The Dans @ Long Beach - 30 Seconds from the Beach

The Dans is the perfect coastal getaway, only a 30-second walk to the prestigious sands of Long Beach. The Dans is so close to the beach you can hear the waves with the sandy shores and dog-friendly beach only moments away. Wake up to the sounds of the ocean, enjoy morning strolls along the beach, in the afternoon explore the surrounding area or take out the complimentary Paddle Boards or just watch the dolphins as they swim by. Our personal favourite...watching the kangaroos lazying around.

The interior is finished with high-end furniture designed to give guests a luxury experience, making the Dans the perfect coastal retreat.

Open plan living/dining with sliding doors onto an enclosed entertaining deck with outside seating area for 8 and BBQ. A perfect place to enjoy your favourite tipple after your day exploring the magical area.

During the winter months, guests can enjoy the wood burner for that cosy relaxing evening with a red wine in front of the fire.

Guests have a choice of three spacious bedrooms, the master bedroom comes with its own en-suite and opens onto a balcony with ocean views of the Tollgate Islands. There is a further bedroom upstairs which is fitted with a tri-bunk (i.e. double on the bottom and single on the top) and a further large bedroom downstairs that opens onto the entertaining deck. There are two bathrooms for guests use.

The Dans has a contemporary galley kitchen with ample storage, pantry and dishwasher. The kitchen has all of the appliances you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and most importantly, feel free to use the coffee machine to enjoy your morning coffee. Guests are also welcomed to use the washing machine in the laundry and clotheslines situated outside.

Fully fenced and secure yard / garden for pets.

Disappointing

Our stay at this accommodation was disappointing for several reasons. Despite leaving the place in a tidy state after a week-long stay, we were hit with an unexpected cleaning fee without any prior conversation or the option to dispute it. This was incredibly frustrating and felt like an unfair additional charge.On top of that, the property is inaccurately advertised. While it's listed as having three bedrooms, one of the "bedrooms" doesn't even have a door, offering no privacy at all. This was a huge letdown, especially for a group. The listing also claims there are 2.5 bathrooms, but there’s only one full bathroom. The other spaces consist of a room with just a bath and another with only a toilet – completely misleading.To make matters worse, the upstairs bathroom doesn't even have a ceiling, meaning both noise and bathroom smells escape into the upstairs area. This is a major design flaw and makes using the space uncomfortable.Between the inaccurate listing, the lack of privacy, and the unjust cleaning fee, we left feeling very unsatisfied. Would not recommend this place until these issues are properly addressed.

Wonderful Accomodation

First rate accommodation. It is wonderfully spacious and has absolutely everything you need. A minutes walk to the beach so the location is excellent

Lovely comfortable house with great location

We really enjoyed staying for several days in this very lovely house. Everything is there for a maximum comfort. Great beach very close and a lot of kangaroo all around on mornings and evenings. We highly recommend it.

Perfect holiday at Long Beach

This is a beautiful holiday house located only minutes from the beach. The home is well kept, quite new, very clean with all the basic essentials to get started on holidays. The two courtyards are very secure and we felt relaxed leaving our little dog (though please note, there was no grass in the courtyards, only rocks, pavers and timber decking). If staying with small children, I would be very concerned about the bunkroom upstairs. The bunk is up against a wall that does not go all the way to the roof - it would be very easy for a child to go over and fall the steep drop below! Very dangerous! Further, the "third" bedroom has no door for privacy. I suggest this home is more suitable and perfect for two couples with no children.

Great house

We stayed at The Dans for the June long weekend. Lovely house with everything we needed. One of our dogs is elderly so unable to do stairs anymore. It was great that we were able to sleep in the bedroom downstairs so she didn't have to stay downstairs by herself at night. Being June and cold nights the fireplace and supply of wood was a lovely addition. Our only complaint was a better quality toilet paper would have been good.

Excellent

This is a lovely comfortable property. What we particularly liked about it was that it was very well set up for our dogs. The tiled floors were very easily cleaned and the fully fenced side yard was just perfect.

