There's a ton of beds in this home so perfect for large groups. The back patio is a dream but def wished there was a tv back there for college football watching. We thoroughly enjoyed having our Texas state kids with us for the weekend and the house had enough space for everyone!

Great Location

We loved the privacy the location provided and the fact we could drive to the river and sit in the shade. So great to see a healthy river. The house was very clean, beds extremely comfortable and well stocked. This was a trip for our dogs and they had a blast.

This is the perfect location for a large group to enjoy the river. The house is directly adjacent to the river, and it is so well appointed.

Fabulous Gathering

My cousins and our kids loved this beautiful property on the river. The owners went out of their way to make our stay extra special. We hope to stay here again next summer!

Family vacation

Nice home with plenty of room for everyone. It wasn’t a problem for us but access to the river is about 10’ of stairs which isn’t shown in pictures. The bank isn’t too high though and we were still able to get the kayaks in and out fairly easily. The river right behind the house is perfect for the kids to play in!

Accommodates A LOT of guests comfortably.

My extended family and I stayed the weekend for a family wedding. It’s a beautiful scenic quiet location. Wished the weather would have cooperated to enjoy the amenities and activities outside. It was very close and so convenient to get back and forth to the wedding venue/celebration. Haleigh was a great host, quick to respond to our questions/needs and very accommodating with check in/checkout.

Perfect river getaway

We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with friends and family and this beautiful house right on the river was perfect. We spent a good day in the river and spend the evening grilling, cooking, eating, and playing games. Plenty of space for everyone and great location with grocery stores nearby. Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful home.

Family trip

We had a great time at this home. Haleigh is very nice and quick to respond to any of my questions. Check in was easy and keyless. Great backyard for large groups and plenty of fun games for everyone at every age. The river in the backyard is a plus too. Beautiful view. Everyone in my group are happy with the stay. One minus thing is there are no towels racks or hangers in the bathrooms. Overall it’s a success trip.

Son getting married

My son was getting married in Lockhart and needed a big space for 14 people to stay. 3 being kids. It was perfect. The kids had room to run around and play. While we attended events for the wedding in Lockhart. There were plenty of beds for all of us to stay in the same house. Loved it. The only thing I would have changed is to have a mirror in every room. It was truly wonderful. Loved it!!!!

Perfect for Family Gathering

We loved the accommodations for our multi-generational family gathering! There were plenty of beds downstairs for the older family members and plenty of bathrooms to accommodate several people trying to get ready all at once. The teenagers loved the air hockey table and we all loved the round table for game playing! There was one really unique feature that fascinated all of us... the LIGHTED kitchen faucet! Now we all want one of these in our homes. This home was decorated cute and was very comfortable. THANK YOU

Wonderful stay

The property was just as advertised. Haleigh was very accommodating and easy to work with. We had eight adults and three kids (ages 3-7) and there was plenty of room for us. The air hockey table was perfect for the kids. We would absolutely stay here again!

Nice place to stay

We had a large group with plenty of room. Haleigh and Colin were great as with the location. Will not be disappointed if you rent this place. Spend a lot of time on the patio playing games. Very large and comfortable.

Perfect place for family fun!

Very pleased with the home. Very clean and spacious. Plenty of linens and towels for extra guest. The host was very easy to get a hold of and answered any questions we had. Thank you Haleigh and Liz!

Great Venue

It was a great stay for us. We had 6 adults and 6 teens. The house was stocked with all the necessities you could ever want. The river was awesome and we did get to play corn hole which the kids and adults loved. Just to sit in the river in chairs and have the water just flow through your legs was awesome. We would definitely go back!

Nice secluded place with river access

We took a family trip with seven children under 7 (including three babies/infants). There were high chairs, pack and plays, etc. We cooked a lot and found the kitchen to be very well outfitted. The river access is not ideal for younger kids, but we found a couple of shallow areas where they could play with adults supervising carefully. Haleigh told us the river was a bit higher than usual, so it might be a little less stressful with a lower water flow. Just know that there is no "beach" type area, but you access the river via a metal stairway down a fairly steep bank. The listing did NOT include a photo of our favorite room... a game room with air hockey table. That was a pleasant surprise and also provided a place for early rising kids to go where they would not wake up the late sleepers. All in all, we had a blast and would visit again.

Haleigh was born and raised in Texas, after spending nearly 10 years away between Washington DC and Tampa, she and Collin are so excited to be back "home." Collin is Pennsylvania native and loves all things Pittsburgh sports! The Almquist Family purchased their San Marcos home in 2017 and look forward to sharing their vacation home with families from across the country. Haleigh and Collin met in Austin and have always thought of Central Texas as a special place. The moment they laid eyes on the river, they knew this was the vacation home of their dreams.

Haleigh and Collin have now have founded and manage several business around the country and have a knack for customer service. Your family will enjoy the time away and the beauty of the San Marcos River while staying at San Marcos River Rentals.

Haleigh and Collin are proud parents to Axel, 9, Adelynn 3 and Avie under 1. They are no strangers to traveling with children and hope the child friend home will be enjoyed by all.
