Eleuthera get away

Cozy, well-appointed, light and airy. Everything you need and enough space for two. Easy access to almost everything in Governor’s Harbor. French Leave Beach is beautiful and easily accessible / nearby. Great value for the price. Quiet and peaceful setting on a lovely property. Well managed.

What a lovely property. As described, it’s a perfect getaway spot in Governor’s Harbor. Graet location - a few blocks walk from the Buccaneers club, and a few minutes, drive to Tippy’s and a beautiful beach on the Atlantic side. Dominic was a super host and so helpful. Highly recommend and hopefully will be back!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Peach House is ideally located, walking distance from both Governors Harbour and the amazingly serene and beautiful French Leave Beach. The house is 2 floors and we stayed in the upper floor apartment. The apartment is perfectly sized for a small family or, as in our case, a couple. It is lovely to be as a base or for lunging on the deck or the couch with a good book. My wife and I stayed for a few days and devoted ourselves to very little (although we did make use of our rental car). The distances are real and the roads are basic, so our car was useful. We were greeted by owners Kathy & Bob Coleman and they proved not only professional but also very warm and considerate (leaving food and wine for us, for example). They live on adjoining land and are very discrete. We came home as two very mellow, healthier, happy and recharged parents and partners. In no small part, this was due to the lovely apartment: cosy, stylish, warm, inviting and full of charm. A charm, I hasten to add, that saw us lounging on the couches when and if we weren't on the idyllic beach.

Quaint little apartment on a magical island!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arriving to The Peach House (upstairs), we were greeted by the owners, Kathy and Bob. Bob had a great sense of humor, and Kathy had an instant presence about her that made you feel at home. Kathy gave us the lay of the land, and had provided food and beverages to help us settle in right away. The apartment was very charming. Albeit small, it was the perfect size for a couple, as we didn't even spend much time there. The living room was bright and airy, and tastefully decorated. The bedroom had a king bed and ample storage space for clothes and luggage. The kitchen was more than sufficient for our needs. We like to occasionally cook in, and there were plenty of tools etc for us to do so. The listing is actually outdated (to our benefit) - the half bath that was once in the apartment was converted to a laundry room, so we didn't have to share with the downstairs apartment. That said, the dryer in our unit wasn't working, but no big deal, as Kathy told us to use the one downstairs since that unit was unoccupied. Kathy and Bob live right next door - we said our hellos in the morning / evening, but we never felt like they were intruding on our stay. The side decking facing the small ocean view does look over the house next door, but we were either at the beach most days or out to dinner in the evening, so it wasn't a huge deal for us. That said, some newer outdoor furniture and access to an outdoor grill on the property might be a nice add for folks staying in the future, as some may want to enjoy a nice night in at the property. All in all, this was an excellent choice for us, and we are already thinking ahead about another trip to Eleuthera in Kathy and Bob's nearby (larger) properties. Thank you again Kathy and Bob, we hope to cross paths again!

Always a pleasure!

The Colmans are good hosts and Kathy makes certain that guests' comforts and needs are met! This is my third stay at the Peach apartment (husband and I also stay at their Tops house at Governors Estates). It feels like a second home, so that says a lot, as I settled in and enjoyed living in Eleuthera. I don't need to reiterate the virtues of being on the island as others have already done so. It's the best to me and I hope for thee! Donna

Probably the best house in Governors Harbour

We were upgraded and stayed at Tops House in Governors Harbour and I can say, that every expectation we had was exceeded. We found two spacious sleeping rooms with ensuite bathrooms, very pleasently furbished and equipped in very clean condition. Everything is there: beach towels and chairs, umbrellas, kitchen with microwave, coffee machine, mixer..., outside grill, pool with deck chairs, veranda chairs. Pool and garden are permanently maintained and cleaned. It was a pleasure staying there and try the local goods in our holiday kitchen, go for a drink ervery now and then to Tippis or 1648 or Sunset Inn, have a coffee and a peace of rum cake at Da Perks when waiting for the fisherman, walking along Club Med Beach and enjoy the fresh Atlantic waters, practice Yoga in the morning on the spacious veranda towards the garden, browse the internet at the private pool with the free WiFi and, and, and... We strongly recommend this place - eather for a family with two kids or two couples.

Lovely Cottage in a Lovely Location

The Upper Peach House was a great choice. It fulfilled our expectations and more. The house was so clean and very bright with plenty of room for two people. The grounds are maintained beautifully. The location is central to the island, which is helpful for anyone who wants to see the whole island, as we did. We could break up the driving by going south one day and then north another. The owner, Kathy Coleman, is an absolute delight. We really enjoyed talking with her and she is warm and friendly, ready to help in any way. Very thoughtful to provide a cell phone for emergencies, welcome food & beverage and eager to accommodate. We will gladly rent from her again. Everyone at Eleuthera Vacation Rentals was very helpful and eager to be sure we were happy in getting our reservation in place. Eleuthera is beautiful. Very quiet and relaxing. Not many dining options, but enough to take care of us for the week. Our favorite restaurant was 1648, which happens to be very close to the property. Tippy's is fun for drinks & catch the live music if you can as it is only once a week. Skye Beach is fun for a day of beach with a pool & drinks. Lighthouse Beach is quite a drive, but worth it. Stunning views from on top of the rocks. We use Turnquest Car Rentals and Arthur was great! Would use his service again. Extremely casual island, don't bother packing anything very fancy. A wonderful island to just chill.

