Lovely soundside cottage

Lovely cottage near the sound. Close to beaches and nearby lighthouse. Ideal stay for a romantic getaway. Very clean and well-equipped. Really enjoyed our stay.

Outer Banks Cottage

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property. We had read reviews noting the living room furniture and the mattress quality; however, we found that both features were comfortable. We did noticed that the floors were very dirty upon our arrival. For example, when in the living, we found clumps of blonde hair on the floor (my husband and I have dark brown/black hair). We also noticed that the bathroom, while by first glance looked clean, upon further inspection there were aspects that should have been given more attention. For example, the sink nozzle had mold build up and the floors felt dirty after stepping out from the shower. Another downfall was that there were only 2 bath towels for the entire stay - we looked in all cabinets and draws to find others, but did not. It did not bother us, but something to note if you need more than one bath towel for your stay. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking appliances and utensils and the deck was also a nice feature.

Mermaid House

GREAT: -Beautiful updated house -Everything we needed was there except a microwave and it turns out we didn’t really need it. -Very clean -We felt safe -The dock was cool, a great place for morning coffee. NOT SO GREAT: -Furniture and bed were not comfortable for us. No place to just get comfy and relax -No view from the porch. I probably read the description wrong but I though the porch had a sound side view. There is no view at all. -The dock doesn’t have any chairs so we carried beach chairs back and forth. Also, to get to the dock, you have to walk past the owners house and pool which is fine but would be kinda awkward for some people. -No microwave so we heated up leftovers in the oven.

VACACTION STAY

The cottage was convince to Buxton which was nice. For the price this house needs.... Kitchen supplies were little to nothing. No frying pans, baking sheets, cooking utensils/spatula. Living room furniture uncomfortable should be in a sunroom. Bed needs to updated to King. Very nice cottage but for price I will stay at a nicer place.

Perfect getaway

This perfect little spot was exactly what we needed. Quiet, comfortable, clean and well-equipped— close to everything but far enough away to have peace and solitude. The private dock to the Sound was icing on the cake. Allen was incredibly attentive and gracious. Highly recommend staying here for a couple’s getaway, and to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Buxton and Hatteras/Frisco beaches.

Beautiful Buxton

After my husband and I finally found this hidden gem (we had to stop and ask for directions - gps got us close but it was difficult to find). This place was amazing. The beautiful small white pebble driveway was just the beginning! The place was beyond clean. Not one thing did we find unsatisfactory as far as cleanliness - and that is a huge deal for us. Next, I have to brag about the BED. Amazing. More comfortable and plush than our own bed at home. We just fell in love with the comfort of it. So much so that I peeked to see what brand the sheets, pillows, and even comforter was. I want to have my bed just as comfy! So, next, the little pier out back - my husband and I were there to FISH. We mostly fished on Avon pier which was about 15 min away, but one evening we walked out to the little pier with our rods and tossed them a few times. Within about 15 min my husband caught a nice puppy drum. Everything about this trip was amazing. We loved it. Loved the bathroom. Loved the sink in the bathroom. Loved the washer/dryer. Loved EVERYTHING. If there was one thing we would suggest - my husband said possibly consider different living room seating. The rattan type furniture was not real comfy in our opinion. But definitely not a complaint. Thank u for allowing us to stay. We can’t wait to return!

Autumn Visit

We love the Outer Banks in the fall and our stay in this Carriage House apartment was beautiful. It may seem petty but our only complaint was the TV in the bedroom. Instructions on use of 2 remotes would be helpful.

The tv in the bedroom did not work…at all, My husband is a hardware engineer, set up our tv’s @ home & could not get it to work. Boo. Also, a very busy, noisy road that runs practically beside the front door. It was new & clean & comfy, but too far from the beach. Not worth the money we paid. Sadly, we won’t stay here again.

Great property. We were very comfortable in the seaside cottage, but the real selling point is the owners dock/pier - incredibly beautiful views & sunset. Thank you to our hosts for a great stay!

Perfect for a couple's getaway

Clean, modern, private and ideally located beach home. Just a hop and a skip away from the Hatteras Lighthouse and shoreline, the ferry to Ocracoke, and the activities in Avon, Rodanthe, Pea Island and more. Access to the private dock on the sound was an especially nice touch. There's even a highly reputable restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner literally a frisbee throw away on the southwest side. Highly recommended.

Sweetness on the Sound!

This was a wonderful place to stay for two people in a great location on the Pamlico Sound on Hattaras Island in Buxton near Frisco and just a short drive to the Ocracoke Ferry. Close drive to the Avon pier and near lots of restaurants and beaches. This was a wonderful getaway in the Outerbanks and we give it 5 STARS hands down. It was cozy, comfortable, and very clean and matched its exact pictures and profile. We were very happy and would be pleased to return again someday.

Beautiful cottage and exceptional host!

We can't say enough about this property and how special it was! Located in an ideal Buxton location, it is was beautifully decorated, super comfortable and has a fully equipped kitchen. Our host was delightful as well, very helpful and personable and readily available as he lives in a house on the property. The pier is spectacular, a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the view. You can't go wrong with this property. We would stay here again if we returned. Judy and Michael

Cozy with extra special touches

From the comfy bed to the eclectic art...everything about my favorite Hatteras Island getaway is delightful. Perfect for 1-2. No waterview but a quick stroll to the end of the dock brings a peaceful Vista. Enjoy!

Carriage House

This house was the perfect beach house and exactly what we were looking for. Upon entering, the aesthetics were beautiful and the house was spotless. It had everything you can want from a nutri-bullet to a crockpot and the bed was beyond comfortable. The house is located right next to a long dock at a delicious albeit upscale restaurant that oversees Buxton's breathtaking sunsets every night. The Carriage House is located in a quiet, local area with everything you need nearby including the beach. Allen was a generous, helpful host that certainly made us want to come back! You will not regret choosing this home for your getaway.
