The home was large and easily accommodated our family of 12. It was very private since it was nestled among the trees. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. We took advantage of multiple Michigan beaches. The kitchen was especially big, and it allowed for awesome family dinners when we ate there. It made for a memorable vacation experience for our family.

Pros: large house with plenty of space for our group of 9. Kitchen was well stocked, and was very quick access to Hagar Beach, 3 min drive. Cons: house was filthy at least a half inch of dust on all ceiling fans, light fixtures, and cold air return vents. Had a couple stained pillows on the beds with NO pillow cases on them. Had to kill a minimum of 50 black flies each of the 1st 2 days we were there. 3rd and 4th day it dwindled down to maybe 10 per day. Contacted host about filth and flies was told she will contact the cleaning service and that we could spray for flies if we wanted. Stated she was not aware of the fly issue before this. Also wooden floor throughout living room and kitchen felt grimy and when wiped with a wet paper towel it came up pure black. Obviously cleaning is not a priority at this house. Which is too bad because if it had been clean we would have rated it a 5.

We take cleanliness very seriously and were disappointed to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. As soon as you contacted us, we immediately reached out to our cleaning supervisor to investigate the concerns you raised during your stay. Regarding the flies, this was the first report we had received. Because the home is located near a natural wetland area, seasonal fly hatches can occasionally occur unexpectedly. Since we are located about an hour away, we offered to reimburse you for insect spray from the nearby general store so the issue could be addressed immediately rather than requiring you to wait for someone to drive to the property. The concerns regarding the floors were not brought to our attention during your stay, so unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to inspect or address them while you were at the home. The other items you mentioned have been reviewed with our housekeeping supervisor. While we cannot verify every observation after check-in, we have nonetheless used your comments as an opportunity to reinforce our cleaning procedures and conduct another inspection. We appreciate your feedback and are pleased you otherwise enjoyed the home and its amenities. We remain committed to providing a clean, comfortable experience for every guest.

Such a great place!! Our son was ready to live there forever and my husband wants the griddle. The views could not be appreciated with our late arrival but was so what we needed the next morning. Owners were great! Directions they provided answered all.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was spacious and a great place to gather with family. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, and communication from the host was clear and timely. There are a few minor updates that would make the house even better (some loose tiles, a broken toilet handle, etc.), but nothing that impacted our overall experience.

Thanksgiving family retreat

This is such a gorgeous , relaxing place to be especially for the holidays. We disconnected from everything and enjoyed playing cards and games and also hit up the casino with the whole family they all had a great time !!!

The property had many nice features the pictures reflected the nice qualities of the home. We were not able to open ft door with the code. When we reached out to the owner she was said she was busy and try another code. The glass on the ft door was not clean. So first impressions were not good. We cleaned some of the surfaces ourselves. After that it was good. Kitchen was great for cooking. Hot tub was nice and hot. Bathrooms were clean. Bedrooms were nice. Lots of room at this property. Showeres downstairs were just cold water. Beautiful views out of the windows looking into the woods. If alittle more care on cleaning surfaces and glass and more help from the owner it would of been 5 star. I hope my suggestions help. Its a walk to the beach but very clean nice beach and park. We enjoyed our stay.

Getaway for my 73 birthday

We had such a great time!!! The house is so pleasant to hang out in. The main rooms are surrounded with windows. It almost feels like you’re in a treehouse. I would definitely stay here again even though it could use a little freshening up .

Great house to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday. The walk-out lower level, with screened in hot tub, living room, bathroom and bedrooms, was a perfect space for 6 teenage girls. The large upper living space was perfect for the adults and for all of us to gather and eat and hangout. Twelve total in our group and plenty of room for all of us. The walk through the woods to the beach was a fun adventure. Would stay here again. Highly recommend!

Family getaway in Michigan

House suited us so well. 3 couples so all had private spaces including bathrooms. Great kitchen space and lots of room for games and gathering. Easy walk to lovely beach. Close to dining, spa, golf, shopping, etc. with an easy drive.

Beautiful Large Home

Beautiful home on beautiful property. Jacuzzi was awesome. The home was clean and many kitchen items we were not use to having at other rental homes. It was a great place to have a girls weekend!

Great Trip

Great house for a large family. The host was very helpful and responsive. Nice proximity to the beach. I recommend Silver Beach about 15 minutes away, but our dogs loved the closer beach, Hagar. That beach was so nice and close , but my parents could not handle the almost 100 steps to get down. It was our first time to Lake Michigan and I would recommend this house! Just don’t go the Waterfront Restaurant unless there is a big sign reading under new management.

Family stay

Communication was easy and we received timely instructions on travel and use of the VRBO Property. We loved the open layout and large windows with wooded view. There was a large amount of counter space for casual snacking, meal prep and drink area. Thankyou owners!

Spacious and surrounded by nature!

The house was wonderful. Very spacious. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Very quiet and private neighborhood. Communication with the host was very easy. Enough supplies in the house to last us our entire trip. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful property, beautiful setting!

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with our adult children, their spouses and our one year old twin grandsons. The week was fabulous! Close to stores, restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. We had more than enough room. The owners were very responsive and thought if everything! They even had spices for cooking!!!! Just wonderful, I highly recommend this beautiful property!!!

Wonderful stay

Beautiful property in the woods with a quick walk to Hagar Beach. Our family and dog had an amazing stay. Very clean and spacious. We had more than enough space to spread out. The kitchen was nothing short of amazing. Cooked most of our meals in. A quiet relaxing vacation with family. We loved how close south haven and St Joe were. 15 minute drive north or south. Thanks so much for sharing your house with us.

We enjoy visiting other homes and especially those on or near Lake Michigan. On Valentines' Day 2019, we were on a 'date night', heading into St. Joe and spotted an open house. It was love at first sight! We enjoy hospitality and providing a space for people to gather with their families or friends and create memories and this house provides the perfect space!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We fell in love with this home the moment we opened the door! The space opens up into a vaulted ceiling with skylights and large windows span the back and sides, overlooking a wooded ravine. You have the feeling of being in a serene 'treehouse!' The space is open and great for entertaining. It is a short, wooded walk to a terrific local beach park that is kid- and dog-friendly. We love the three season porch downstairs where you can sit in the hot tub and hear the waves of Lake Michigan. (You can see a sliver of Lake MI from the upper level during winter; we're that close!)
