Hi Samantha, Thank you for your review, we’re glad that you liked the cottage. However there are a couple of areas I would like to address; * Water: The water supply to the cottage is a well & so that is why we provide drinking water with plenty of full size bottles for a water dispenser. This quite common for seasonal cottages. As there is very limited space at the cottage to store more large bottles, that’s why I ask if you need anything just let me know. I would have been happy to bring more had I been made aware. * Mosquitos: Unfortunately being in rural Canada we do have mosquitoes & travelling in September when the weather is a little cooler & the days being shorter they are probably worse. * Lawn care: As is mentioned in the rules grass cutting can’t always happen on checkin/checkout days, because of weather and perhaps our work schedules. That is why we send a message ahead of time to give guests a heads up. * Garbage: As mentioned in the rules we rely on guests to roll out the garbage can, because we don’t live close by. Rules are sent to you upon booking, there is a copy on the coffee table and I send a reminder the morning of collection. When you stay in someone’s house rather than a hotel, hosts rely on you to follow the rules, it is very important. I try to make instructions as simple as possible, but it is challenging when this doesn’t happen. Overall I did find the lack of communication difficult, I feel that if you had just sent a message about your frustrations I could have fixed them very quickly & easily, however you didn’t give me a chance. I would suggest that if you try this kind of vacation again, you should be more responsive to your hosts and read the rules provided for you.
