30+ Acres to Explore | Cabin at Cranberry Mill | Trout Stream Just Feet Away
If nature had a secret hideout, this would be it. With 30 private acres to roam and a scenic stream steps away, Cabin at Cranberry Mill is like a mountain getaway straight out of a movie. Enjoy sunrise coffee by the water, laughter beneath the trees, and cozy comfort wherever you look.
--------------------------------------------
Indoor Spaces:
- Sleeping arrangements: Sleeps four guests in two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and en suite bath. An additional sun bed resides on the screened-in deck for when you need a nap or a restful sleep to the sounds of flowing water.
- Main level: This one-floor home has plenty of space to spread out and relax. The inviting great room features a gas fireplace and a large TV. An open floor plan seamlessly connects the living, kitchen, and dining areas, with large windows letting in natural light. Charming wood paneling and cathedral ceilings complete the cozy cabin feel of this home.
- Cabin at Cranberry Mill comes with WiFi, AC, and streaming-enabled TVs.
- All Stay Blue Ridge vacation rentals include a complimentary starter pack with soaps, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and trash bags.
--------------------------------------------
Outdoor Spaces:
- The expansive screened-in deck is like a whole second home, with a table and seating for dining al fresco, plush arm chairs, and an inviting daybed with pillows and blankets waiting for you.
- This property is practically a private park, with 30 acres of land to explore and a tree-lined trout stream just steps away from your front door. Rapids and boulders add extra character and scenic delight to your waterfront views.
- Bring your fishing gear, binoculars, cameras, and hiking boots so that you can take full advantage of your natural surroundings and its abundant wildlife. The stream is catch-and-release, so cast your lines and settle in.
- On chilly nights, warm up by the creekside firepit in Adirondack seats. Bring your marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers for s'mores under the stars.
- Games, games, games galore! Cabin at Cranberry Mill has cornhole, bocce ball, croquet, and horseshoes for you to enjoy at your leisure.
--------------------------------------------
Local Surroundings:
- There is more than enough to do on this property to keep you entertained for your entire trip, but we highly recommend you take the 20-minute journey to downtown West Jefferson for a day of shopping and a night out on the town. See cheese made at Ashe Co. Cheese Factory, try local brews at New River Brewery, and grab a bite to eat at Red Dog Bar & Bistro. If you're out on a Saturday night, check out Boondocks Brew Haus for live music and delicious drinks. You're also minutes away from Thistle Meadow Winery, so head out for a wine tasting or one of the winery's many events.
- The High Country has no shortage of outdoor recreation. Fish, hike, bike, paddle, whatever your heart desires. You're within 20 minutes of New River access points and local outfitters if you want to spend a day floating on the water. If you want to venture a little further out, take the 45-minute drive up to Grayson Highlands State Park, where you can explore miles of scenic hiking trails and look for the park's residents—wild miniature ponies!
- Boone is roughly an hour away but well worth the drive. With even more shopping and dining options, you can spend a whole day in the home of Appalachian State University. Boone and the nearby town of Blowing Rock are close to several Blue Ridge Parkway access points, where you can discover popular hiking trails like Rough Ridge and the famous Linn Cove Viaduct. While the parkway is beautiful year-round, it's especially breathtaking during autumn when the fall foliage turns the mountains into vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. Fall is also the time to catch an App State football game.
- Visiting in the winter? Turn your trip to Boone into a day of fun on the slopes of Appalachian Ski Mountain. You can ski, snowboard, snow tube, and ice skate. If you're new to snow sports, App Ski Mountain offers lessons for beginners of all ages.
--------------------------------------------
Important Notes:
- Pet Policy: Up to two dogs welcome. Must be leash and crate trained, two years or older, and 25lbs. or less. $50 per pet, nonrefundable.
- Access: A short gravel drive leads into this property from paved main roads. We recommend 4WD/AWD when traveling in the mountains during winter.
- Security Disclaimers: External cameras monitor public areas on the exterior of the house to keep an eye on nosy critters and check winter road conditions.
