Jungle Roost, a beautifully appointed 4 story jungle house close to the beach

Imagine being 4 levels up, nestled in Costa Rica’s spectacular, pristine canopy. Welcome to Jungle Roost!

Enjoy your morning coffee on the wraparound deck, watching monkeys foraging and making their way across the treetops.

This 2,500 ft2 home has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is fully and comfortably furnished. It has floor-to-ceiling windows with unobstructed views designed to bring the outside into the open and welcoming interior. This unique home's architectural design includes numerous sliding glass doors that open to allow breezes through the house. There are ceiling fans and AC throughout the house.

The ground level has ample parking, and a laundry room equipped with a washer and dryer.

The main level includes a spacious great room, fully-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar/island, deck surrounding the living area, and bathroom. Also, you can admire the wide outdoor space and jungle garden as a little piece of paradise from over 2,000 ft2 pool deck. The deck is partially covered by a large gazebo, organized with a dining table, and sun lounges. Enjoy your outdoor jungle life while using the outdoor grill kitchen, serviced with an extra half-bathroom and a hidden shower. Indulge yourself in the gorgeous 10-meter swimming pool featured with a lovely waterfall.

Walk up one level to the expansive master bedroom with two queen-sized beds, sliding doors to the wraparound deck, and massive windows for unobstructed views of the canopy wildlife. This level also has a full bathroom.

Walk up to another level to the fourth floor where there are two beautifully decorated bedrooms with king-size beds and a full bathroom. Both bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors on two walls providing access to the wraparound deck where there is a large outdoor chesterfield for quiet reading or siestas. Don’t be surprised if a monkey (or 10!) sneaks past. Stay still, and they will amble by looking to jump from the balcony to the nearest tree. You will be tempted to feed them, but please refrain – there is plenty of healthy food in the jungle.

The nearby beach is gorgeous and quiet (half a mile - 10/15 minutes walking distance). If you are in the mood for more people, funky bars, good restaurants, surf schools, groceries parasailing and fun shopping, just stroll 15 or 20 minutes along the white sand to Manuel Antonio.

We follow the COVID-19 heath and safety protocols, and we have two different COVID testing facilities within 10 minutes of the house. By booking in advance, it will also be possible to organize the test privately within the house's comfort.

Gorgeous home with amazing hosts in stunning location.

We spent 5 nights staying at Jungle Roost. The photos don’t do the house justice, it surpassed our expectations. Beautiful house and gardens with amazing attention to detail. Francesca and Ishmael couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful, amazing hosts, attentive and helpful with any request,m. We will treasure our memories and time staying in the house and seeing Manuel Antonio.

Amazing property, fantastic hosts

We loved our 2 weeks at Jungle Roost,. The location is perfect; in the forest, yet on the edge of town and close to the beach. Sloths and three types of monkey in the garden, not to mention the iguanas and agoutis. The house is well equipped and very comfortable, the pool is great, all worked well for the whole family. Francesca and Ismael are perfect hosts, great communication, offering concierge services with a real generosity of spirit. I’d highly recommend a stay at Jungle Roost. We’d definitely go bank.

No point leaving the villa!

What a lovely spot to spend a week. We combined with an active week in La fortuna so wanted a more relaxed week on the beach in the jungle. This fits the bill. There is more wildlife sat in the garden here than in the actual national park (and it is beautifully laid out). Sloths sat all week next to the house, monkeys spent the week playing in the hammocks and on the balconies, iguanas and agoutis were regular visitors and there were plenty of frogs lurking. 5 minute walk to a stunning beach (or 30 second drive ;-) 10 minute to the local restaurants (though beware the hills!) - make sure you use the top garden exit to avoid the worst hill. I counted 38 different places to sit or sun lounge (its amazing what you do when you are relaxing) from the top balcony to the various seating areas and pool loungers. The pool is massive with plenty of relaxing seating areas too. It was rainy season when we were there and it rained for a couple of hours every day but this makes little odds given the spaces to relax outside under cover. We only did a couple of trips so didn't use the concierge much but he was in touch most days by whatsapp to check on us and when there was a problem with the water supply it was resolved as soon as I mentioned it. Nothing to be improved outside, the bathrooms were a bit tired looking on all 3 floors but the rest of the house was clean, tidy and well designed.

Wildlife paradise

We stayed at Jungle Roost for 11 nights in April 2019. The house was very light and spacious, and well appointed. It is perfectly located, with a couple of excellent beaches within 15 minutes walk, and plenty of good restaurants and a supermarket a similar distance in the other direction. It is fairly steep walking though, so can be quite a challenge in the heat. The area is fantastic, we went on a number of trips which were great fun, and also gave us a view of the country outside of Manuel Antonio. We can particularly recommend the zip lining (we went with El Santuario), white water rafting and horse riding were also great days out. All were booked through the concierge, Luis, a more friendly and helpful man you will never meet. He was on hand for anything we needed throughout the stay, and always with a smile! The star attraction though was the outside area, a fabulous pool and spectacular wildlife. We saw 3 types of monkey, the squirrel and capuchin monkeys regularly playing on the balcony areas, toucans, humming birds, iguanas, agouti, and best of all sloths. And all from the garden area and balconies. There was always something to see, and kept us entertained for hours. We can definitely recommend Costa Rica and Jungle Roost - we would love to come back!
