Get away

A short trip with my mom and my sister at the last minute, to get away after our dad passed away a few weeks ago. Unit was exactly as pictured, easy to get to, super clean, had everything we needed.We were surprised to see the devastation on the key after the hurricane's last year(don't know why). The beach is not the same and there was not a lot of sand area to setup near us. However, that did not lessen our overall experience. We are grateful to everyone rebuilding and repairing.

My Uncle stayed there because me and my kids flights got cancelled so we didnā€™t make it But my Uncle said he was very impressed and had a great time and would definitely stay there again and gave it 5 stars!!

Just as described; access to the beach is a short walk away. Restaurants are a mile and a half. We walked to avoid having to find parking.

Clean and friendly

We enjoyed our stay! We loved being near the beach and seeing dolphins on our walk. The hosts were very quick to respond to our questions. The other guests were very friendly and were repeat customers. The island is recovering from hurricane, but this place is in great shape and the beach is beautiful.

Great location, short walk and good access to the beach and canal, nice and very clean place, very helpful and friendly owner Paula and her helper Tiffany. Not far away from the island's restaurants, gift shops and food stores, Walgreens. Definitely recommend this place.

Great location!

Everything was as described! Clean, close to everything, easy to contact the hosts and the arrival gift was a pleasant surprise! If you plan to stay, you will not be disappointed! The beach is right across the street! Restaurants all within walking distance or short drive. My only suggestion to the hosts would be to number the units with the building number too. We had unit 1A, I went to the wrong Unit A at first and didn't realize it until another couple staying told us the other building was 1. Not a huge deal, just a thought šŸ˜Ž

Starfish Stays

My husband and I spent 3 weeks in Unit 1A of Starfish Stays. The property manager, Stephanie, greeted us at the car and helped us carry our luggage up the stairs to the unit. She is so friendly and helpful. The unit was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed, including beach towels, chairs, umbrella, fishing rods, and beach toys for children. There were plenty of extra bathroom supplies, such as towels of all sizes and toilet paper, bath soap, hand soap, and even a small tube of sunscreen! The kitchen was well supplied with all the essentials we needed. We couldnā€™t figure out how the TV worked but a phone call to the owners cleared that up. The ceiling fan in the front bedroom is noisy, so we didnā€™t turn it on. The rug in the living room has a turned up corner - it just needs to be spun around so that corner is in a place where nobody can trip over it. We love Starfish Stays, and have already booked our stay for next year!

For the cost, we expected this to be more of a 4 or 5 star experience. I had some issues that I attempted to address with the property manager privately on check-out day like: getting a call at the time of check-in informing us the electronic door lock was broken to the front door, the toilet and sink were leaking in the middle of the night in the only restroom, and there was dog hair present. But the property manager only addressed the leaking toilet and sink, without any apology, no making it right, and accusing me of going against VRBO policies. As I told the property manager, I would expect (as Iā€™m sure future guests would as well), that everything is working and cleanly as listed. Unfortunately that was not the case for us on our visit.