Great Coastal Retreat!

What a beautiful coastal home!! Open plan home with all the required amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The beach is a very short walk across the road and after your beach trip there’s an outdoor shower (cold water only) to rinse off all the sand before heading back inside. The bbq and outdoor setting are great amenities to have on a nice summer night. There are only two bathrooms with the downstairs ensuite having access from both the bedroom and also the rest of the house. There is a bathroom to cater to the two bedrooms upstairs. The listing stating there is a third bathroom is a bit deceiving as there’s really only two bathrooms. The third bathroom I’m guessing is the downstairs toilet as there is no toilet in the downstairs bathroom but is instead a separate room next to the bathroom and not accessed directly from the downstairs bedroom. It states in the amenities list there is a clothes dryer, however there is only a decent sized clothes line and a clothes horse to be utilised. All rooms are a great size! If you have young kids staying in the “kids” bedroom upstairs, you may want to keep an eye on them as the bunk bed is next to a wall that doesn’t reach the ceiling and if kids climb on it, could easily fall down the staircase on the other side. The home is dog friendly, however there is a small gap below the gate and given we have a small dog, when we left the house we did have to block a part of the gap as I couldn’t trust my dog not to try and squeeze under. The owners were very responsive, answering messages promptly. They even left a bottle of wine and card for us on arrival which was a beautiful touch. I would highly recommend this property for your beach holiday and would love to come back and visit again! Absolutely loved our stay!

Great location and perfect holiday house

We stayed at the house with a small group of friends and our two dogs. The location was great - short walk to an awesome 24-hour dog beach. The house is perfect with a well-equipped kitchen. We ate out for the lunches and cooked in the evening. We would book to stay the Dan's in the future!

beautiful but needs some full disclosure and safety checks

The Dans @Longbeach is a lovely holiday house. Its location is lovely with the beach close by and in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood. It was a joy to see the kangaroos close by each evening. And I would recommend it for the adults and teenagers. A few important points for review however: the second bedroom upstairs with bunks isn't really suitable for children, the upper bunk especially. It is next to an incomplete wall that doesn't reach the ceiling and even a small child can peer over it, I feel this is a safety hazard especially for adventurous children and clear photographs of this bed and wall situation should be on the Stayz website information to help people assess its suitability for kids.. There is no bedroom door to this space either and it is open to a space that has access to wide stairs and there is no temporary children's safety gate on the stairs. The bathroom upstairs isn't really a full room, more of a cubicle as its walls also do not reach the ceiling ,this is less of an issue, but light and noise from this space are not contained which can be disturbing to others /children sleeping in the open bedroom space. While all this may be fine for adults and teenagers I think it should be clearly disclosed in the information about the house. The general state of the house was very clean, and Im sure this was just a one off after reading other reviews, but the sheet on the bottom of the downstairs bed was not clean, so we washed, but there was no clothes dryer available. Either a dryer or at least a spare sheet would have been a help. Toilet roll holders attached to the walls adjacent to the toilet would be a help also

Spacious home with all you need

We had great meals inside and outside all week. Spent plenty of time on the outdoor setting, enjoying sounds of birds and the ocean. Very sleepy little village atmosphere, but stones throw into BB that has all you need. Was also great for our dog, at least a couple of long beach walks every day. Highly recommend this property.

Gorgeous getaway

What a special place. We had a wonderful 3 night escape to this beautiful part of the world and wish we could have stayed longer. The Dans are excellent hosts and their home is just perfect with everything you could need for a relaxing time away. It is just a short walk to the beach and the sups added some extra fun! Work permitting we will certainly be back as soon as we can. Thank you Dans for sharing your immaculate home with us. It made out trip extra special to spend it in such wonderful surroundings – we had a gorgeous time.

Spotless soooo clean!!

We love the house it was absolutely spotless hosts wonderful. It was fully equipped fantastic for a little pug. Was totally fenced in from every door. Couldn’t ask for more and could hear the ocean at night highly recommended stay
