Pura Vida is wonderful. Snorkeling off the beach was great. Eleuthera Vacation Rentals was very helpful and efficient. I've only been home a few days but I'm sure my security deposit will come back to me on time.

Absolutely paradise!!!

Fourth year staying there and we are still in awe every time we open that front door. We feel so at home there and are totally spoiled with the property. We had a complete smorgasbord of weather this time and it was beautiful each and every day. The owners have done a spectacular job with everything. It s so hard to leave there.

Simply Perfection

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pura Vida. The house is lovely: spacious, beautifully furnished, comfortable, well equipped and the setting fabulous. We loved watching the sunrise from the deck, the gardens were beyond beautiful. The location was ideal for touring the island. We saw a lot of Eleuthera, north and south. Enjoyed the beaches, restaurants, and most especially, the people. Would recommend highly.

Pura Beauty!

Great location and house for 4 people with lots of areas to relax without being on top of one another. The kitchen was well-stocked and the beach accessories were much appreciated. Had a little trouble with TV but problem was addressed promptly, although never solved but not a big deal. Owners were easy to deal with and responsive. Loved the location, unfortunately our weather wasn't great but the house made it easier to handle. Thanks for a great vacation!

Thanks for coming to Pura Vida and for your patience regarding the the satellite TV service outage. We were able to solve with a new service which took a few days longer than we had hoped. In the islands things sometimes move at a slower pace! We welcome you back again.

Top Notch

Our family of four, two boys aged 8 and 11, had the perfect 10 day January vacation at Pura Vida. The beach and house were better than described. . We had the ocean to ourselves 99% of the time. The villa was beautifully decorated and completely and thoughtfully outfitted. A tropical paradise yet 10 minutes from Island Farms and their great bread and fresh produce and another 5 minutes from Governors Harbour where you can get anything else you could possibly need all without a stop light in sight.

Wonderful visit. Our first to Eleuthera. We went somewhat blind as to what to expect but really enjoyed the island (but see why people say it is not for everyone - thought it may not be for us in the midst of the drive from ELH to the house!!). But far and away the best part was Pura Vida. Perfect location, beautiful house with all the amenities you could want. The pool, the sitting area just above the beach, the privacy - all were much better than imagined and not really done justice in the pics. Ed and Brenda are easy to work with and clearly care to make this a great place to vacation. We already have our reservations for next year!

The Good Life for sure

Pura Vida has such stunning views, from sunrise to sunset and thru to the starry nights! We had shooting stars just above us one night! This is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed vacation home. Very welcoming with so many great nooks and places to eat, read, or work ( if you must. like I did). Great information on island , amazing book and movie collections. The artwork inside, I believe mostly by the owner, is quite inspiring. Two weeks was not long enough, we did not want to leave. Already planning our return!

Relaxing!

This was our first trip to Eleuthera and Pura Vida and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The house was clean and we had everything we could need in the kitchen. The property had every kind of tropical specimen plant you can imagine. We ventured out and took one of the kayaks out to Little Diamond Cay. Next trip we will attempt Big Diamond Cay. We took long daily walks on the beautiful pink sand beach. Steve and Cindy were easy to deal with and responded very quickly to any of our questions. We will be back!

Perfect island retreat!

This is the perfect spot to get away and have some peace and quiet in the most beautiful tropical setting! The front of the house is almost completely glass and you have a stunning ocean view almost everywhere you look! The master suite also faces the beach, so you wake up to the sunrise over the turquoise water every morning. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything that you need! There are some good restaurants within about 15-20 min and the locals at the dive shop in Governor's Harbor will give you some great snorkeling destinations to explore as well. Highly recommend a half day fishing and snorkeling trip with Paul Petty while you are there! We stayed 10 days and have all said we wished we could be back there now. Can't beat it!