Quaint and beautiful

Peach house was very cute! We had the upstairs unit. Very good value for the property! The unit was modern and very cozy. The view isn't as great as a beach front property and you will need to drive to get to the nearest beach, but it is in a good location, and we had a wonderful stay!

Excellent Stay

The upstairs Peach house rental was perfect. You can sit on the outside deck and enjoy a distant view of the water and the most beautiful beach is a 10 minute walk or quick car ride. The apartment was tastefully decorated and filled with everything that you could possibly need. The owner Kathy lives right next door and is always available for advice. I would rent again in a heart beat.

Home on Eleuthera

Kathy, Bob and Joe the dog made our stay a perfect one! Everything we possibly could have needed for our stay was provided by the warmest people. Not once did we feel alone or left to fend for ourselves. Highlights: - being welcomed with a quick rundown of what to do, what to eat, and the best lasagne we've ever tasted after a long day of flying - the bright lighting during the day and spotlessly clean design of the house - views from every window and balcony that somehow manage to still feel private due to the landscaping -- which has a garden you can use! - a land line so that anyone calling from the island doesn't need to use long distance - several amenities you'd have at your own home, so you don't need to buy several things you can't bring on planes when you get there - central location with easy access to shops, banks, great restaurants and the best beaches - being greeted by Joe the dog each night we came home, one night Joe decided to take a nap in the livingroom with my husband :) Joe's great to hang with, especially when you miss your own pet! We plan to come again with a larger group so we can try the other houses! All of them are designed with impeccable taste. They are perfect against the backdrop of the beauty and colours of Eleuthera.

Amazing honeymoon

Kathy and Bob were fantastic! We stayed at the upstairs apartment of the Peach House and fell in love. The house has everything you need for a great vacation and the location is perfect. You can explore the island and visit all the amazing beaches Eleuthera has to offer. We hope to make it back to the island again someday and we will definitely stay with Kathy & Bob.

A wonderful week in Governor's Harbour

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Peach House. The apartment was exactly as described, and Kathy was very attentive and did everything to make our stay comfortable. The location is ideal, with access to shops, businesses and restaurants just down the hill. Kathy put us in touch with Elliot ("Biggie") who rented us a 4WD vehicle in good shape, and we tooled around the island with no issues. Perfect stay on Eleuthera

We had a perfect week in the upstairs apartment of the Peach House. Kathy welcomed us with some home made lasagna and some cold beers so that we didn't have to find something to eat the first night. She was also very helpful and gave us some great tips for the island. The apartment is very nice and has everything you need. The apartment is fully equipped and even has an AC. We had a great time!

Wonderful home with all amenities!

We could not have been happier with our stay at Sweet Corn! The home was incredible! This is definitely a 5 star property and our stay was the same. And the managment team could simply not be better! Reasons for the five star review- -Perfect location near shopping, restaraunts, beautiful beach, and the main highway -Personal pool! -Extremely helpful management staff. My questions over email were answered extremely quickly and kindly. My wife was sick on the trip and they rushed out to get her Gatorade and checked up on her throughout the day. -We were able to borrow a cell phone which made driving around the island alone more comfortable -Really comfortable beds -Well stocked kitchen kitchen with plenty f appliances -Fans and individual AC units -Three balconies!

Peach Perfection!

From Marrakech to Booth Bay Harbor, Peach Cottage is one of the most charming places I have every stayed and the owners, Bob and Kathy, are responsive, efficient and delightful. The room lay-outs flow, the views of the Atlantic peeking through the garden's lush plantings are dreamy, the soft breezes refresh and it has a bed that even this princess finds super comfortable. The BEST again! Thanks Kathy and Bob...

