What makes this cottage unique

It is an historic cottage from 1880 completely renovated better than new in the period 2004-2013 using the latest Green technologies and standards available. We recently contracted a third-party evaluation of the property. Cost of construction alone came out at about 1.2M$.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our Management informs you that our principal shareholder - owner was hospitalized for July 1, 2015 until July 23, 2015 followed by a mandatory recovery/leave period of one (1) month. Given this situation , we are unfortunately observing significant delays regarding the reimbursement of rental deposits - by loss of bank authorization for about sixty (60) days. During that timeframe, emergency measures have been taken to nominate and legally register an Acting Executive. Refunds will resume as normal this week - and we will process all outstanding/late refunds in emergency. Thank you for your understanding and asking you to accept our sincere apologies for this act of God. Again many thanks for having stayed with us this year 2015 !

Bed bugs

On our third night we realized at least two of the beds had bed bugs. My children had multiple bites. We contacted Yuris (who claimed to not be the owner and refused to come over), but she said she couldn't do anything. She claimed the owner, Jean-Francois Omnes, would refund the remainder of our stay, but we are still waiting. We were forced to leave that day, and have heard nothing from Mr. Omnes.

Prior to that, we were surprised that the apartment was not as described. It only had three bedrooms, with two random beds in the living room. The "presidential office" was jammed in there as well and was just a dinner table with four chairs. The walls and doors were pretty grubby and the shower and tub did not drain properly, resulting in standing water while bathing. The kitchen had peeling formica countertops. Overall, we felt like the description was misleading. This apartment is probably just fine for a weekend of adults partying, but not good for families or people looking for nice accommodations.

From the title of your review, other Home Away members might think that you stayed at some run down property and not in a luxury, eco-friendly and clean penthouse that has 1) thirty nine 5 star reviews from happy guests and 2) an overall excellent score of 4.4/5. I would like to draw your attention that the next guests/family that stayed at the penthouse gave the penthouse rating of 5 stars and their review was “Loved the apartment, great location. Overall we were very pleased.” Also, another family that stayed in the penthouse earlier in June of 2017 commented:”We are a family of 6 adults who visited over July 4th week. This home provided everything we needed. From a very well stocked kitchen to wonderfully comfortable beds. There was plenty of room for all of us to relax in the living room together, eat at the kitchen table, and even enjoy a nice cook out on the roof top deck! Excellent location and fantastic patio

A group of friends came to enjoy a trip to Montreal and this house was the perfect home base to do so. The location of the place is fantastic and right in the middle of a really cool neighborhood. It's easy to access just about all of the city from the apartment. Moreover, the patio is larger than we thought it would be an awesome amenity. Definitely recommend using this space during the warmer months.

Would definitely stay in this house again!

Also, perhaps this is unusual, but the house had FANTASTIC showers! Not always the case w/ rentals and it was welcomed!

Everything we needed!

We are a family of 6 adults who visited over July 4th week. This home provided everything we needed. From a very well stocked kitchen to wonderfully comfortable beds. There was plenty of room for all of us to relax in the living room together, eat at the kitchen table, and even enjoy a nice cook out on the roof top deck! Short walk to cafes, restaurants, parks, and grocery!

Yuris was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions and requests! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Fantastic spot in a perfect location.

I would highly recommend staying at this property. It's very clean with a great kitchen and awesome roof deck. Very close to all the hottest spots in Montreal and especially close to the beautiful park. Also, it was very nice working with Yuris, who was super helpful!

Beautiful Penthouse

Excellent location, local festival when we were there added to the experience. Near good restaurants and other amenities. Yuris was excellent to communicate with. We had all necessary information before check-in to enjoy our stay without constant back and forth with Yuris.

Place was clean and had everything needed to spend the weekend.

Just beware of cyclists when exiting vehicles.
