The good: This is a modern, comfortable building. We had a two bedroom, one bathroom suite on the quiet side of the building. (There are several nightclubs in this area that could keep you up, but we couldn't hear the noise from our suite) The beds were comfortable, but the living/kitchen/dining area is small. This didn't bother us because we didn't spend much time in our suite. The pool deck is amazing with lots of places to sit in the sun or shade, a large and small pool, a hot tub and a bar. Julio at the rooftop bar makes a really good margarita, so be sure to try one. We were there for two weeks and we took advantage of the free mid-vacation linen change and cleaning, which was much appreciated. The staff are helpful and very friendly.
The bad: There were stairs to enter the building, though there was a lift for persons in a wheelchair or those with mobility issues, but it didn't look like it was easy to access. To get to our suite we took the elevator to the third floor, turned to the left, walked down the hall and up 9 stairs, so this is not a good suite for someone who can't do stairs. The whole time we were there we had to walk up the stairs around buckets to catch leaks. We were told that the pool was leaking.
Overall: This is a very central location. It is located one block off 5th Avenue and one block to the beach. You have beautiful views of the beach and all around Playa del Carmen from the roof. We really enjoyed our stay.
