If you have a wedding event to attend, you will love staying at Mountain Paradise. Many weddings take place at Kingwood Country Club, Chattooga Belle Farms (11 miles away), and Tiger Winery (6 miles away). Enjoy a spacious home while attending these events!

Mountain Paradise is located at the highest point of Kingwood Country Club and Resort. As you make your last turn to the property and begin your climb you will be overwhelmed with awe at the magnificence of how far you can see in every direction when you reach the top. The sheer beauty is indescribable. National Forests surround you. You will feel like you have entered a world all to yourself and your family or friends!

The front porch beckons you with rockers looking out across the beautiful mountains!

Our home was built with so many extra touches and thoughts put into providing a setting for relaxing in spacious rooms looking out over breathtaking views. The gourmet kitchen creates a focal point for preparing, serving and enjoying your meals with family or friends. The large living area has comfortable seating with all reclining furniture. To make the setting even cozier in the winter there is a Buck propane gas stove that looks and feels like a natural wood burning stove.

The living area and master bedroom suite opens onto the back balcony which extends the full width of the house through French Doors from each area. Off the Master Bedroom is another over sized area, the master bathroom. It provides a large walk in shower with seat, a garden tub, and a double sink in a long counter area.

Overlooking the great room is a loft with a daybed, work surface and comfortable desk chair. Also provided is a monitor and printer. The view from the loft is breath taking also.

At the foot of the stairs coming down from the loft is a large half bath.

There is a staircase to the ground floor leading into the large family room. This room has a 55" LED TV with ROKU, stereo and DVD player. A stone, gas fireplace faces the large area for warmth in the cool months. A Foosball table is provided for further entertainment. A movie library is available. There are 2 bedrooms on this level with one large full bath. In addition there is a porch off the lower level for easy access from the driveway.

To just stay here is a dream but there are many additional activities that we have enjoyed through the years. Hiking to waterfalls is a must, 2 of which are in the Kingwood property and 120 more within a 50 mile radius. Visiting Tallulah Gorge and hiking down the Gorge and across the swinging bridge is easy and delightful. Seven wineries are close by and so much fun to go taste test and pick your favorites. We have enjoyed Habersham, Twelve Spies, Cane Creek, Tiger, Persimmon Creek, Three Sisters and Sautee Nacoochee.

Zip lining is 12 miles away and a must for those with a little adventure in their bones! White water rafting is available 3 miles away and of course fly fishing is very popular in this part of North Georgia.

Of all the groups that have stayed in this area and our home, some of the most enthusiastic are those who have come for couples' retreats, ministry retreats, women's retreats, and families with children who love the outdoors. We provide a beautiful home and God provides the magnificent setting!

"I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;

From whence shall my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth."

Psalm 121: 1-2

About Ed & Rhonda

Mountain Paradise is a custom designed family home. Much thought and prayer went into the careful design and creation of this home. Rest assured that the engineer/owner who designed this home went way beyond the standard safety features of most mountain homes and the quality of all products used far exceed what most builders put into their homes. It was truly built with love and inspiration.

Ed & Rhonda purchased this house in 2005

Why Ed & Rhonda chose Clayton

The property was picked based on the beauty of the landscaping and golf course, the club house and restaurant. and especially the breath taking view of many mountain ranges and National forests seen right from our back deck and front porch. Our home was built to be inspiring to anyone who enters it's doors!

What makes this house unique

Anyone who has ever stayed in this home have felt the peace and tranquility surrounding it. That alone is worth a visit!

Magnificent View

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property. We were thoroughly impressed with mountain views. Very nice. All of the amenities were above grade. We would definitely stay there again. The steepness of the hill was a bit creepy to me but I suppose that it has to be for such beautiful panoramic view.

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

Mountain Paradise will not disappoint. Beautiful spacious home on a secluded lot in an upscale development. The views are spectacular. All amenities with quality furnishings throughtout. Very clean. Our group of seven could not have been more comfortable. Soon after arrival I had a question for Ed which he answered right away. Clayton is only 3-4 miles away. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. I strongly recommend this property for a relaxing, memorable stay.

Beautiful home with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

Mountain Paradise is wonderful! The home itself is lovely. It is very clean, comfortable and relaxing with stunning views all around. It has a great floor plan with every detail thought out. Great kitchen & family areas, comfy bedrooms, many windows and wonderful porches to view the fabulous views. We witnessed sunrises, sunsets, and the beautiful night sky full of stars every day & night we were there from both inside and out between all the windows and porches! We hiked, rented a boat on Lake Burton, and totally relaxed in this wonderful home. We look forward to returning! (We have stayed many times in this area in houses and hotels & lodges. If you are wanting a place to totally relax & reconnect with God's glorious gift of nature then this is it! You don't even have to leave the home!)

Amazing View! Amazing Home!

  • 5 of 5

We were thrilled to spend an entire month in Ed and Rhonda's beautiful mountain home! Gorgeous views from EVERY window. I love to cook and found the space in the kitchen, all the equipment, the wonderful gas stove, and the expansive prep areas to be like home! The cabin's furnishings were cozy and comfortable and everything was clean! There is so much to do in the Clayton area. Zip lining, white water rafting, tubing The Hooch in Helen, golf all around you, shopping in Highlands, NC., hiking, fishing, and wine tasting. We loved lunch at Chatooga Belle Farm & Vineyard, Glen-Ella Springs Inn, BBQ at Oinkers and the Wicked Pig, and The Attic in Clarkesville after golf at Apple Mountain Golf Club. Lot's of cute shops in downtown Clayton. We were welcomed at Clayton Baptist Church downtown -even had members there invite us to lunch! Just can't say enough about Ed & Rhond's mountain cabin and the Clayton area! Thank you, Ed and Rhonda.

Helen, Georgia, a German inspired town 33 miles away. On the way to Helen, GA, you will go through Clarksville, GA, with a town square, quaint stores, great restaurants and a local small town theater, which is worth the drive to enjoy.

The Dillard House: When you visit the Dillard House Restaurant you might expect just a meal, but it's a true Southern culinary event that awaits you. Their menus consist of generous portions of homemade Southern dishes from recipes handed down over the years from Dillard House chefs and generations of Dillard family members. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served "family-style" every day of the year.

Highlands, North Carolina and Cashiers are 24 miles away.

The Tallulah Gorge is a gorge that is formed by the Tallulah River cutting through the Tallulah Dome rock formation. The gorge is approximately 2 miles (3 km) long and features rocky cliffs up to 1,000 feet (300 m) high. Through it, a series of falls known as Tallulah Falls drop a total of 150 meters (490 ft) in one mile (1.6 km). Tallulah Falls is actually composed of six separate falls: l'Eau d'Or 46 ft (14 m), Tempesta 76 ft (23 m), Hurricane the tallest at 96 feet (29 m), Oceana 50 ft (15 m), the smooth "sliding rock" at Bridal Veil 17 ft (5.2 m) and Lovers Leap 16 ft (4.9 m). The Tallulah Gorge is located next to the town of Tallulah Falls, Georgia. Tallulah Gorge State Park protects much of the gorge and its waterfalls. The gorge is considered to be one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia.
