Amberley is a beautifully appointed, well furnished, confortable home surrounded by the Sandy Bay shops and walking distance to Salamanca, Battery Point and the city. There are 2 outdoor areas to sit and smell the amazing roses inthe garden. We highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at Amberley for our annual girls trip and had a wonderful time. The house is really large so lots of space for everyone. It’s in a great location so you can walk everywhere. It was very clean and the host was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

A very well located property with only a short walk to supermarkets, food and coffee shops. The house is roomy, warm, comfortable and well equipped. It was an excellent base for day trips out of Hobart and for exploring Hobart itself. Communication with the host was easy. We were charmed by the property and very highly recommend it.

Such a beautiful property. The house was so welcoming it immediately felt like home. We were a group of four ladies and the home catered beautifully for us. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding was luxurious. In a prime location in Sandy Bay, close to many lovely cafes and restaurants as well as supermarkets and the Hop On Hop Off bus stop. The weather wasn’t great, but it was so warm in the house and on our last day we could see Mt Wellington from the living room window. Lisa was so easy to deal with and responded quickly to any questions.

Amberley was a beautiful old victorian house situated in a fantasic area that had everything in walking distance. The space was fabulous and abundance.The house was very well taken care of and the service that lisa provided was second to none! A little slice of heaven!

Wow. Just wow. A great host, a great property, a great location. Need we say more? We loved every minute we spent at this charming property, in easy walking distance of Sandy Bay, Battery Point and Hobart CBD. (If you don't like walking up steep-ish hills then go along the main road though!)Everything was lovely and clean, very comfortable and we found everything we needed with ease. When we're heading back to Hobart with a small group, this will be the first property we look at for availability.

Birthday Celebration

Took my friends on a destination birthday. This house was perfectly designed with 3 queen rooms, 1 double and a single room. It was well stocked with utensils and glasses. We cooked up a storm. The location was close to major supermarkets and tourist spots, just amazing.

Excellent Stay at Amberley

This property has got beautiful indoor furnishing and outdoor layout. It was spick and span and it made our 5 nights in this property wonderful. The indoor amenities were complete and all of us love it so much. This property is also in a super good location. We want to thank the host for her prompt response whenever we call and her bottle of complimentary wine.

Girls Weekend

The house is stunning and in a fantastic location to walk into Salamanca Markets, Hobart restaurants and local pub and eateries. Lisa was amazing and sending texts to give all the information needed and checking to see if all was okay. We all agreed when we come back to Hobart, Amberley will be where we will stay. Thank you Lisa for your wonderful hospitality and for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Fabulous Family weekend in Hobart

We recently had the most wonderful weekend away in this amazing house, family of 3 adult couples. Great off street, safe parking. Excellent communication with Lisa the owner. Easy check in process, bonus to be able to check-in early. Thank you for the bottle of red wine. Beautifully renovated home in a fantastic location. Easy walking for us to Battery point, Salamanca and shops at Sandy Bay. Quiet at night. Beds and linen so comfortable and rooms cosy with excellent heating provided. Spacious living areas and kitchen, pod coffee machine excellent. Bathrooms beautiful, showers hot, bonus to have 3 toilets. We would highly recommend Amberley house for your stay in Hobart and we all hope to return again one day. Thanks Lisa for our stay, Jennifer

Location

Great location, close to shops, bars and restaurants. A good walk to Salamanca and Hobart waterfront ( we were all over 50 and easily managed it - even Nanny Goat Steps!)

Fantastic Location and Clean as a Whistle

Seamless Checkin process - communication was great with detailed instructions on how to access the property. On first arrival it was great to see there was secure off street parking suitable for two vehicles which is a rarity in this part of Hobart. The house is absolutely immaculate with beautiful linen and a washing machine with powder provided. Plenty of living spaces and 4 generous bedrooms and a smaller loft style single bedroom. Great for hosting a family. This property is a great place to base yourself particularly if you enjoy walking as a mode of transport. Easy walk to Sandy bay cafes, the casino and our favourite Battery Point and Salamanca. Will definitely stay again when next in Hobart.

I am an enthusiastic host who has lived in Hobart all my life. I have very strong connections developed over thirty years with the Tasmanian wine, food and tourist scene.

I love travelling, gardening and keeping fit.

Adventures have included Annapurna Base Camp, trekking in the north of Vietnam, walking in Southern Italy, safari in Botswana and volunteering with my daughter in Cambodia. Other more relaxing excursions have been touring Northern India, time in Southern France. In Covid times I have taken the opportunity to re-visit many favourite spots around Tasmanian and some new locations e.g. Flinders Island.

I love returning to our city Hobart of only 200,000 people but has everything that larger cities have under the magnificent shadow of Mount Wellington and set on the picturesque Derwent River.

I cannot live without my family, dachshund puppy (Lily), and to relax most evenings with a great meal and a glass of Tasmanian Pinot.
