Enjoy the peacefulness of an authentic Texas ranch just minutes from downtown Austin. Nestled just off of Highway 290, this easily accessible, newly renovated Red Barn Studio is located on 90 acres of land. If you rent for 7 nights you get the 7th night free! (discount will be adjusted once the rental request has been submitted). This property boasts spectacular hill county views and is surrounded by exotic game where you can watch the camels (with 2 baby camels), gemsboks, a scimitar herd, and a donkey. The lower level of the Red Barn has an open studio style floor plan with a living area, wall mounted tv, queen bed, twin bunk beds, full kitchen, counter dining for 4, full bathroom, laundry room with full size washer and dryer set and a fully furnished covered patio with a gas grill and more. Upstairs is a large living area with plenty of seating, a wall mounted tv, another bedroom with queen bed and wall mounted tv, full bathroom, full kitchen, counter dining for 4 and beautiful deck- perfect for sunrises and sunsets! There is free WiFi access throughout the property and streaming tv services. The Red Barn Studio is a gateway to the hill country, winery tours, many local wedding venues and much more. There is also plenty of room for a helicopter to land.

Great place!

This was a peaceful, clean, and spacious place for us to use as a home base near our local event. The location was convenient, and the sunrise views were just gorgeous! We also enjoyed watching the exotic animals on the property.

Wedding

Great location for the us to stay for our son’s wedding close by. Property was beautiful and communication with the owner was great. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Game Ranch Hideaway

The location was perfect for our needs for a 3 day weekend. Having a couple of camels and Mama Donk as neighbors was entertaining. The "Barn house" has a nice upper deck where we enjoyed coffee in the morning and libations in the evening. Having one bedroom up and the other down was nice for privacy. The owner was responsive when we needed to ask for hand soap, clean sink sponges and more dish soap.

Wonderful stay- great for extended family!

Very nice layout! Queen, full bath and full kitchen upstairs. Queen, bunks, full bath, kitchen and laundry downstairs. Downstairs entry has just a couple of steps for those who are challenged by stairs. Balcony upstairs for distance view of animals and downstairs covered patio for up close encounters with camels and zebras. Attentive host close by. Great stay, relaxing, comfortable and fun animals!

A beautiful getaway

Check in was normally at 4 but the owners were amazing and let us check in early to get ready for a wedding we came to town for. The Camels, Zebras, Wildebeest, and the Donkey were very neat to see.

Relaxing setting

Peaceful and beautiful

We loved the location, about 30 minutes from the airport. Fairly easy to get into downtown, but near fun venues in hill country. Property was clean and roomy. Fun to view the animals from the deck. Gorgeous sunrises.

Best place for family with kids!

We LOVED our stay here so much we extended it one more day. If we get the chance to, we’ll be booking again for a stay in the summer. The land the property is on is so big and beautiful. The property itself, is so nice and well kept, looks very new. We are a family of four: myself, husband, 6 yo son, and 1 yo daughter. We had plenty of space, necessary amenities and more. The animals come to eat early in the morning and so the kids loved watching them, that was a whole activity in and of itself. The backyard and patio were awesome for our kids to play around (we took horse shoes, balls, bubbles, and small kites) also plenty of space to walk my daughter around in her stroller. We loved sitting out on the balcony, another place to watch the animals from, but best of all for watching the sunrise. The balcony view is beautiful and so peaceful. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Joseph. He is such a kind and funny person and we enjoyed chatting with him on the first day we arrived. Lots of local/near places to get food including a new HEB. We shopped there to buy groceries for grilling out. The property has a good grill and necessary utensils so we had a great little cookout for the 4 of us. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed here. Very calm and relaxing getaway! Thank you so much Joe!

Last Minute Get Away

We had the best time exploring the Austin area. The red barn was the perfect home base. Sunrise out on the deck with the beautiful animals is hard to beat!

Weekend visit with two kids

The property was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. We booked at very short notice but the owner responded very quickly. It was great for the kids to see the animals from the balcony and it made the trip extra special for them. Its a great central location for Pedernales State Park, Lake Travis and downtown Houston. The layout is not ideal for toddlers because of the stairs and high beds but we made it work just fine. Definitely recommend staying here for a very peaceful and comfortable stay perfectly positioned for daytrips to Hill Country's best spots.

Amazing rental

We had a fantastic week, Joe was a fabulous host and nothing was too much trouble. The kids (and grown ups) loved seeing the animals every day and feeding moma donk!

Feels like the Savannah, but close to the busy town

This is a lovely location. It is really relaxing and seeing the animals right by the rental was wonderful. The owner was very helpful but also not intrusive. We would go back. We had a bit of a mix up for the check in but it was quickly sorted out.

Great Family Friendly Property!

We very much enjoyed our stay here! We all enjoyed feeding the camels and the view from the deck is beautiful. Delightfully tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Austin but not too far out. Property is nicely renovated and very comfortable. We will definitely come back!

Great time

My friends and I had a great time. The layout was great. It was clean and well stocked. Seeing the wildlife was pretty awesome. Plenty of breweries on the same road just minutes away. Would definitely stay again.

Cute family adventure!

We rented for two nights for my husbands birthday just us and our toddler and baby. It was a peaceful clean and adorable accommodation. We had one minor issue with an appliance not working which didn’t bother us at all and when I let Joseph know as a courtesy FYI he came over immediately to assess and fix for us. Would recommend! Kids loved watching the animals get fed in the mornings :)

Beautiful country oasis near Austin

We loved our stay at the Red Barn! It is on the outskirts of Austin, allowing us to spend our days exploring the city. In the mornings and evenings, though, we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the ranch, and watching the camels, wildebeest, zebras, and donkey from the beautiful deck. (Note: The sunrise comes out directly in front of the deck for early risers...it is beautiful and you can watch the animals wake from their slumber as well.) The place itself had everything we needed, and the family was very comfortable. No issues whatsoever...we will absolutely return given the opportunity.

Excellent Place

We had the best time at this place. So nice to wake up in the mornings and have coffee with a beautiful view of all the animals right out you back door. The location was great, peaceful country experience, and not far from state parks and restaurants. My son loved having the downstairs all to himself. We will definitely come back.

Location was great for hiking trails around Austin area.

The Redbarn place was nice. Great morning sunrises and peaceful evenings. The camels, zebras, deers, donkey and wildebeests were cool to see and take pictures. I recommend.

Incredibly Unique Place!

We stayed for 4th of July weekend and had a great time. The location is surrounded by wineries and distilleries, perfect spot for beautiful drives to nearby attractions. The house was very clean and communication with Joe was great. The best part though, is the animals! We walked right up to camels, zebras and donkeys. We got some great pictures and had an amazing view of 10+ firework shows at once. Overall, it was a great experience and we'd be happy to stay again.