Great house/Great vacation April 2-9 2011

Just got back from Eluethera and Pura Vida, it was awesome! House is fantastic, makes you feel very comfortable and at home immediately. Owners gave great guidance and it was as easy and stress free as it gets! A true get away,top notch decore and kitchen, in fact the owers added a huge great new gas BBQ while we where there! Beach was great and most days saw only a couple people and this was spring break Never used A/C as perfect breeze of ocean was fantastic.and when it got breezy on Atlantic we went 1 mile to Ten Bay beach on Carribean side for calm warm waters and great shelling. Starfish, Sand Dollars etc.. Waters are beautiful and setting cant be better. Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful home with us we will dream about it until we return next year! Best of the best!

We loved the outdoor area, which is where we spent most of our time while at the house. There are so many different areas in the home to sit and relax, the master bedroom and bath was spacious and comfortable! I don't have a single thing I would change. I am very grateful that this home is available to enjoy while visiting Eleuthera and we will definitely be back and Pura Vida will be our first choice!

Pura Villa is excellent!

Third trip to Lutra. Our second two week stay and second in Palmetto Point. Pura Villa is an excellent villa. It was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The layout is great, with the screened-in sleeping porch one of my favorite features. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking gear and appliances..the knives were even reasonably sharp! The beach out front is exceptional. With a very nice sandy entry a few yards south of the stairs and tons of great snorkeling reefs a handful of yards from shore. The Internet is spotty at times, but was pretty good for Eleuthera. And why would you spend much time on it anyway when you could be ignoring the world and watching the waves come in?! Overall an extremely positive experience. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place

This was our 3rd time to rent Pura Vida.Our daughter joined us for one of our weeks there and she loved it too.At first there was no WIFI for several days but the caretaker took care of that.All 3 times we were there the phone never worked.This time my new phone allowed me to use WIFi calling and I have a travel plan for $10/day which I used when there was no internet or WIFI.The internet is awesome if you need to stay in touch with your business etc.or do Zoom calls which my husband had to do once or twice.The appliances had all been replaced this time.Everything worked which we haven't seen always in other rentals.The owner is very assessible as well.Can't wait to go back!

The phone issue has been resolved by the phone co. In fact, they have just installed a new complete internet system and equipment for Double Bay area which is much appreciated. Loved Pura Vida and Eleuthera!

We just returned from a wonderful ten day stay at Pura Vida in Eleuthera. We are seasoned travelers who have stayed in numerous accommodations throughout the Caribbean and have to say that Pura Vida was a delight. Steve and Cindy are a pleasure to deal with and answered all of our questions in a timely and friendly manner. The house itself is well maintained and spotless. It contains everything you need, from beach chairs to electronic appliances to kitchenware, that make your stay as comfortable as possible. The beach in front of the house is beautiful and you can walk for miles without encountering a single soul. Our children enjoyed kayaking to the cays, snorkeling, fishing and just playing in the surf. You can imagine their excitement when dolphins swam by while they were playing in the water. The house is ideally located for exploring the many unique beaches and towns throughout the Eleuthera. We are so glad to have chosen Pura Vida and will no doubt be back in the future!

Amazing Honeymoon

Go to Eleuthera and stay here!! We could not have picked a better place to spend our honeymoon. We stayed at Pura Vida for 10 nights and it was an amazing trip. Everything is as described and so much better in person. The view from the house and on the beach is exquisite. The grounds are even more private than pictured. You cannot be seen from inside the house or in most of the backyard by any neighboring houses or anyone on the beach. We only saw 2 people on the beach the whole time we were there. We loved laying in the hammock or in the loungers and watching the waves or stars. I would definitely recommend renting a jeep. There is so much to explore of the island and the roads are not in the best shape. Have some conch fritters and enjoy 1 of the many beautiful beaches! We found that no matter how many beaches we discovered, none were more beautiful than what we already had in Double Bay. We brought back a large back of pink sand and plenty of amazing memories with us. We are already planning our return trip. :)

