This rustic cottage was built in the early 1900's and was home to the hospitals matron for a time. It is perfect for a family getaway as its situated in the heart of Murtoa. This beautiful town has always been a haven for wildlife and has one of the most attractive lakes in the Wimmera. A main feature within the town of Murtoa is the impressive 1890s avenues of sugar gum trees around most of the lake. There is a playground, BBQs, Rotunda, swimming pool, tennis / basketball courts, and large lawned areas within walking distance of the home, Rabl park immediately to the North of Lake Marma as well as a series of waterways and ponds with attractive treed surrounds. This town also incorporates a Skate Park, playground, the 1896 Railway's walking bridge and large grassed areas. Both Lakes are great fishing and recreational areas, with a boat ramp, picnic areas, abundant birdlife and pleasant walking tracks. The town of Murtoa is also only a short distance from many other family attractions, such as a 15 minute drive to Horsham where you can visit the Horsham Regional Art Gallery or you could even drive another 20 minutes to the Grampians and enjoy a memorable 4WD experience. The location of this holiday house is ideal as it is surrounded by a range of attractions suitable for the whole family. But sorry, No Pets Allowed. Due to the soft furnishings and carpets in the cottage, unfortunately this property is unsuitable to accommodate your furry friends.

Apologies for the BBQ not being clean, this must have been an oversight from the caretaker after a busy preceding period with high booking numbers and quick turnovers however, we will make every effort in the future to ensure that everything is checked/cleaned between each group of guests.
Apart from that, it sounds like you had an enjoyable stay.
We would love to have you stay with us again and thank you for the feedback.

Property itself is fine, if quirky (crooked), but freezing in bedrooms at night. Could easily be solved with non-fan, convection/panel heater - or just visit in summer. It was frosty, but otherwise a great place.
A quirky cottage that was warm and comfortable.A few minor maintenance issue that need to be addressed - no light in the hallway. back door was jamming and key to the Games room as per notice in the kitchen did not work. We wish the fridge had been turned on prior to our arrival as we had bought a lot of food with us that needed to be put into the fridge. The coffee was out of date so if you are going to provide it can I suggest that it be in date.
