Gorgeous mid-century modern home, boasts ample quare footage of living space, 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, large dining area and 4 season room. The property sits on the River, just under an acre and it is a perfect, quiet, getaway spot for relaxation. Enjoy the firepit, Pool table, fireplace, reading nook, outdoor hot tub, all just minutes to downtown St Joseph. Attractions during every season! Winter, spring, summer or fall there is a cornucopia of activities. Restaurants, beaches, wineries, breweries, boating, fishing, berry picking, apple picking, snow mobiling and many other attractions.

This is a quiet community, and we respect our neighbors. Therefore, we do not allow parties or gatherings of any kind. ****Please read house rules before you consider booking, as they will be strictly Enforced. **** No Exceptions.
This home is for quiet relaxing reprieves only.

50th birthday girls getaway

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at serenity house! It’s a beautiful, clean house and well cared for. We loved the layout which was perfect for our group of 7 women. The location was ideal and the view of the river was amazing! We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends. Hosts were very quick to respond when we had questions which was greatly appreciated.

Great trip

The house was lovely and clean. The karaoke machine was a big hit! And the deck overlooking the river was a wonderful spot for morning coffee!

Wonderful

The home was beautiful, very spacious. Everything was provided that we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Nice relaxing home. Perfect get away. Would love to come back. My only problem we could have used more fire starter. One of the coolest places I've stayed.

Serene relaxing weekend

Wow! This property was amazing for our group's long weekend getaway. The house is extremely spacious with enough common/social areas for the 8 of us to be in without feeling crowded or cramped. We loved all the floor to ceiling windows in the living room and the screened in porch. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. Everyone found their beds/bedding/bedrooms to be comfortable and welcoming. It was awesome to find a house that can accommodate a larger group and each person have their own bed and not an air mattress or sleeper sofa. Check in and check out is an easy process and the hosts are very responsive to any questions or concerns. We really appreciated the book they provide with all instructions as well as recommendations and their favorite things in the area. The back yard is nicely shaded during the day and has good night time lighting so we were able to spend many hours outside enjoying the firepit, sitting on the deck overlooking the river, or relaxing in the hot tub or hammock. There's enough space we were able to set up and play multiple yard games at a time. The property is also just a short ride to Silver Beach and downtown St. Joe's as well as any grocery or convenience store you need may need to get to. I can't say enough good things about this house and I would definitely stay here again.

Visit to Saint Joseph

We recently stayed in this home for a family vacation. Overall, it was a nice stay. There are a few things the owner could improve on such as having extra guests over. It clearly states in her rules that you are not allowed to have extra people over. This house is 3200 sq feet and has a large back yard that includes a hot tub and fire pit. . This is perfect to have guests over. I believe she had a bad experience IN THE PAST. So, no extra guests are allowed. To make sure that didn’t happen, there were exterior cameras around the entire house. Also, a book of rules which included a note stating if you have a party you will be fined and police would be called. I’m sorry if this happened in the past. We were very respectful of her property like most people would be. Along with no guests, we were required to buy damage insurance. Once we were there and read her rule book I felt anxious with my family there worried about every move in the house. She did not allow shoes on the carpet, which was already pretty dirty. We also had a spatula for the grill to cook with on the stove. We were also charged $240 for an extra guest when we did not have an extra person. 10 people were listed on the rental agreement. Maybe, she thought we had an extra guest because my son came later The listing clearly stated sleeps 12 people. As much as my family loves visiting Saint Joseph, we would not stay at this property again.

Stay at Serenity House

Our family enjoyed our stay at this clean, beautiful and spacious home. Our only disappointment was the condition of the grounds outdoors. As first impressions are important, the grounds could benefit with a general sprucing up as many shrubs are in need of a trim. Weeds and invasive plants need to be removed. It could be so beautiful if as much care is taken outside as it is inside.