Best Rental I've Been To

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First I will say when I come back to Eleuthera I would definitely like to stay at this home again. It was beautifully maintained and looked like it had only been built a couple years ago. The main living area with the kitchen and great room is amazing looking out to the ocean. If you go when in the low 80s you can keep the doors open with the screens closed and have the Sea Air flow through the house all day and night. I really can't say enough about how beautiful the home was and how nice everything was maintained. If you've never been to Eleuthera understand you will need to go to the local market to shop for your groceries. The main store is around 15-20 minutes away. We made meals at home and also went out to a couple of the restaurants. I could write a long review about the experience and how we did things but to keep it simple you will not be disappointed staying at this home. I should also mention the master bed was very comfortable and is off the screened-in patio. We kept the doors open all night to have the breeze come through the house. Looking forward to coming to Eleuthera again and staying here.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

my husband and daughter and i had the good fortune to spend some time at Pura Vida recently. it was by far the nicest house we've ever rented from VRBO, and we've been using VRBO for years. steve and cindy were lovely to work with, as was the caretaker george. we arrived on a dark and rainy night (after a long delay at the nassau airport) and saw that the house was gorgeous. when we awoke to sunshine, we realized that we were in our own private paradise. the grounds were meticulously kept. the sandy path through the gardens to the ocean had been raked. that is just an example of the extra care and effort that is put forth for the guests. we truly felt like we were at an elegant resort but with the comforts and convenience of home. the bedrooms were beautiful, roomy and comfortable, and the bathrooms modern and high-end. the kitchen was fully equipped with quality appliances that made it fun to cook. following steve and cindy's recommendations, we went to Tippy's Restaurant which was excellent. we also ate at the Beach House, also good, which had a cute boutique attached. make sure to go to governor's harbour to buy fish and lobster when the fishing boats come in. we also went often to Island Farms for fresh vegetables, homemade bread, and homemade salsa, the best ever. we explored lots of beaches (the island has plenty of public access beaches, often without anyone else there) and there was a bonefish flat about 3 miles from the house that was heaven for my husband. i have already recommended Pura Vida to friends and family and will continue to do so. our biggest surprise was how much we loved Eleuthera itself. we had no idea what to expect and were delighted with its friendliness, authenticity, and unspoiled beauty. thank you steve and cindy! ann

I can best compliment the home, view, amenities & dealing with the owners with a 2 week booking for their home next year already. I was home barely a week before I booked it. My boyfriend & I went for 9 days this year & it was the most romantic, private, beautiful paradise and we enjoyed it to the max. We enjoyed the screened room, kayaks & BBQ grill very much. The home has everything you need at your disposal & is beautiful inside & out. The Beach House is a must for dancing with the "Rum Runners" & a great rack of lamb. The 1648 restaurant that just opened in GH has the best filet mignon & pizza pretty much anywhere & has a great calm view of the harbor. I could have done without the fish fry but Tippy s is always a must for 5 or 6 meals & some dancing. Da Perk has the best NY bagel sandwich & good coffee. We do bring our own coffee but Tippy s deli has a good brand they sell if you don't. Having the BBQ grill, we purchased fresh tuna, grouper & lobster from GH dock & Tarpum Bay dock. My guy is the grill master. It was the best tuna I have ever had. Island Farms has such great whole grain breads & outrageous cinnamon buns on tue & fri. & that is where we get our produce. We feel Eleuthera is a magical place & I can never imagine not visiting at least once a year. When we go next year, my boyfriend & I will be there alone for 1 week & then we are going to share the 2nd week with our family. We have told them so much about Eleuthera & it is our second time there. We rent a beat up soft top jeep & it is perfect for the roads there & driving on the wrong side is actually fun. With the kayak, we made it to the first island & spent time there which was fun. We tried twice to the larger island but we hit 6 ft. swells which the kayak handled very well but the water is so rough coming in at different angles that we could not land. We will try again next year on a calm day. Thank you Steve & Cindy for sharing your paradise with us. The only negative thing I can say, is that is it soooo hard leaving. Doreen & Scott

Sounds like you had a great time! The pristine and wild tropical beauty of Eleuthera is captivating. We welcome you back next year. We understand. We always hate to leave Pura Vida and when we come home we always begin planning our next trip. So glad you came and enjoyed! Steve and Cindy

This house had everything including a pool with lovely deck for sunbathing, lounging and stargazing at night. Amazing screened in porch. Back up power generator. It had all of our musts and then some. Loved the lo ation. House decor is lovely with many places to relax, eat a meal or read a book.