My husband and I toured Peach House when we stayed at Tops House in December 2013. We decided that it would be a perfect accommodation for me to stay alone. Once again, I had no qualms about wiring a rental deposit in advance. To any traveler who is advised not to do so: you can be assured that the Colemans are legitimate and trustworthy. Once you actually meet them, see their houses and facilities, you will agree! I rented Peach House upstairs with its wrap around deck and 360 views in March 2014. You can see a bit of the harbor and ocean, sunrise and sunset through many windows and french doors that render the apartment light and airy. Magnificent! And, you can hear the rushing tide in the distance. I enjoyed being at tree top level and feeling the breeze and wind, watching and hearing the birds, seeing butterflies. The king bed is a treat...most comfortable. There is sufficient room for two to be sure, but I enjoyed having the space all to myself! Everything is spotless, in working order and all that one needs. Kathy consistently provides special attention to her guests. She and Bob, her husband, are terrific hosts; Joe Louis a faithful visitor. For those who may consider staying at any of the Coleman's houses, Tops, Corn or Yellow, they are spectacular! My visit also included riding at Oceanview Farm where Angela and Kelley are terrific guides along the beach and through trails. I toured the Leon Levy Plant Preserve for a few hours and met staff there who really know their horticultural and geological history. The guys down at the dock sold me nice lobster tails that made for many meals along with fresh greens from Kathy's garden. And then of course, there was tea at the library where I met more wonderful residents who shared their lives with me. Lunch and dinner at Tippy's was excellent, and Elliott's smiling face a warm welcome back. Again, Victor, from Big E's (Elliott Rolle) car rental provided excellent service. Thanks to Julianna and Tara at eleutheravacationrentals.net for their efficient handling of arrangements. Lastly, the sun, sand, surf and and turquoise waters make the day and beckon my return!

Owners Kathy, Bob and Joe the dog were great throughout all of the process of booking and when we were staying (except Joe, of course, who is a dog and hasn't quite managed to understand how to use email - yet.) We arrived after all the shops had shut, but Kathy kindly left us a huge container of water, eggs, wine, bread, a lovely veggie lasagne and some wine/beer to keep us going until the shops opened the next morning. We had the downstairs apartment, which was spotless, well laid out, had all the facilities that were needed including a washing machine outside shared with upstairs. The best compliment to say is that all the photos were a true to how the place actually is. There's no swimming pool, but the gorgeous French Leave beach is around 15 minutes walk. We can't drive, so couldn't hire a car. Since there's no public transport and it's a VERY long island, we knew we'd be based very close to where we were staying. It didn't prove to be a problem at all. The apartment is on top of the hill between the beach on the east side of the island and and the town of Governors Harbour on the west. The town, with its supermarket and shops, was only a 10 minutes walk down the hill or 15 minutes walk back in the 28c sunny weather. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, the Buccaneer Club became a favourite where the Kalik beer was always cold. Overall, totally recommended and if you need a place for a few days or a few weeks in the lovely island of Eleuthera, get in touch with the owners and you will not be disappointed by anything.

Everything you could Want ++++

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peach House and highly recommend it. Eleuthera is such a quiet island it is important that you have a comfortable place to spend evenings. Peach house has everything you could want in a rental including 2 cold beers in the fridge. It comes with hair dryer, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, cooler packs….etc. The upper unit has a 3 sided deck with multiple chairs and seating options, TV, Wi-Fi and Ipod docking along a fully equipped small kitchen + laundry facilities (downstairs). I recommend renting a place with some sort of kitchen facilities solely because a lot of the restaurants are some what average and expensive. I don’t think you could find a better equipped rental on the island plus you get visits from your vacation dog “Joe” and the owners (Kathy and Bob) live on site and are available for any concerns or questions you might have. So what Peach House doesn’t have is purified water (you need to buy bottled water for drinking). The water is from a cistern and while safe for showering and washing it’s not for drinking. The location of the Peach House is on the hill, so you get a small ocean view but it’s super quiet and sea air is fresh. We did walk into Govenor’s Harbour but you really need a car to get around the island to the beaches and sites. Highly recommend making the trip to Harbour Island and driving over the glass bridge. Favourite beach was Alabaster by the airport, better road access than Ten Bay. Renting this place was a breeze as all deposits can be made via CC (extra charge- common in the Bahamas) plus all emails and questions were promptly answered by the Eleuthera Vacation Rentals Agents Juliana and Tara. We will be back to Eleuthera and plan on staying here again.

Very nice!

The apartment has everything you need. We brought our 10 month old daughter and we where therefore extra exited about the place. It is beautiful, it is close to grocery stores and the beach. It is CLEAN and Kathy and Bob are wonderful.

Best vacation of my life!

This island was my dream place, never crowded, never noisy.... miles of pink beaches with occasionally few other people. We had a great time on Eleuthera and we loved Kathy and Bob place, we felt like at home, nothing missing, everything practical and clean, so nice and comfortable, the deck all around the apartment is great we could spend a lot of time outside because we could choose the sunniest spot or the less windy.... she really thought about everything for her tenants.... We think that their location on top of the hill at Governor Harbor is the best after exploring the all island... we loved it there! They gave us very good tips at the beginning of our vacation to find grocery stores, restaurants and the best beaches.... they were there for us! It is the best place to relax, to enjoy great beaches and nice people .... everyone nice and smiling. I will recommend Eleuthera and Kathy places to all my friends and loved one!

Paradise Island and paradise House

The house was perfect and the owner Kathy let you fell at home. The House has everithing you need for a confortable stay. Kathy help us for everithing we need. The house is very quiet, and very warm, furnished with style and the kitchen is well equipped. The house is very clean and in very good condition. The location is excellent to visit Eleuthera and nearby there are good restaurant. We recomand this property to all our friend
