breathing new life into spaces, making them more user friendly, soul soothing and ultimately happier places. Pineapple Pete's is our personal home which we share with visitors form all over the globe and has been mindfully curated over the years. We hope that its good vibe will rub off on all of those staying, it really is the perfect beach family home.
Sofia Goncalves purchased this House in 2000
Why Sofia Goncalves chose Port Douglas
The house was built in the 80's and completely renovated and extended in the last 7/5 years. Peter's family had moved from Sydney's Pittwatter to Port Douglas in 1981where they settled before taking off on a Round the World sailing trip that lasted for 5 years. Many years on, and after having lived overseas for the majority of the time, Peter decided to settle back in Port Douglas and turn an old 80's shack into the modern beach house that it is today. The house is in Solander, which is the quietest and nicest neighbourhood of Port Douglas, where you can find a well balanced mix of holiday homes and secluded local homes, local kids riding their bikes and skate boards in the streets, familiar faces walking their dogs or returning from their ritual morning beach yoga. We feel the house is the pinnacle of the laid back Australian way of life, and love sharing it with others.
What makes this House unique
This house has a VIBE - there is frankly no other way of saying it. It has a personality of its own that embraces who's in it. Is it the abundant artworks, the colour scheme, the honey tones of the local timbers used throughout, the crisp white walls, the surrounding coconut trees? Come stay and tell us what you think! :)
