Lovely home in the mountains

The home is lovely, clean and spacious with lots of amenities as shown online. It was perfect for our group of 9. The location was excellent for hiking nearby. The owners were responsive and came out to the house to address one of our needs.

We were mostly visiting places in Virginia- the Crooked Road ( bluegrass, Americana music) and Blue Ridge Parkway, also Grayson Highlands Park. It was ideally suited for that. We had 13 in our group but never felt crowded, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms, two kitchens although we were not able to use the downstairs kitchen fully as the fridge was not working ( we received a credit for that). It’s a beautiful house in a magnificent setting, we would rent it again.

Great set-up

The house had a great set-up and having two separate kitchens made it very easy to work and prepare meals. Having bedrooms on three different levels allowed those with babies to have their own separate area, while those without could enjoy a quiet retreat on the top level.

Our family had plenty of room in this lovely home. Total of 13 people and never was on top of each other. The only thing i would recommend would be TVs in the bedrooms, more dish wash cloths( i like to hand wash my dishes) and getting fly control upstairs in the king size bedroom. They were coming in from under the wood! Tons of them. Other than that the stay was wonderful with beautiful views and deer everywhere. First mountain trip was a success and would definitely go back!! Carol was an amazing host.

Family loved the stay at the home, nice and quiet neighborhood Beautiful scenery, family love sitting on the porch and the balcony. And watching the Wildlife in the morning and in the evenings. As far as GPS it will get You lost if you turn on I get in the road turn around and go straight on the road It had you turn off From and follow that all around.GPS will get you right to the gate at that time. Tried calling the hostess to see if she could help me navigate no. Answer and her mailbox was full and never received a phone call back.

The house was lovely and in a nice community. We loved being able to see all the stars at night and families of deer. The house is just as pictured and had all sorts of amenities to keep us entertained.

So Well Suited for Large Families

This year, our extended family decided to gather for a fall foliage mountain retreat and this large home fit the bill perfectly for us. Everyone had their own space, and the large dining room and well stocked kitchen helped facilitate some delicious meals around the table. The house is quite secluded, with the nearest possible restaurants in Sparta a good half hour drive, so we cooked most of our meals at the house. Definitely helps to be prepared for groceries! If you plan to use the hot tub, do make sure and plan ahead better than we did and turn up the heat a few hours in advance! It does take a little while to heat up.

Family weekend

House is very nice and spacious. It’s a home away from home. Fully furnished kitchen with small appliances, pots and pans, cutlery etc. All bathrooms and bedrooms fully furnished. Directions posted including GPS is somewhat confusing so daytime arrival is recommended. The tennis and basketball courts referred to across the street are unrecognizable due to overgrown trees and brush.

Perfect Home for Large Group

Stayed in this cabin for the holiday week. We participated in the community Fourth of July picnic and activities. The cabin was absolutely perfect for our large family and our kids’ friends. The beds were very comfy, the kitchen was well stocked and the owners were available to answer questions we had about local life. We will definitely be back to Piney Creek!

We had a great time staying at this Piney Creek house. Great rooms to gather in or space to spread out. Enjoyed all of it! Especially loved hanging out on the decks outside and the swings underneath. Would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get their large group of family and friends together! It’s the perfect place.

The property was clean, well maintained and well stocked. The kitchen had everything you could need. Easy river access; we tubed almost everyday. The basement area was perfect for the kids with three bedrooms; game room; living room; kitchen; and two bathrooms; plus two bedrooms on main level + kitchen and living areas; and two bedrooms on upper level + living area; and two laundry rooms. There was plenty of room to spread out; plenty of eating space - the dining table extended out, plus seating at kitchen island and two tables outdoors. There were plenty of towels in the bathrooms; and extra blankets; it seems they have thought of every detail. The contact person for the property was friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I highly recommend this house.

Mountain motorcycle getaway

Beautiful property close to lots of beautiful rides. Nice deck to sit on after riding, grill and plan the next day. House was clean and had good cooking utensils and cookware which was a welcome bonus since we were all interested in cooking. Definitely recommend.

The perfect getaway

My brother said it best that this house looked better in person than the pics online showed! Very nice cabin with everything to make the perfect stay. The beds were all comfortable & house was spacious for our group of 12 & the views this home provided from the top were so beautiful! Thanks to a previous review we knew to purchase groceries prior to arriving as the nearest grocery store was a little ways away. There is a small town convenience store nearby. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

An oasis of serenity.

My first stay with VRBO & let me just say, This stay was Perfect! Reserve it now, it won’t last long! The cabin is very spacious, cozy, & clean..... large enough for big families/groups with all the amenities you could possibly need. Waking up to the scenic mountain view will add more joy to your stay. The hosts Terrance & his wife ARE AMAZING and they’ve prepped the cabin with plenty of games and family fun activities for all age groups. Be sure to take a hike on the property, visit the river, & dine at Red Dogs restaurant during your stay. The Drive into town is approximately 30-40 minutes so I would suggest grabbing groceries before checking in *the mountain roads will look very intimidating, but just drive slow, take your time and you’ll be absolutely fine!* My family & I are already discussing a yearly return stay 😊
