Southwestern dream vacation--amazing views by day and night!

Our comfy beautiful home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and can sleep up to 8 including the sleeper sofa in the living room. The hand-crafted dining table seats 6 and there is additional seating on 3 bar stools at the kitchen island. The home is nestled in the Organ Mountains outside of Las Cruces, NM. You will be stunned anew every morning when you wake up to the incredible mountain views, and then stay up late to watch the stars from one of the outdoor porch seating areas. If it's nice outside enjoy using our outdoor grill (additional charge; see notes), and if it's chilly relax inside in front of the gas fireplace. You'll be surrounded by nature and so close to so many parks and hiking trails, while also being a short drive from Las Cruces to experience delicious southwestern food and culture. Take a break from hectic life and take a deep breath of desert mountain air!

Note the house does have cable and internet, but we are out in the mountains and they are satellite only--so it can be spotty! If you are looking for the best place to spend a week in online meetings this may not be it. If you're coming to enjoy the great outdoors while still catching up on some emails and maybe enjoy some streaming at night, come on over!

Within about one hour of so many amazing day trips: 
-White Sands National Park
-Hatch (Chile capital of the world!)
-New Mexico Museum of Space History
-New Mexico pistachio and wine country
-ghost towns like Lake Valley and more

And just a few hours more to well known spots like:
-Guadalupe Mountains National Park

-Lincoln National Forest and ski towns like Ruidoso
-Gila National Forest
-Albuquerque
-Santa Fe
-Chaco Culture National Historical Park

Please, no pets and ABSOLUTELY no smoking! Any indication of having smoked or bringing pets will result in an additional cleaning fee.

NOTE: when you make your booking, you will be asked to view our standard short term rental agreement. Once your booking is sent to me, I will email you with a link to go in and sign the agreement. It is the exact same one that you see when booking and there will be no surprises. I reserve the right to cancel the booking if the contract is not returned signed. Awesome space with beautiful views. Our hosts also provided extras to enjoy the outdoor attractions. We took full use of the discs to go sliding at White Sands and the hiking sticks were a perfect companion for that early morning hike on the mountain trails.

Delightful dessert oasis

The property is wonderfully maintained and decorated. The furnishing and decor were very tasteful. Kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials. Communication with owner and their property managers was easy and issues were addressed quickly. Location was terrific and provided access to local trails and beyond.

It was a great stay!

I stayed at this property for 5 nights with two others. The property was exactly as listed and the surroundings are beautiful. The check-in and checkout processes were quick and completely painless. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking for solitude and easy access to nature while remaining within easy reach of Las Cruces.

Incredible Location

Very Nice and Spacious

We went for the weekend and needed a place close to my mom's house. It was very convenient and easy. The house was comfortable, clean and spacious for a family of 4.

Marvelous stay!

The house is clean, well-maintained, and had a well-stocked kitchen with cooking and serving ware. We found everything we needed for preparing meals at home. The beds were comfortable with soft cotton sheets that provided a good night’s sleep. We enjoyed coffee on the patio in the morning and a glass of wine on the patio in the evening. The house is an easy distance to hiking trails and White Sands National Park. We would definitely stay at Casa Turquesa again.

Definitely stay here

The pictures don't do this place justice! If you're in Las Cruces and looking for a place to stay, i highly recommend this location. We had everything we needed and more. The back porch view is so peaceful. The hosts took care of everything we needed. As soon as we walked in, we were all pleased. My in-laws (in their 70s) thanked me multiple times for my selection. We also really appreciated the check-out process. Minimal chores listed. Big fan of that. Will stay here again if we're back in the area.

Incredible Views, Peace and quiet, and comfort

This house was the perfect place for us to spend a month in Las Cruces. The house isn't too far from shopping while enough out of town to provide privacy with peace and quiet to enjoy the surrounding 360-degree views. And having two patios was pretty wonderful. If you love to hike there are so many places close by. My husband and I were the only ones there for the entire stay, but we had family come in for a few days/weeks and they all commented on the accommodations and super comfortable beds. The house is well laid out with spacious rooms and bedrooms that aren't right on top of each other giving everyone space away from others when they wanted it. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare dinners "at home". Plenty of towels and linens. And the host was great. Communications were fast and responsive.

THE BEST OF THE BEST

After 20 years and more than 100 VRBO'S, this one is the BEST of the Best. Stunning views of the Organ Mountains to the East and Las Cruces to the West. Clean with a capital "C". Visited 3 National Parks and 3 National Monuments in 8 days, and spent 2 days in Organ Mtns & Desert Peaks National Monument.. All the Desert SW furniture and decor are High End. This is the first VRBO in 20 years where EVERYTHING worked and NOTHING was broken. Groceries and gas both within 7 miles, Old Mesilla with numerous Mexican restaurants and gift shops only 10 miles. Of the 10 amenities I use to rate a property, this one had 9 (no pool). AWesome beds, K, Q, 2 TW, and Samsung washer and dryer. Exceptional price and a live Coyote in the back yard. Sightseeing in every direction. Good water. Other wildlife in the Organ Mtns/Desert Peaks Natl. Monument include ORXY, Mule Deer, Gambels & Scaled Quail and the rare Mountain Lion. I could go on and on JUST BOOK IT. DW

Perfect Stay

I love it when the property is even nicer than its listing. This is a beautiful home with a beautiful view in a residential neighborhood. Quite large, with room for way more than we had, it's well equipped for cooking, visiting or just relaxing. We largely used it as a base of operations for exploring the area, eating at several of the excellent restaurants around, but maybe next time, we'll just stay in. Katie, the owner and host, was very communicative through email. We felt very well taken care of.

Our family lives overseas for work but wanted to have a home base for when we return to the U.S. We have always loved New Mexico and were delighted to purchase this home in such an amazing part of the state. It has been the perfect dream southwestern home and each time we visit we love to spend our time hiking, wildlife viewing, and eating delicious New Mexican cuisine. This year also happened to be the perfect timing to have a home that's quite socially distanced from anyone else!

We love this home and this area for its closeness to both amazing natural adventures and also the "small city" of Las Cruces and all it has to offer. At this time, its location is even more perfect: what better place to avoid the "corona craziness" for a while than a relaxing stay up in the foothills with almost no neighbors nearby??
