Beautiful property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casa Roja! The view was amazing. It immediately felt like home. We were able to have some guests spend the night for a small stipend. The pool proved to be a life saver after a day in the heat. We can't say enough about the hosts! Extremely friendly and helpful. And did not intrude. We will definitely consider staying there again next time we go to Zihat. Kind regards, Guy and Shine

Wonderful experience!!

From the time we booked, the communication with Donna was extraordinary. She and Tim were a wealth of information, as we had not been to Zihua before. They shared information about the area, experiences they've had living there and what was happening while we were visiting. The property is amazing and just what we were looking for to have an "authentic" experience in this wonderful town. Donna and Tim were very attentive while not being intrusive. We highly recommend this property if you are looking for a place that is true to its community and the local way of life. We were truly blessed by their hospitality and knowledge. Definately on the list of places to visit again!!

Beautiful place with views of the sunrise over the bay. Nice outdoor patio and well equipped kitchen. There are ceiling fans in all the rooms, which was perfect for sleeping. Nicely decorated with Mexican colors and art. The neighborhood can be noisy if you’re a light sleeper—roosters, boat motors, and music.

We are Donna and Tim from Gabriola Island, B.C. who make this Paradise retreat our home during the dreary days of Winter on the coast. We couldn't imagine being anywhere else! The music scene, lovely warm weather...AND especially the people have seduced us and we encourage everyone to have a taste of what THIS good life has to offer. And why not?? On my first trip here, in 2009, I had an epiphany as I watched the sailors come ashore with this "cheshire grin"...like they knew something I didn't....and suddenly realized WE create our own lives and can make of it what we dream of. I met and married MY sailor soon after and we sailed from Gabriola to Zihuatanejo in 2016. We bought Casa Roja and share it with guests, in their private suites, who appreciate the endless beauty and fun, here as well.
We volunteer for Zihuatanejo Sailfest to raise money for the kids here and for Zihuatanejo Guitarfest and are active in the community doing whatever we can to support the locals as they support US with their love and community spirit.

Why they chose this property

Welcome to Casa Roja. Our decor is bright and happy.."muchos colores" with many unique touches that will delight your senses and make you smile. along with a view, and WHAT a view! Never boring with fishing boats going to and fro, music and fun! A 5 minute walk to Centro with unlimited dining and entertainment options. Beaches close by and walking distance to or head to the pier where you can grab a panga to get to Playa Las Gatas.. Enjoy the sunrise from the deck with your favourite cuppa, and then luxuriate in the coolness as the sun sets behind us and watch the moon as she arrives.
We are on the Porto Mio side of Zihuatanejo across the canal, five minutes walking to Centro. It is a very authentic part of town, families live here and only a few hotels and motels. It has a decidedly non touristy feel..a neighbourhood....which we love and think YOU will, too!

What makes this property unique

Right next door to two of the most popular restaurants in Zihuatanejo..sun sets behind us so afternoons are cool and breezy, no glaring sun. 5 minute walk to Centro and the ever popular town centre. Buses and taxis galore! and walking distance to beaches. Dive shop nearby ( just down the street) where you can go diving or snorkelling OR rent an ebike and go for tours! The possibilities are endless. PLUS we have kayaks if you are so inclined to take a little paddle around..
