Nonetheless, I will have our operations people review the areas of concern that you have noted, in addition to our regular maintenance and cleaning inspections.

Unfortunately, Sandy was among the worst guests we have ever had (more than 15,000 guest groups over 11 years). She ignored our emails to her providing her instructions for her arrival and then complained that we had not provided them. Before she arrived, she asked to be able to check in early. When we told her she would have to pay for this, she said that she would not check in early. She contacted us the day after arrival and asked to heat the pool and spa. When we advised that she would have to pay for pool and spa heat, she said that we should give her pool heat for free because there were ashes on the table outside where they would have had to stay for more than 5 days without them blowing away, that there was a hair tie floating in the pool when they arrived and that she found 3 hairs on the underside of a bath mat. We refused this request because we did not know whether these issues actually existed or not. We inspect each home after guests depart and just before each guest arrives, however, we do not inspect the underside of the bathmats and the guest provided no evidence of her concerns and did not allow us to go to the home to verify or correct the concerns (She has just provided us with photos of a hair tie, ashes on a patio table, and hair in a red bin this morning, 4 months after her stay). I can say for certain that there were no ashes on the patio table or hairs on the pool deck or a hair tie in the pool when the home was inspected a few hours before her arrival. Because I could not definitively prove that there were no hairs on the underside of the bath mat and because she was so upset about this, I processed a refund of half her cleaning fee, the day after she checked out (not several weeks later). I assumed that this would be the end of this issue, however, she chose to wait four months to write a review, presumably in the hope that we would not remember or would not have records of our interaction. Sandy wrote this review because we would not let her get away with not paying for extra services that she wanted for free. I would note that this home has received an average of 4.87 stars across 24 reviews on the other listing site where we have it posted. I would invite potential guests to read the reviews for all of our homes as our average review (631 reviews) on VRBO/Homeaway is 4.3 stars.
