This was a beautiful, sparkly clean, well stocked home- linens and dishes, pots and pans (our adult children baked and cooked great meals) dishwasher, washer and dryer, good books, games, sundries were all provided. There were open shelves and large airy spaces and lots of windows, which made the house even nicer. We enjoyed home-made cinnamon buns on the porch one sunny morning. There was a dock and a view of the water that was peaceful and quintessentially Maine. The only reason that this is not a 5 is that it was a little tricky to find, (no one's GPS got it right) and the road is a bit narrow and dark at night; I was concerned when our children were arriving late in the evening. And, although part of our group hiked directly from the house onto great trails, the villagers among us needed to get into a car to visit a town. Also, through no fault of our gracious host, the internet was spotty at best, and sometimes did not work at all. Because we were 6 adults (some were working remotely), we tended to overload the demand. But this is a fabulous home, and we all felt grateful that we got to experience Acadia while staying here. Acadia, by the way, is also a great destination!