Family Wedding

Me and my 5 adult children had a family wedding to attend. I loved that all the beds were adult size, not a bunch of pullout and bunk beds other places use to accommodate larger groups. Also great was the hot tub with a beautiful view. The yard was a great size but a bit cluttered with tree debris. I would recommend this location for older kids as it has a large drop off to the river. The inside space was huge and welcoming with tons of amenities and supplies to make our stay easy, relaxing and fun. The 4 bathrooms also made getting ready for the wedding a lot easier! Great proximity to St. Joseph and the lake with a short drive. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Great communication with the owners who were very accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Girls weekend

Group of mom friends getting away from husbands and kids for a long weekend. There were enough beds for everyone and enough bathroom space so that we didn’t feel cramped.

Serenity at the Mid-Mod

Loved the place. It suited our families' needs perfectly. The hosts were quick to respond to our questions. There was plenty of space for us all, and the amenities were great. The location and condition of the home was as we had hoped and expected based on the VRBO information.

House Exceeded Our Expectations

This property is by far one of the nicest places I've rented thru VRBO/AIRBNB. My friend group stayed here for a girls weekend. The house had so many personal touches which included beautiful art work throughout the house. The kitchen /dining are is designed for entertaining and visiting with friends. There is everything you could possible need in the kitchen including paper plates, spices and popular kitchen condiments. Every room had the cutest decor and was so inviting. The backyard was perfect for hanging out and the hot tub is big enough for 8. There are several sitting areas thoughout which was fun for coffee in the morning and wine at night! The hosts are very kind and quick to respond. St. Joseph is a cute town with shopping and local wineries. I will be back for sure.

Great for large groups!

This was the ideal home for a group! The multiple beds in each room allowed for lots of people and the large dinner table let us all eat together. Outdoor space was great as well with lots of different places to sit and gather. We had great weather, but we said multiple times if the weather had been bad we would have plenty of room to be together inside. The hosts were great at communicating and we had no issues during our stay. We will definitely book again in the future!

Complete Serenity

From the minute we pulled into the driveway to four days later leaving, we felt at home, comfortable and serene. The home is beautiful, well stocked and the updated kitchen and four full baths made it a pleasurable trip. All the bedrooms are spacious, and beds are comfortable. We loved having our coffee at the outdoor seating area and played cards on the lanai with its wonderful breezes. Easy entry, easy to reach host, and easy to fall in love with Serenity house!

Beautiful home in a peaceful setting

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is really lovely, with plenty of space and lots of natural light. And the backyard is gorgeous with lots of trees -- so much green! Loved the hot tub and fire pit, too! We had a little trouble with the AC units but we communicated it to the homeowner and she replied promptly. Fortunately the weather was very mild and we didn't need to run them very much. Thank you, Warren & Antoinette!

Mixed Experience

I gave careful consideration before posting this review as I appreciate the impact that negative comments may potentially have on a host’s business. I feel that I have been very honest and fair with the information shared below. I also believe that some of our experience during this stay might be due to the fact that the host is fairly new. First, the home is beautiful, they have taken great care in creating a comfortable, creative space that is close to everything the Benton Harbor area has to offer. We visit many times a year, always staying at various local short-term rentals. Initial communication was easy and professional. During the booking process, the host responded to questions and requests and I tried to be very open and transparent throughout the process as well. The first morning of our stay we received an email indicating that they were receiving alerts that their home safety system had been unplugged- it hadn’t; I was in the process of sending a message to inform them of a disruption in internet service. They were very responsive in having this issue addressed and the internet service was restored quickly, along with their safety system. Very shortly after this I received another email of greater concern. The host stated that we had significantly more people within the home than agreed upon and that the situation needed to be rectified immediately. This information was not accurate and created a great deal of stress as we began to worry if we would be having to address concerns throughout our stay. I clarified and provided accurate information to the host along with expressing how stressful this situation was becoming. Although she later stated that she was simply trying to have open communication- her emails, from our perspective, were accusatory. It resulted in us spending the remainder of our trip walking on eggshells and feeling uncomfortable in the home. Although I was not surprised to see that there were cameras on the exterior of the home, this information was not disclosed anywhere in the listing. I understand why hosts may want to protect their home and property through the use of cameras, however, in this situation, the host made assumptions which resulted in a negative overall experience in spite of how pleased we were initially with the property.

Beautiful and spacious property on the river

We all enjoyed our time at this property. The one regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Great views, clean, and very spacious even with a sizable group.
